Just received my order for these welding rods. Browsing YT to see how to use them & found this video instead. Well, am not surprised with the results. Anyway thanks for the informative video.
I was thinking to try it, but first see it on RUclips. thanks what u did, just wonder how about if you warm first the metal or aluminum and welding it ?
Tried them out under the kitchen exhaust, still felt like dying from the toxic fumes and the whole appartment smelled like I burnt it down. Still gonna give them a second try, I just bought them to fix my broken clothes horse. As far as I can tell it works by igniting a certain compound within the material that brings the aluminium particles up on temperature (exergonic reaction). But maybe it needs more time to cool down than you gave it idk.
I can see the solder (it's not welding) still burning after the flame is removed, so clearly a wax or plastic base. Aluminium powder is just there for looks. Thanks for the warning!
I got low temperature welding rods that were very thin. I could not melt it with a torch. Oh well, it was $2. I can use the rod to hang things up when I paint.
You need to heat the metal after cleaning/scouring if its going to have a chance to even stick to it. That's no welding by the way, brazing/soldering at best, but again not flux nor preparation is not really adequate, so don't blame the materials. Same with the galv tube, you need to clean it first. But yeah, those rods are crap anyway
That Things Just A Normal Hot Glue... But It Is Mix With Aluminium Powder Just To Make It Looks Like A Metal... But Actually It Is Not... A Normal Hot Glue Will Have Bonding Strength More Than This One.... Regular Hot Glue Got Higher Durability... Thanks For The Video Boss!😊✌🏻
Thanks for the vid, had a good laugh. Especially how easily the parts came apart at the end. Typical chinesium product that somewhat kinda looks like the real deal, until you actually try to use it lol.
Not sure what product you are using but you may have better luck if you heat the parent material until it will melt the stick instead of heating the stick
True, but he did exactly as described in instructions. These ads regarding this product are all over the place. Seen them myself and came close to ordering. Rule of thumb: if it seems to good to be true, it is.
You should try aluminum rods from harbor freight or a better quality. I braised several thick pieces of aluminum together and they held. You’re not cleaning anything up really either
i mean like copper water pipes at their connector edges.... as i have some leaks there, so maybe this can help to seal between plastic and the copper pipe.... i guess it can work for such purpose. 🤣🤣
Those low temp rods are fake. The genuine ones, you need to heat up the aluminium to around 700c for the welding rods to melt on contact & bonds as strong as the rest of the aluminium. They don't work on steel or any other alloys except aluminium. Also, you don't apply heat to the rods themselves & the fact some of them were still burning after removing the flame, tells me they're fake & shouldn't be used at all, because who knows what harmful chemicals are burning out of them. I've been buying mine from Temo, now & again eBay when I need them. The size & look of them should be long, thing, shiny & not looking like a block of old lead. Been making stuff out of aluminium with these for a few years now & made a wind turbine for the garden 2 years ago using wielding rods & it's still going strong.
@@TechondoReviews Any other way to send you a link? I've tried 3x posting here & they just keep removing the entire post. Best I can do is google Aluminium 4043 or 4043A welding rods & they must be flux-core or they're not the right ones. Temu sell them which I tried to link you but this place just remove the post. As long as it says flux core aluminon welding rods, they should be the ones. Should look like shiny metal rods not a dull grey.
Firstly, you need to Rough Up the Surface that you're trying to Stick Together.... Then wipe it off with Acetone or Alcohol.... Then you need to Pre Heat the two Surfaces... Then apply a little Heat to the "Welding Rod".... Then go back and forth applying Heat to The "Welding Rod" and whatever your "Welding"..... They work A LOT better when you use Common Sense and Prep the Materials you're working with... They work good for anything that you would "JB Weld" or Epoxy.... Now you're NOT going to fix a broken Truck Frame, or Repair anything that requires Structural Integrity, but they work well to Repair Water Pipes, Plastics, Nail or Screw Holes in Sheet Metal, Stuff like that..... And no, I'm not defending the "Commie Chineses".... Haha!... "Chi-Nee-zeez"!!... But they work okay for certain things....
Thanks for this honest review man, i was a bout to place order just a couple of minutes ago. So, I guess I will have to forget about buying this.
Did you clean the pieces you tried to weld? Like did u use a wire brush and then wipe it down with alcohol
No I didn't, but I will try it...Thanks for the advice..

Amazing! These things are great for jobs like reinforcing towers, buildings, or truck frames. It's so easy! Great video.

does it melt again if you apply it to an exhaust pipe ?
If the work pieces being joined together are not melted, it is not welding.
These are soldering rods and they are probably quite toxic.
No China would never sell us anything with lead in it.😵
Thanks for the advice..
Thank you for sharing, I was going to buy one of them.
Thank you for your videos it helps not to get it
LOL....
The reviews that I appreciate a lot.
Thank you!
Wish I’d have seen this before ordering some!
They come in lots of different colors. They're called crayola 😂😂😂😂
😜
This is an EYE OPENER .... thanks for showing us.

Never seen them so thanks for the heads up.
thxs for imformation. you safe my money
Thanks for the info! Almost bought one... looks like crayons.

@@kbl4758 Horse shitski, caveat emptor my guy. The only way to learn is to assume our own stupidity, THEN there is nothing to blame
Hahahahaha ,thanks I needed a laugh.
Yeah I laughed to.....
More like a low temp hot glue 😊 but without the glue 😂.
terimakasih sudah mengulas dengan jujur produk ini

Estas barras son para cosas que no necesitan esfuerzo:tapar un tarro con un agujero, fijar algo liviano, etc.
If you are just melting the rod then the base metal is not melting then you are soldering at best.😀
NIce; car frame fixed.
Thanks
Thanks for your video. However I already bought this and found out it doesn't stick. It's really fake.
Maybe used as a filler on a leaky exhaust.... or not.
Great idea....Thanks
Thanks for super information
Looks like Lead, and it burns really easy like Lead too
Excellent ❤
Its a fake, you seller on this product is a scammer. How many buyer youve fooled on this.?
Thanks for the review men
😂 I have some too. I bought from AliExpress. I was hoping they were gonna work. But what do u except for $1 😂
Look it is wax with aluminum powder (or ultrafine glitter). It would be more suitable for film maker props to imitate the look of real welding.

maybe it can be used to seal some gaps, could hope that it would be any water resistant? haha

I was really hoping for a good review.. I need to do some welding, but it's literally right next to my fuel line, like..2cm from it ..aaaaaah damnit😢
Might as well buy the 2tb sd card, every single one is junk. Except the 400gb one because nobody at all said give me the hardcase muder card.
Yes I use this
Don't purchase waste ammount
I’m shocked it’s way better than I thought
get the right rods and do it right and they do work

Terimakasih videonya... aku mau beli seperti itu dan gak jadi beli
It did look to good to be true.
Its funny😂
The material to be joined needs to be brought up to temperature otherwise it is a cold shut
The joint has the wax consistence. Can be useful tò close holes but nothing more

Looks like sodder or something similar
It's just like a crayons 😅
Awesome. LMAO
Only good for covering small metal holes
BIG THANKS. 😄😄😄hahaha
I think they're meant to connect wires as a replacement for soldering iron not to weld heavy metals together !
Online note: Perfect welding effect
That's crayons 🖍 😅
...💯...😉
😂😂😂😂😂haha tq for the review
I think you're supposed to heat the metal first
Maybe, I'll try it...Thanks
Its a frekin wax mix with plastic and color. What u expect bro😅
It's like hot glue with aluminum powder mixed in
The instruction said to wait ay least 4 hours to completely dry out. Maybe you should give it a try again.
Pretty ballsey (or stupid) putting heat to galvanized, especially indoors.
Im very stupid for doing that.
give them more time , perhaps they are stronger
I'll try that..Thanks
i just bought mine. such a disappointment if that would be the case.
Thank you, you help me alot not buying it.
These are largely made of silicone
Waste of money and deadly health risk!
It should be banned worldwide.
I agree totally...
Perfect video... and a solid waste of your money
lol cool mask bro
LOL Thanks
So sad, they would've been cool if they worked well.
God bless.
China?? Wonder if their ships are fabricated with these??🤔🤔
Lead
That melting plastic smells so bad I can smell it all the way here
Well test. But stop testing anything anymore. You did not do the cleaning job 😂
ok
dude, dont you know to blaze? you suppose to heat the metal and let the rod melt from the metal
Thanks for letting me know...I'll try it..
lol
I would let them sit for 24 hrs to make sure they're fake
This is a timbals
I wish I had watched this video before buying it. Really it is definitely waste of money. Dont buy it..
Thanks for the video..
At first glance it seems similar to hot glue gun. Its not welding
LOL silver crayons?
Yes I agree
Its only good if you know how to use it correctly
How would you use them more correctly?
