As a bass player myself, I love how Ian Hill has not moved from that spot in almost 50 years.
Magnets.
Man is comfortable in his tole to say the least. Just wish his tone was louder.
LMAO. HAHAHAHAHA. LOL. HAHAHAHA. FUNNY AS FUCK
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
😂😂😂
And using that same rocking motion from day one.
When you're Rob Halford, you enter the stage however you want.
That's the definition of The Metal God
@@Gatz22 You are 100% correct.
Great comment!!
Damn right
From what I hear he liked to "enter" from the rear.🤣
Electric Eye without The Hellion intro is like going to pick up a pizza without ordering first. It's not that it's sacrilege, it just doesn't work that way.
🎸🎸🎸🎸
My thought exactly.

My mom wouldn't let me go to this concert, because I was only 14. She said it's just sex, and drugs and drinking... and she was absolutely right. Lol
I guess my mom was kooler ,i went with some friends that were a little older but I was able to go with them 4 of us ,was at Worcester Ma. hooked ever since never missed a show after that. wow 14 was a long time ago
I saw them, and there were a bunch of people outside of the venue talking about Jesus, holding large crosses, and I am sure telling us what sinners we were. :D
Yes it was! I was 14 also.
I took my brother at 13, Judas Priest and Whitesnake it was his first ever concert and 36 years later he still remembers every second of it. So cool.
Worst part is 14 year olds went for that as well and everyone turns a blind eye to it.
About time you hear a good song! Now, try The Sentinel by Priest, you won't regret it!
@@sebastianmoses717 ?
The fuel for life version pleaseee
Yes the 1986 live version 🤘
So so good
Victim of changes, screaming for vengeance, and painkiller.
You have to hear Beyond the Realms of Death by Judas Priest, my all time favorite
Edit: The Hellion must always precede this song
Asthma Attack23 And "Riding on the Wind" must always succeed it.
I was fuming when he started the video and it was already the end of the hellion
It boggles the mind that when Rob Halford came out in 1998, much of the metal world was totally surprised. I mean, look at him! Even in the late Seventies he dressed like someone out of the Village People. :D I think he's amazing and one of THE defining voices of metal, period. I couldn't care less about his sexual orientation, just to be clear. I just find it so damn funny that noone saw it coming when he made NO effort whatsoever of hiding it.
yeah when Rob Halford came out as gay, most fans response was "that's cool, can you play painkiller next?"
we had it figured out around '88. There were a few homophobes, but for the most part, we liked Halford because he did bad-ass vocals on bad-ass songs
The triad: Sabbath, Maiden and Priest!
Absolutely!!
The Heavy Metal BIG 4 : Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest and Motorhead...
Fuck yeah! Up the Irons!
@@adamhendrickson512I have to put Metallica ahead of Motorhead, but it's a close call!

What a line up for this heavy metal day at the us festival !!!!
I was lucky enough to be at this show for my 21st birthday.
ROB HALFORD also came out on a Harley for one of there songs.
🤘IT WAS HOT IN DEVOR THAT DAY🤘ed
Funny watching the young being exposed to 80's rock/metal, sadly, they won't get it, even with YT. EVH ROCKS.
Yes it was hot. I look back on that day as one of the best days of my life. I was 19 at the time. Glen Helen regional park in Devore. Thanks Woz for losing your ass but you ended up doing pretty good for yourself!
React to 'Victim of Changes', that's an absolute masterpiece song.
Has to be victim of changes Studio version from sad wings of destiny album
My favorite JP song
UPVOTE!!!
THIS MUSIC IS A MASTERPIECE!
Totally agree with you
@@TheDude-pr6ug or live at the same show we're watching
"us festival 82'"
You have to get the FULL EFFECT by starting with the intro "The Hellion" (the tail end plays at the beginning of this clip) leading into Electric Eye (which you listened to), followed immediately by "Riding on the Wind" (the drum riff that begins at the end of this video). Halford's vocals on Riding on the Wind will slay you.
Bonus Points, listen to "Screaming for Vengeance" from the same show (US Festival 1983).
Electric Eye is nothing without The Hellion opening. Greatest concert starter EVER.
Finally a judas reactiooon!!
You should listen to more judas, they are a great band, the metal gods
He's already listened to Painkiller - it's a great reaction video! :)
You should have listened to it with the Hellion intro, one of the best intros ever
When i was a kid i couldn't and didn't want to listen electric without the hellion , what an intro lml
It's like we will rock you before we are the champions or eruption before you really got me. Gotta have it
To this day I still don't understand why they're 2 separate songs. Made it such a pain to include them in a playlist I wanted to play on shuffle. Same with Heavy Duty and Defenders of the Faith, though it's the outro instead of intro.
@@jaega4247 i concur. They should just be one track
Also should've listened to the studio version.
2:35 "Look at all those people." I was one of them.
US Festival 2 (1983) Heavy Metal Sunday.
300,000,000+ tickets sold for that day - the only day that "sold out" during the weekend, and this was when metal was considered underground by the record companies.
I was 20 years old and at this Show in 1983. I've been to about 150 Concerts since than and this One still the Best and Most Fun from what I remember. Priest and The Scorpions killed it that day. So good.
300,000 hard rockers there, San Bernardino 1983, surprised I remember all that, I was somewhat inebriated during quiet riot and motley crue, when priest came on I got a grip on reality again, they had been the band that made music mean more than having background noise to me. Great show, great time.
Breaking the law. Beyond the realms of death. Living after midnight. Priest is AMAZING.
I’m from Reno Nevada and both priest and beyond the realms of death have a bit of history in my home town
Florida DroneWerks isn’t it weird that the beginning of pain killer sounds like living after midnight
Alucard Murcielago lol I never noticed. But I guess if it was sped up
I'm from Reno and remember the trial. JP started their tour here as a thank you for the support then came back 15 years later and asked who in the crowd was there for that, thanked us again.
Hey I’m from Reno too lol My first show ever was priest and queensryche at the outside amphitheater at the Hilton haha
@@rayday4141 That was the show where Rob asked who was around for the trial and he apologized for not coming back sooner.
This is from the 1983 US festival In California. Van Halen was the headliners. Judas Priest set Was pure fire.
Priest are one of the greatest bands ever. They've been around for almost as long as I've been alive! Rob is the Metal God.
This is one of my very favorite live versions of any song, but particularly Judas Priest. This is them at their apex.. Just legend.
You're just talking about the Metal God, the one and only Metal God.
The song Metal Gods implies something different :D
But he's definitely A metal god!
Metal has many gods. Dio for example is naturally one of them, simply by name (and ofc his goodly contribution to metal).
The one and only "Metal God", acknowledged by all the rock/metal scene, is Rob Halford. Of course there are some other legends such as Dio ou Bon Scott, among others, but Halford is the only name that will come if you ask most of people.
Boris Ketou Lemmy rivals him
@@der_jannik_0115 I'm not talking about talent, I'm just saying the name "Metal God" refers to Halford, every metalhead knows that.
It's 80's hard rock/metal, it blows anyone's mind who didn't live thru it, I'm 57, so, yeah, it rocks. US Fest '83, watch the rest of Metal Sunday.
Awesome choice of song. Love this. Glad you reacted to the live version.
Dude! Unbelievable! Today is our 25th wedding anniversary and we had an INCREDIBLE time! Our kids came over, we grilled quesadillas, bonfire, stories,...it was awesome! Wife went to bed, I went to RUclips...and here you are...Judas Priest, whatever...Our best friends live outside of Houston. I'm proud of what you've decided and support you! Good God, I just found it funny you had a Judas Priest vid on my anniversary..Ha!! God I Love life!!!
Yes!! My Dad had Screaming for Vengeance on cassette (still has it LOL), not many pre-teen girls were rockin' in the car with their Dad to this! Devil's Child ❤🤘
Hell Bent for Leather!!!
US Festival '83, i was there, i was 16, I'm aging myself lol, to this day the greatest concert I've ever attended, just look up the band lineups, incredible, i believe i paid $20 for the ticket..... oh JP kicked ass!!!!
When Rob Halford came out and everyone lost their minds and couldn’t believe that a metal dude could be gay, he said ‘the hat should have tipped you off’. Legend, man.
Kim not just the hat, but all the leather, studs, and whip as well lol.
He was the reason everyone during that era started metal looks to their style like metal studs etc
He is the godfather of metal! Fuck sexuality!
he he yeah, there were definitely clues :) Rob is a bad ass, and a true metal god 🤘👊
I’ve always said who cares the classic heavy metal front man He is a legend
This concert was in 1983. The US festival was a 3 day concert with each day focusing on different genres of rock. I was 15 years old. I remember it like it was last week
Judas Priest - You Got Another Thing Coming
All priest is good priest. Check out Painkiller by them.

He already had! 😁
Good selection. Any Judas from the 70’s or 80’s you can’t really go wrong with. Rob rocking the leather and shades look.
That's from the US Festival 83 I was there in Devore Ca It was there my first concert .Heavy Metal Day 400 thousand fans !
I WAS THERE TOO!!
US Festival 1983, 400,000 people for the three day event. The 2nd day was Heavy Metal Day, which along with Judas Priest, there was Van Halen, The Scorpions, Motley Crue and Quiet Riot. Priest kicked all matters of ass at this show. Glad you like Electric Eye, you’ll like other songs off of Screaming For Vengeance including Devil’s Child, Bloodstone, You Got Another Thing Comin’ and the title track.
After almost 40 years, still one of the finest metal albums ever made.
I was there 1983 US Festival...Metal Day. One of the best concerts ever. First time seeing Priest live. Very Epic.

19. Victim of Changes- Live from Unleashed in the East.
20. Hot Rockin'.
There's a good start for ya lad.
Peace🤘
P.S. That live footage was from the 1983 US festival in California. That was day 2 called "Heavy Metal Day". There was an estimated crowd of 300,000 to 500,000 people there. There were a ton of bands that day. Quiet Riot, Motley Crüe,Priest,Ozzy,Scorpions,Triumph,Van Halen etc. Good times indeed sir. Full on metal.
It was Judas Priest that got me into metal.. I was 5 years old and I listened to Ram It Down on Vinyl... The rest is history
Thin Lizzy - Emerald
Double guitar attack before Maiden even formed.
Priest also formed before Maiden and also had double lead guitars....
How can you never have heard this song!?!?!! Top 10 classic priest songs!!!!
Play the title track!!! Screaming for Vengeance... Excellent track!!! The name says it all
Wow. Both Judas Priest and Orwell 1984 predicted/depicted the future.Great classic JP
Then Halford chucks his hat and glasses
Into the crowd.
Bet there was a fight over that.
When Rob Halford goes into another octave stratosphere with ease it gives me chills.
Awesome!!! Now we're talking. You MUST do a reaction to Judas Priest "The Sentinal". DO IT!!!!
Oh, Thank You Alex for reacting to this! Brings back GREAT memories of when life was easier and metal was just SO CLEAN!
Their concerts were awesome!
Always especially in the 80s
@@robertghanem4908 OMG yes! Always a good opening band too. Those were the days! I wish I could take younger folks back!!
Priest are absolute legends. You hear so much about Halford and his voice and front man stage presence but they are so much more than just that. Tipton and Downing wrote some fantastic riffs and their metal was just so easy to get in to and addictive. An awesome band.
AILD did a cover of this song
That was the one I heard first. First time hearing the original here actually. The cover's better (by AILD) IMO.
Some Judas Priest songs to react :
-Rapid Fire
-Here Come the Tears
-(Take These) Chains
-Yo've Got Another Thing Coming
-Turbo Lover
-Metal Meltdown
-Angel
-Living After Midnight
-Beyond the Realms of Death
Always a treat to see the Metal God in action
Judas Priest - Hellrider live (Rising in the East). One of my all time favorites personally. The solo shreds so hard but Glenn Tipton is so smooth.
Pink Floyd "Welcome to the machine" Greetings from Argentina.
So right about being in that "live" element. It's all about energy and, clearly, it comes through on RUclips as well. Everything is energy. Peace, brother.
That was the US Festival look it up on Google and you'll recognize some of the biggest names in rock
I was there for both years. Amazing times
First cover song my band learned back in 88. Showing the age.😉
Now you should check out the studio version because The Hellion leads right into Electric Eye.
Heavy Metal Day”, at the '83 US Festival. It set the single-day concert attendance record for the US with an estimated 375,000 people. According to google :) Glad to see you showing my favorite band some love !!
Try "Desert Plains" by them
The live version really shows off Robs pipes (vocal range)
Best song of the "Point of Entry" album
It's not just the kind of music, but the ability to make a style, a niche, a musical hook. Instead of looking like every other band and sounding like other bands. That's why you heard (and still hear) more about Priest, Maiden, Sabbath and such. Word of mouth (before the days of instant Internet) is the greatest marketing tool.
The best guitar tandem of their time, K.K. Downing and Glenn Tipton
I've seen Judas Priest live 3 times, never disappoints!
Me too!
Same. Philly!!!!
Wait until he comes our with his harley on stage. Hell of a moment live .
Funny this song was telling the future back in 1983. Look where we are now. Metal is the most prophetic music there is.
I am waiting for the two most iconic songs from judas priest, The Sentinel and Painkiller and also one of my favorites, No surrender.
Greedings from Greece.
He already did Painkiller ages ago, check his channel
🇬🇷🇬🇷
Judas Priest and Rob Halford have such a special place in my heart. They were the first heavy metal band that I really got behind and claimed as my own, and Rob Halford was the person whose coming out story made me start realizing that being bisexual wasn't something wrong with me that I should hide. Judas Priest fucking rips and I will fight anyone who comes for Papa Rob.
I can tell you that,,, that day was one of two long days of metal, that was the US festival San Bernardino CA,,, I was 16yo,, OZZY, Scorpions, Motley Crew, Van Halen, JP, and many others. Yes ,his entrance was bad ass. Too bad they don't do those anymore. David lee roth messed it up for any future show.. but,, I was at that one,, and it was awesome
That was an amazing, legendary week of music...
Eric clarke,, what was the group that disappointed you ,,,if you remember
Those two guitarists are two of the most renowned, respected players on the planet. Glen Tipton & K. K. Downing. Of course Rob Halford is the Metal singer template by which all others are judged! He can Blast several octaves!
You seriously need to go see bands like Judas Priest and Iron Maiden Live when the world returns to normal.
I’ve seen both, but my husband hadn’t been to many concerts before we met. I’ve taken him to several over the years. FINALLY had tickets to take him to Judas Priest in Vegas next month, but STUPID COVID it got cancelled!
I was just binge watching your channel because I'm isolated 4 thousand miles away from home and needed to listen to some music and then all of a sudden you drop a video with one of my favorite bands. Thank you, Alex!
BTW, that's Rob fucking Halford, the metal GOD!
Rust in peace... Polaris
Comments are good for the RUclips algorithm.
You have GOT to watch/react to Screaming For Vengeance live (from the same concert as this)! You'll really hear Halford's voice!
And you have to watch all live performances!
Try some Rob Halford solo "silent screams" or Resurrection "
"Betrayal" aswell, if he reacts to that song, Im betting he's gonna sit there with his chin on the floor the whole time, Robs vocals on that one are INSANE!
Hells Last Survivor and Made in Hell are gems too!
US festival 1983,300,000 people there.
I love your dog looking around like "wtf bro?"
When "The Hellion" is attached to this song....it's just bad ass! One of the best metal intros EVER. Saw them in 2019 and at 70, Halford can STILL hit those notes!
He dressed like a leather daddy for years and no one suspected...?! Wow.
To be fair, back then we *all* wore leather and spikes. He just had a little more... glam... to it all. Well, and the cap. And the whip.
My girlfriend at the time was soooo in lust with him. She was heartbroken when she found out he was on the other team.
@@MrJest2 When WHAM! hit the scene, I was dating a girl that was nuts over George Michael. I knew immediately that he would NEVER feel the same way about girls the way she felt about him.
She would get SO heated when I pointed this out.....like ANGRY!! It's not like I was mean about telling her either. I was just simply pointing out the obvious.
I wish I could have been there years later with a "Tried to tell you / Told you so" look. I love handing those out, even though it's a pretty rare occurrence.

I was there that day. The crowd was estimated at somewhere north of 300,000.
Love seeing the back of a guys guitar neck when he's playing a solo 😅.
This video is of their performance at the US festival. Here's what can learn for tomorrow. Although the attendance for the four day festival in 1983 was 670,000 people, heavy metal day alone had 375,000, the festival still lost $12 million dollars. Also, sadly, there were two reported deaths.
I remember this was the first time hearing Motley Crue. The festival was broadcasted live.

Listen to the studio version and you can hear the ‘I’m made of metal, my circuits gleam’ line sounding Metallic/Robot-esque which makes it sound evil AF. So cool!
Yeah this is one of those where the studio version is so much more radical. I'd only go for the live version if I was actually there.

I saw Judas Priest 8 times in concert. Kickass show every time. Rob's voice was amazing each and every time. The whole band was always on point!
Just too bad it's not one of the ones where he comes in on a motorcycle.
Yes, they are just bad ass! Please do Victim of Changes from the same concert or Live Vengeance 82. The band that put metal into heavy metal.
So, if you have a request, I had someone (probably a Patreon, slumming in the comments section) inform me that Alex's Patreon's have first call on ALL of Alex's requests. Basically, if you're not a Patreon he could care less for any of your requests. Now I KNOW, that Alex DOES get some sort of financial gain from his regular views, but those viewers are still just NOT THAT IMPORTANT to him. THREE WEEKS AGO, after the "Use My Voice" video I made a request for "Break In"That request got TWO HUNDRED likes. Alex has not done a reaction to that song yet. So that's where his regular non-Patreon viewers stand in his estimation. Pretty sad isn't it?
How about it Alex? Is it really that hard to make a reaction video for your (unfortunately, non paying) fans? 0__0 👍👍👍
👍
Sure patreons get first dibs, but that doesnt mean he completely ignores other requests, three weeks may seem like a long time to you but can you even imagine the number of requests he gets? How do you expect him to get to every single one of them? He's only human and not even a full-time youtuber....
Be a little more whiny and entitled, why not?
@@AHVENAN It's not a single request. It's a request with TWO HUNDRED likes. Look at it as TWO HUNDRED requests for the SAME song. It can't POSSIBLY be that hard to make a video that TWO HUNDRED people want to see. I find it VERY difficult to believe that making a video is that time consuming or complex that he hasn't been able to make the time to do it. And when it comes down to it this is only an opinion, right or wrong that's how I feel.
@@justinbremer2281 I just call it as I see it, it's just an opinion.

Listen to, Defenders of the Faith or British steal You wont be let down! 🤘
My very first concert was Judas Priest "Screaming For Vengeance." The only caveat was that my dad had to go with me. I was 14. 😆 My dad brought binoculars with him. Halfway through the concert this guy says to my dad "Hey man, I'll trade you some hash for those binoculars " 🤣🤣🤣
My very first rock concert was Judas Priest, they started the concert with "Solar Angels" and Rob driving out on stage on a Harley, that was so loud I couldn't hear for a day. It was awesome.
That’s sort of Halfords thing. He did it to perfection in the Fuel for Life tour with Out in the Cold.
A few years ago, Rob sang the first verse backstage under the drum riser and took an elevator/platform lift and suddenly appeared on stage over the drums to sing the chorus. Priest put on a hell of a live show.
I had the extreme pleasure of seeing Judas Priest twice in the mid 80's. It was totally amazing....
I can't believe you didn't let it cut into the next song, Riding on the Wind.... the best damn song on the album.
I love when people use the US Festival videos, I was there. 15 rows deep on Glen Tiptons side of the stage. 1983, 7 days after my 17th birthday it was one hell of a party weekend. Quiet Riot, Motley Crue, Ozzy Osborne, Judas Priest, Triumph, Scorpions and Van Halen. 350,000 metalheads partying in the desert. Incredible
This was 9 o’clock in morning priest were first on and blew the crowd to pieces
You have got to watch the '82 Live Vengeance version of this song. That whole '82 Memphis show recording is my favorite recorded concert of all time! The whole show is awesome. Halford up in the lighting rig singing "up here in space looking down on you", walls of Marshall stacks...definitely Priest during their most iconic era.
He usually rides a motorcycle into the stage. Guess it's in the shop.
