Impressionistic Floral Garden Painting

Here's a little peek at the way I use a silicone wedge to create my floral garden paintings. I use acrylic paint. The background of the painting has a very blended, diffused look which I am able to achieve through many layers of glazing. I think this would be my most favourite painting. When you glaze do you use a glazing medium or water? I’ve been reading about it and I don’t know which would be the best.. 🥰

Thanks for the compliment on my painting. When I glaze, I use glazing medium or sometimes retarder. Either works. Just use a small amount of paint with your medium. You should not use water for this technique because it will become blotchy if you try to work it too much and the thin layers of paint might pull up off your painting if you add another layer over it. In order to achieve a smooth glaze like I do, use medium.
