- This is the first video in my new series exploring riding locations in Italy, France and Scotland. This video is in Paganella bike park in the Dolomite mountains of Italy. I hire a Santa Cruz Nomad for the day.
The trails certainly push me to the limits of my skill.

Loved it. Lots more to come.
Fantastic Lance ,some gnarly jank there but surely no Harder than shred the poodle 🐩! love the Càr check 🤦🏻♂️ 😂 turn your fax on and I’ll send you a photo 🤣 looks like super fun enjoy 😊
Thanks for a good belly laugh first thing in the morning Lance. Scenery and trails look awesome
The scenery is mind blowing. Just heading out for an e bike ride.
Fantastic!! Thanks for sharing Lance.
Thanks for supporting the channel.
Surely a candidate for best day ever! Wow what a place 🎉
Thanks Lance, looks amazing. Like your self driving car. 😊
Thanks. Now I just need to convince Jacqueline to drive it for real.
I live in Verona glad you liked it!
Verona was beautiful.
I'm heading to Italy in September and I may need to change my intinery after watching this vid... awesome work as always Lance.
Have a great trip. We are spending all our time in Italy in the mountains as that is what we like.
mustve felt good being watched completing a gnarly section :D
When I say I am not a show off, I may be lying.
Oooosh nice to see you riding an acoustic!
I really enjoyed it. Great bike.
Outstanding location Lance. Glad you have finally seen the light about Santa Cruz, we have ordered your Audi. 😂
It was a great bike. Very expensive rental but hey that is Santa Cruz for you.😂
Perhaps a Skoda since he's not so brand compliant yet 😂
Thanks for showing trails in a location that I can probably only dream of riding looking forward to the rest of your trip
Yes, I realize I am incredibly lucky to do what I do. I hope you enjoy the rest of the videos.
great car tip!
what a great trip you're on
Yes, always drive on the side with the steering wheel.😂
Thankyou Lance. Great video. Can't wait to ride overseas. Bike park Wales, Scotland and up in the Alps. Send it !
New Zealand is awesome but it is very exciting riding in completely different countries.
Great vid Lance!
Nice one Lance. Good to see you are having a great time there. Look forward to the next one. 🙌😎🫶
Just had a big morning on a Mondraker Crafty. Emptied the battery and my legs.
Great vids Lance, Looking forward to seeing you at Woodhill.
Thanks very much. Will be back in September.
Great video definitely a gnarly ride so different to nz, ive been laid up with an ankle injury so its been one dads army video after another, very much appreciate your work, i think you have a pretty good idea what we viewers like watching by now. Have a great holiday.
Sorry about your ankle. Hope it heals fast. I am determined not to injure myself on this trip.
Nice Lance!
Great video Lance . Oh how you've progressed since the early Zerode days . Looking fwd to the next installment
Thanks very much. Never too old to learn new skills.
Thanks Lance for sharing that first episode of your Holiday ride . It definitely looks amazing definitely different from New Zealand trails and including the mountains etc . I’m so looking forward to seeing you both on the next episode. Are you planning on posting up every Saturday night or twice a week like last time
Will see how we go regarding uploads. Don't want to spend the whole holiday editing. Have been on several scenic rides with Jacqueline and didn't film as makes for easier day out.
Cool as lance. Still stuck in NZ 😅😅
Soon as you turn that GoPro back up the hill it shows what it’s really like 👍🏽
Must admit the gopro loses all sense of just how steep it is.
going to paganella on thursday. i'm closing 806 this year hopefully!!
btw, where is the apt you rented located? I stay in a hotel usually but would definitely consider a setup like that next time. do you have a link or a name? Thanks
The place was called Casa Solaris. Just a nice couple who had an apartment above their place. Very friendly and super helpful. We booked it through booking.com
We like apartments as they have kitchens and often washing machines. We eat most meals in the apartment. Saves heaps of money on food and drinks.
Hey lance, enjoying your videos, would be real cool if you could put some nz prices up of accommodation, car and bike hire etc.
Ok will see what I can do.
Beautiful! I can definitely relate to “You’re not as good as you remembered…” 😆
How long does it take you to adjust from e-mtb to mtb, given the difference in weight & handling? Great video thanks! 👍
The biggest differences is the lack of power when you stall on the rocks and the bike is less stable in the air and more likely to pitch you over the bars. The Steam bike is easier to maneuver in some situations and is certainly easier putting on lifts.
I understand OTB, though I find myself equally adept at it mtb or e-mtb... 🙄
Awesome stuff! Very interesting surface was it super grippy?
Grippy when dry but scary slippery when wet. After lunch it rained and I did a black. Nearly threw my toys out the cot. Sadly most of that footage was lost but big video still to come.
Loving 🥰 the travel tips and Nz prices thanks for showing us the ropes. Trails look looooong from the top. How many laps did you do in a day? Was that a bday? Do they have toilet 🚽 paper 📄?
@@bestdayevermtb2 dji will be a good solution for lost footage
Lance, are you planning to visit Tuscany as well? Let me know as I do live in Tuscany
Sadly that is not on our plans. So far have no rides with people organized for Italy. This ride was awesome but I would have loved to have ridden with other people.
Not cheap for a steam powered mtb but amazing trails
That is Santa Cruz for you. I could have got an e bike cheaper.
Geez must be some manhours in all that woodwork. Looks and sounds kind of like you might be thinking about getting one of those non engined ebikes for back home. Oh and I tjhink you may need to work on your Italian to english translation. I may have a solution to your not liking Skiddy. Think of it as technically technical and you know you like a bit of technical
I need to work on my Italian and my riding.
