A big Mickey Rourke fan, I remember watching the preview for this movie in Germany......great flick, dynamic characters........flawed to some, but moving to many.
@@user-xb7dp4vu3r "I watched the movie a few years ago. And I know about the IRA" --- So you simply asked "why" for no particular reason? Good to know.
@@o.b.7217 No, we can have different perspection of the same thing. Maybe I'm sad for something that you don't care. I just wanted to know why someone got sad! :P
Mickey Rourke has never looked more Irish LOL. The script is a little bare-boned, but the actors make it shine. I just purchased the novel, looking forward to reading it.
Saw this once i was a kid, tried to get hold of physical copy ever since. Just love that line. "do you play Mr. Fallon... Yes.. Very well" i'ts just pure fucking badass. Not some usual macho shit or supposed to be funny one liners, just telling the truth, and kick the pure fuck out off your argument after that.
Empfehlenswert ❤
It´s really a shame Mickey Rourke ruined his career and his body with his boxing attempt and the plastic surgeries but ironically - if he handn´t, he would have not been able to play the Wrestler so convincingly.
i was 7 year-old when i watched this movie it's still one of my fave
I was 15 years old when I watched this movie in cinema. Year was 1987. It's my favourite movie still. What year did you watch it?
Love Fallon's expression when he begins playing like "you didn't believe me, did you?"
Tracer Scythe hey who was Elsa and Millie sulivan what role did they play?
@@brendowilliams3271 I'm not certain whom exactly you mean off the top of my head, sorry it's a year late to reply to your question.
This movie is a masterpiece.

It was a movie to be too sad, and to remember.
Why

Watch the movie, learn about the history of the IRA, then - maybe - you'll know why.

@@millser1111 I'm sorry I only had it on VHS tape back then at my parents' home. Try looking for "A Prayer For The Dying" on DVD.
@@tpteee Sadly I've seen this movie on a VHS tape at my grandparents, and I'm not sure even if I can find it I could digitise it.

Tens year passed after first time I watched this movie and I still remember this scene, but the funny thing is with different rourke's ecpression
That's because you were born late, buddy. You literally missed Mickey. 😅
fantastic... and beside that I'm moved by that movie.
Какой фильм,Микки сдесь на такой высоте.
Probably at his most gorgeous
Well, first of all he plays a PIPE ORGAN and not a piano, then he plays Bach's Fugue is G minor (little) BWV 578.
One of my old favourites the music and story awesome!!.
Best scene 😍
Tension pura en la escena
Very impressive
Мой самый любимый фильм с Микки Рурком!

The best scene in Cinema ever
'Nobody touches the priest'
Good movie
extra❤
Love this organ tune gone knows what it's called
J.S. Bach: Fugue in G minor BWV 578
he sure did a right job of making an ass of the superintendent.
These movies were "real". Contemporary ones are, with rare exceptions, shit.
Bach rules!
a little bit od Bach and life is beautifull
" - А что ж сыграть-то? - Мурку!"
Bang out an ELP tune on that thing!
"¿Existe vida antes de la muerte?"
Não lembro nada eu era adolescente
Martin
!!! )))
Uh that's a pipe organ
I google Liam neesson and found this 😅😅
He should have played "the sash my father wore" wrong side?
Who is the blonde in this scene?
IMDb is your friend. So is wiki.
Beautiful scene
Excellent chin
Horrible sideburns
so the guy is all suspicious of the tuner when he plays dissonant chords - but then when playing recognized 'music' he is off the hook?

That kind of music.will make someone die, and the.movie is creepy.,. nothing as great as Year of the Dragon! All thumbs down here!
Movie started off good & was a total flop at the end...
Wah, wah,...no happy end...wah, wah..,total flop...
Great Movie, but Mickey didn`t need to die in it....
Yes he did. It was Martin's penance. And it made way for the ascendance of Sean Dillion in the author's (Jack Higgins) pantheon.
