You are extremely talented! A couple of questions…where did you use the paynes gray? How do achieve the foggy look when you apply the white flowers on top of the other flowers?
@@carriewall5431 Thank you. I use Payne's gray to tone my greenery and deepen other colors, such as creating a deep, dark purple by mixing it into quinacridone magenta. I give my painting a misty look by adding in glazes to soften my edges.

@kathleen_rietz_artist I just started painting last December because I wanted to make my daughter's and Granddaughter's something for Christmas. What a beautiful painting Kathleen❤ I’ve been trying your technique but seem to over work it. I’ve been using a filbert more, I know the wedge is amazing but I find it harder to work with. Going to try using the corner or a silicone brush instead. Thank you for sharing your technique here on RUclips.
The wedge is not an easy tool to master. I always believe artists should have fun experimenting and trying new tools and techniques, but always seek to find their own style and what works for them, not copy others. When it feels natural to you, you will know you have found your style.
I usually have an idea in mind regarding composition, but I also give myself permission to change it if I want to. I use a mix of planning and intuition. I don’t use references except on occasion when I paint a more specific flower such as hydrangeas.
Your art work is so Beautiful and Dreamy looking, I love it! Maybe you have answered this question before, but where do you get your plastic wedges that you paint with at?
Very beautiful, could look at this painting all day! Question: what brand and type of glazing liquid do you use and what is the consistency or viscosity of it before you mix it with paint?
Thank you. I've used both Golden and Liquitex. I do tend to like Golden brand glazing liquid a little more. It's hard to compare the consistency to anything...it's sort of like retarder, but dries a little more quickly. Hope that helps. Thanks!!
