    You make #7 sound so much better and more usable than I've ever been able to! Back to the woodshed for me...

      Hey, thanks Andre.......let's face it......I'm using a prerecorded loop, which makes it very simple for people to hear all aspects of the manipulations........Not very original (like your guitar sound/style), but I felt it'd be the simplest way to demonstrate the radical nature of that setting......thanks for watching bro!

      @willswitchcraft  Год назад

      Actually, I was having this problem, and couldn't find a solution (not in the original manual).....a fellow Cosmos dude on RUclips, reached out and suggested that I read the newer version of the manual.....It was a real relief. I've even asked Vlad (SOMA) if there's a possibility of resolving that in the future......

    I like the unpredictability, but I really wish they would improve it so you can lock it at any point to stop it from changing and have the ability to save/recall loops...

      I hear you. It is an amazing piece of gear (although I did end up selling mine), but it lacks many things: MIDI, presets, etc. Vlad always seems to make gear which is for experimentation, but it's not always suitable for anything else.....

    Hey Will, I will (no pun intended) make note of that for the future as it would drive me bonkers if a slow attack caused issues seeing as that is a big part of my sounds also. Thank you for sharing.

    Hi Will. I like your videos and on a RUclips search have again found myself returning for more. Where would you put a Soma Cosmos in a guitar signal chain? I however realize that you are more into synthesizers. Am wondering if you got around to recording a Quadraphonic Soma Cosmos sample? :)

    • @willswitchcraft
      @willswitchcraft  4 месяца назад

      I don't own a Cosmos anymore.....and I didn't get a chance to do the Quad set up, as I discovered that it's not really Quad, it's just 2 Cosmos (with DIFFERENT input signals) linked. For a guitar set up, as long as you have a preamped signal, you could go into the Cosmos anywhere on your pedalboard fx type chain, but you just have to decide if you want to go Stereo in or Mono......you definitely will want to take the Stereo Cosmos outputs though....

      Thanks for your comment. I truly appreciate it....I was fortunate enough to find another 'user video' here on YT which mentioned this, as well as some other info.....it turns out that this information DOES exist in the Cosmos manual, it just didn't exist in the original manual......Now, I'm in direct contact with Vlad (the creator), which is really wonderful and helpful....

  • @davidmonteiro6822

    Thank you. Do you think the cosmos would work nicely with a pan drum as input Instrument?

    • @willswitchcraft
      @willswitchcraft  Год назад +1

      Yes, it's pretty cool on a Pan, however - no matter what gear you use, you'd need to have one of those set ups with a few piezo mics (magnetic mount), as a mic is never idea.........Because the Cosmos doesn't have presets, it's not for everyone.....I'd also consider a Microcosm, as it also has a great reverb, presets, and syncs to other gear by MIDI

  • @techsture

    Does the noise gate have to be fixed every time you turn it on?
    EDIT: Nevermind, you're right. The v1 manual doesn't cover it. v2 manual does confirm that the setting is wiped when you turn the unit off.

    Breaking Ambient News: A group of famous rock musicians from bands PRISM, LOVERBOY, LEE AARON, TROOPER, CHILLIWACK, HEADPINS, STREETHEART, POWDER BLUES, NICK GILDER and others have been assembled to play their hits at the Hard Rock Show Theatre in Coquitlam on Saturday October 1, 2022. The entire event is orchestrated and conducted by Rocket Norton. A percussion array is part of the stage plot. I haven't confirmed this but I'm told it remains onstage during set changes. The mystery percussionist is Ray Ayotte (pronounced Eh Yacht) sitting in for Maxwell Smart... Right chief!... Now back to some refreshing ambience.

    • @willswitchcraft
      @willswitchcraft  Год назад +2

      GAS IS true love.........honestly, I truly love my Cosmos, but the Microcosm and some other pedals are also excellent. Remember, the Cosmos doesn't sync to any other gear, and doesn't have any preset. I'm really into it, but I'm really into what you do, no matter what gear your using. It's always more about the user, than the equipment

    • @m.g.kroger

      @@willswitchcraft Oh, man... I rarely sync any gear to each other, to have an unpredictable response in large soundscapes... you know... ATM I'm experimenting with a DL4 MKii before the Microcosm and a Collider after... wow... so many sounds happen... Soon I'll record some, if I don't get lost while dreaming.

    Thank you so much for the tip about setting the noise gate. Will bookmark this if I end up getting one of these. My only hesitation is (lack of?) sync - how do you sync this, especially rhythm-wise with your other gear? I may have missed the sync input somewhere. Or is this more of a "embrace the non-sync" sort of kit? Which is beautiful too. :)

    • @willswitchcraft
      @willswitchcraft  Год назад +1

      Embrace the non-sync........that's it in a nutshell......otherwise, you might want to check out the Microcosm....an excellent pedal which creates incredible textural effects, fully MIDI capable, with presets, full stereo........

    So Will, should I buy the Cosmos or stick to the microcosm?

    • @willswitchcraft
      @willswitchcraft  Год назад +1

      For your purposes, I think I'd stick with the Microcosm........I really love the Cosmos, however it has no presets, and doesn't sync with other gear (no MIDI, no connectivity for that at all).....because of the way you work, my guess is that the Cosmos wouldn't be as useful to you as it is to me...................................
