On thin aluminum i can see using the less hotter gas. However if its a thicker piece you have to heat up so much of the area around the weld to help heat disapation from getting the weld area up to temperature to work.😊
Thanks! Good info. Getting ready to start my first project here in Fort Worth, TX. I guess I could wait until Summer when everything is hot enough you don’t need a torch. Ha!
please re-read your question... do you burn a gas or a liquid? propane is a gas. yes you can burn propane. now if you want to use liquid propane, you need a double detente gas regulator, lower the pressure from 250 psi to less than 5 psi, then lower it again to the burner required pressure which should be 3.5 in water column or less. That setup is very expensive and requires to be done by a certified gas technician. the easy way is to use a blue propane plumbing tank or a green camping tank, of your need is for heavy-duty and long-lasting, you should use a propane bbq tank with a special turbotorch mostly used by roofers and 12 feet of hoses. Any setup bigger than that will be ridiculously expensive.
@@joelpichette thanks for the answer, 9 months earlier i tried to braze with jewelers torch attached to lpg. It does not get the job done. I did not want to spend money on any harware so just glued the parts with epoxy. The parts were 2mm thick aluminium sheets for a lighting fixture.

Glad I watch this seeing that aluminium melt that quick I was like holy crap
G'day mate, what flux do you use to braze aluminium?
is low temp alluminium welding rods are good on cylinder head? on exhaust port?
I was wondering the same thing
Very helpful... Thanks for sharing...
I have a question,
How do I stop the cow running away when I'm trying to collect the methane ?
you need a Binford 6100
LMFAO
Put the cow on a treadmill. Worked for me
Sweet. Great vid. I did buy some 4mm rods, but my butane struggled to get a melt up. Would 2mm or 1.6 be better
Slightly, but in the end you still need the base metal up.
Good man keep it up
Can i use lpg?
