It's a good thing you have subtitles, I honestly can't understand what these people are saying sometimes
Some definitions of some words heard in this video (I made it for my students so I thought I'd share it here if it could be useful to anyone):
1. stranded - to be left somewhere where you can't leave, for example, on an island by yourself
2. recent - from only a short time ago (like, recently)
3. Dunno - I don't know
4. "I don't get it" = I don't understand it at all
4. qualms - problems
5. atrocity - something that is the most horrible thing
6. naff (British slang) - without style or taste; uncool
7. "It's an 18" = you must be 18+ to see this film
8. "Hang on" - slang meaning "wait"
9. to delve - to go (used with the word 'deep')
10. "one/run of the mill" - not anything interesting
I got into easy languages for Easy German. I'm American and watching this makes me realize how much we say "like" all the time. An interesting/odd part of our modern language.
Not being able to understand something doesn't make it bad...
+Maestro1984 When you don't understand sth then there are 2 possibiities. Either I don't give it to you properly to understand it or you are silly. In case we delete the second option what is then left? The script writer didn't make for (her) good job that's why she didn't understand the plot so... she finds the film for this reason bad. Did I make you understand her concept? :)
If you dislike the Matrix because you think it's too complicated and hard to follow, then the problem is you, not the film.
The interviewer is fit as heck! Very beautiful.
a bit boring though :/
It was hard to understand because the audio quality was a bit low. But good video though :)
I don't think there is anything wrong with this audio quality , that's just the liverpudlian accent
I couldn't help but be reminded of old Beatles interviews while watching this!
Liverpool is great! I live close by in Lancashire and despite the city's bad press it is one of the nicest cities in the UK, particularly down by the docks or in Sefton Park. Additionally, scousers are brilliant, friendly and funny. If you guys are doing any more of these up in the northwest I'd be happy to help out!
5.09 should be 'run-of-the-mill', not 'one of the mill'. Great video, thanks for making these :)
I love this video! Thank you guys so much~
thumbs up for easy english!
Thank you so much.. for this vídeo.. I needed it..
Matrix is great movie, just cuz you don't understand it, it doesn't mean that the movie is bad
Well obviously if someone doesn't understand a movie, they're not going to say it was great
That was just her personal point of view. What's the problem? :)
Greezlock: Some "personal points of view" are irrational, ridiculous, not well supported, etc. What are you, some kind of relativist "one opinion's as good as another" idiot?
Why don't you do one about the Beatles in Liverpool?
interview more people who speak fast. please. It is quite helpful.
thanks
Oh learning English is hard.
I cannot understand what do they say without sub.
The Matrix is worst film as its confusing her. LMAO
maybe the third one aye
I am confused by Matrix in a way too, cause I liked them saying that they don't like that everything is fixed and then two next parts were all about that they have the purpose and that is what determines their lives : (
the girl at 2:40 is extremely hard to understand as an american.
Christian M She's not American, it's just the accent of where she lives, which is Liverpool. :)
Thomas S lol i know, im saying for me, an american, it's hard to understand
Christian M Oh okay :)
I wouldn't even be able to understand her if it wasn't for the subtitles
Agreed, very difficult dialect. I could understand most of what she said, but I had to listen very carefully. I am American. I feel for those students of English who have been taught "book English" or neutral English and then try to understand that!
My God I'd forgotten how annoying the Scouse accent is.
It's a good video, viewer'll listen for the people say. But it's can quite hard
for viewer who start study english
i am asking why is these episodes at this serious posted so slowly.
could you do it more so you can post it more here.
thanks anyway. so cool.
+thu nguyen Good news! I am producing 1 video each week from now on. Check back each Tuesday.
Thanks men! hope to see your video soon.
I couldn’t understand anything until 6:07 😔
I can't hear their voices...
The expression is "run of the mill"
is there a video with people from the north of england? They are talking as fast as a MP5 fires..
What's the accent that the girl with sunglasses on her hair speaking?
Scouse
I hate Sharknado too, the effects were a piece of shit
I understand more what American people say than British people
Please do more with Scouse!
Trying to guess where the guy at 4:07 is from, he's not from the UK. I'm guessing Danish by his accent?
he has the best argument
Why nobody said The Amazing Spiderman 1 and 2!!! Don't get it!!
how can you not like All is Lost? ... the latest Mission Impossible was pretty boring, i have to agree.
Where is "Daniel der Zauberer"?
Probably the worst Halle Berry's movie is Catwoman
WHAT??
How dare you! Matrix is a masterpiece!
For me was 2001 Space's Odissey. I expected more of that movie...
Oh hai Mark
Good grief! Are people always this articulate? (Regardless the accent)
4:05
I think I found my mate.
Not the worst film from my movie-watching history by any stretch, but the Fantastic Four reboot sucked.
1:34
what kind of accent is that?
xNeverm1ndx scouse.
Kieran Clark thanks
I like more british english than american english because is more easier learning
Who else is still watching it in November 2017!!!if so then leave a reply lol
Matrix? really????
What's with "Erm"? Must be Scouse lingo.
this blond girl ....beautiful
Mamma Mia! Or Ishtar! Hands Down.
No ! Cabin in the wood is a great movie.
no it sucks
Ted
and i love Seth
I have a question for the american friends : Does an american fully understand everything those people are saying? or there are confusing parts for you too?
I'm not American but some people in Liverpool have a really strong scouse accent which has lots of slang and isn't really easy to understand. So I guess an American would find it hard to understand.
I'm Canadian its hard for me to understand
The Matrix? Is she kidding?
Me exploto la cabeza con la chica que habla demasiado rápido, no le entendí ni un carajo jajajajjaja
I love Liverpool
The movies that I hate ara the Indian movies with common acrobats
4:04 I laughed hard.
kind of dumb asking scousers who can be hard to understand even to a native speaker
The english are accually proberly the worst people to learn english off lol.
“Accually proberly”? Okay then... maybe you're right but I'd still rather learn English from them than “off” you.
+Arturo yup who do you think we learnt English off. GL wham
lol Scouse accent is exasperating
Ppl p ?
lmao who even cares of what thay talk of when it sounds that awful then none does get it of what thay basically talk about even thou someone would be living in the uk so wouldnt be able actually understand thousands of words thay do say in general why should I listen that freaking odd accent?!
It's only odd if you don't understand it.
Teaching foreigners English by making them listen to people from Liverpool...are you guys trying to be ironic?
Also "The Cube" was MST3k level of god-awful.
I'm a foreigner and I'm really enjoying these episodes and hearing accents of native speakers.
Oh Jesus, British accent is so annoying :D In the most situations, without a subtitles I would not be able to understand anything
they talk away from the mike, thats why. Also, its Liverpool, so what do you expect?
Some attractive females. I could understand everything they were saying despite the low sound and accents!
How to speak British?
British isn't a language. It's a national identity.
Ahah, so how to speak like British people 😁
@@apaan3801 😂😁There we go.
@@matthewbradley1609 how? Teach me😂
hahahahah.. Don't be teaching people "british english"... No one will ever understand them!! You have to teach them North American english :D
Yeah, but they can teach Standard clear British English like the ones in BBC World News plus English is from England which is currently part of the UK so gives them the right to teach it globally & not to mention most countries in Europe, Asia & Africa basically teach British English. Point is British English remains popular as North American English....
PS: I'm a Hong Konger
+Derek Stubbings I love British English as much as anyone else, but it's false to say that British English is as common as North American English, especially seeing as how you're from Hong Kong. granted, living in the US, I have similar biases but American English is definitely more important and more widespread than European English.
All i meant was "north American English" us easier to understand. Therefore, better to teach with. We also use less slang. I'm learning German. It's important i learn "hochdeutsch" from the north. Swiss German, for example, is completely different. So i should not learn that one
joshisfound If you are going to learn english, you should learn the original version of it similar to the fact that you are learning normal german. English English is the original so people should learn that. E.g colour is spelt with a U!!!! Scouse dialect in this video is only spoken by people from Liverpool. I find hard to understand Americans sometimes.
Huh? In American English, we use soooo much slang. Foreigners would probably understand British English ten times better than American English at first glance because of how weirdly we phrase things and whatnot.
