    Hadn't been too interested in the cosmos until now, Really like what you did with it here

      Thanks, it is a great sound designing or performing machine... I will be doing a live score during an evening where people will tell their written stories... that will be great with the Cosmos!

    I really wish that they would upgrade cosmos so you can at least pick a point in the progression to save loops to recall... As it stands, you have to record everything to try and capture usable parts because there's no way to recreate anything if you don't... I've borrowed cosmos, but I won't buy it until it has this loop saving/recall ability... 💥

    great to hear someone digging into this firmware to see what it offers (I've had the rhythmic firmware in my box for over a month now.........loving it) a great upload..........very interesting, unique and playful........

      I put all the firmwares on their own usb, so I can easily swap firmwares on the fly... it is really cool! The sound, the quirkiness, I love it!

    • @willswitchcraft

      agreed........for me, the '4 in 1' type thumb drive is the best option......all the Cosmos firmware on one unit

    • @SupahDupah
      @SupahDupah  2 года назад

      @@willswitchcraft How do I do that? Is there a thumb drive where you can switch the "root" of the drive?

      A while ago I saw (online) a little X shaped unit - a cross with 4 different thumb drives, physically connected.....wish I could find it again, now that I have a use for such a thing

    About cosmos , can you switch from one firmware to another very quick , or does it takes time to do it ?

    • @SupahDupah
      @SupahDupah  2 года назад +5

      It takes a bit... you need to turn off the unit, put in the usb, hold a button and turn it on... it can be done in 10 seconds... but not without audio drop ;)

    Have you had a chance to compare the SOMA to the blooper or microcosm pedals? If so, curious what you think.

      @@SupahDupah oh yes ! I might even prefer this clunky unpredictable silence / staccato thing from the original firmware… at least comparing the two first beats and the last one… mine is on the way… can’t wait to pair it with all sort of things ! Keep up the good work ! Cheers

    very cool video. tempted to buy a cosmos. My only gripe is how to use a loop/creation made on the cosmos in a song or project in a DAW in terms of synchronisation to the rest. How would you approach this? I know there is no midi sync but perhaps a workaround?

    • @SupahDupah
      @SupahDupah  Год назад +2

      Well, I would make the loops and record them, and then in Ableton warp them correctly and add other stuff to it... I am actually thinking of making some loops with my 909... playing live into the rhythm cosmos and then extracting cool beats out of it... will make a video of that :)

    • @SupahDupah
      @SupahDupah  Год назад +1

      Yes, I do… I actually did a meditation set once with a lot of accoustic stuff… charanga guitar, voice and also (samples of) a pan drum… very beautiful soundscapes were the result! 👍

    • @SupahDupah
      @SupahDupah  Год назад +1

      With very steady hands and the same workflow, you could get close… but the more ‘effects’ you do, the more complex it gets. Hope this helps?

      It seems like it runs solely on loop length algorithms to imbue your performance with rhythmically phased phrases. You can probably approximate something simple, but the fun is when things get complex. It’s pretty much Steve Reich in a box.
