Great video Mr Roam. Andy doesnt deserve all this drama..... I'm happy it's been properly redone now so Andy can enjoy a trip out with you guys with his own vehicle and makes the videos easier to capture. Keep on bringing the great content👌
Wow Adie - what a surprise to see the Isuzu in such good shape. Big thanks for the Ammo box holder from Bushtech. I certainly have my confidence back in the ISUZU
Dealing with mechanics is never easy. Most of them don’t know what they are doing. Hope you guys find the right guy to sort out everything. Wish you all the best!
Good to see the D-Max coming along nicely. Not good hearing what's happenting though. Finger's crossed you guys are on the right path with good companies helping out.
Very True bud about going to specialist who work with a particular brand of Vehicle. Very hard to find them but they out there. Those vehicles are solid if well maintained. I like the brake upgrade but i have to say i am a fan of the power brakes that you have fitted on the Toyota, (Proudly SA). Just a note, consider doing a caliper refurbishment if they were not replaced. The front ones will sieze in a closed position overheating your brakes. Most vehicle require this every 8 to 10 years but the OEM does not tell you this.
Yup; that’s who it went to now and I can say this vehicle is driving like a dream at the moment. I haven’t let Andy drive it for a week 😂 I’m just loving the low down torque so much
@@RoamOverlanding I had the same 3L previously and I enjoyed that engine so much. I now have a 2.5L Isuzu and I'm itching to get it mapped because the low-down torque is almost non-existent. Probably also going to Gio for his mapping when I'm up in Jo'burg haha
Amazing Video Adrian, it's horrible to see what has come about with Andy's rig as I have the exact same rig, but double cab and had many similar issues.. Literally last week I reconditioned my slave and master cylinder for the clutch because it also went flat... but as some people have said in the comments, these bakkies are bullet proof and are underrated in my opinion! I am so excited for this series because I have been looking everywhere for inspiration for my rig and it's hard to find quality content like yours! Can wait to see how the suspension kit looks! All the best
I feel what Andy is going through. We also got an old Isuzu double cab (not 4x4) and we've been on the flatbed from Witbank to Midrand. Had the engine re-done at the engineers now we are battling with the cooling system. The car just won't stop overheating. Keep up the good work, keep creating some awesome content whilst enjoying the wild.
Sounds a interesting project hope is all good for your mate Andy. I’ve just started a project on a 2001 Ford ranger, overall is good truck but as you would think bits need replacing and the updates I would like to do. Just slowly tick along though it and enjoy making something cool. Go steady Sam
Wow guys ,shame it is terrible what you had to go through . Those vehicles are bullet proof though and it is time to reap the fruits of your labour. Hope you get a good trip under the belt.
Oh mate, that's gotta suck. After all those initial efforts to get it fix, now it's broken again. I hope you have found some really good and honest specialist to help you guys out now. Looking forward to the day, when the Dmax and the Hilux do some overland trips.
Looks like that day will be coming sooner than we all expected! Been driving the Isuzu around and it’s driving like a dream; just needs some new shocks!
The engine is all good! The problem has been with turbo’s mainly… and poor workmanship on the reassembly. But it’s running like a dream now, so the latest guys did some good work!
Seriously love your videos, but I can't get my head around the "budget build" concept. Maintenance issues and the costing thereof aside, fitting REDARC, Lithium, Aluminium Canopies, Terrain Tamer products etc. is not "budget" in my opinion. Budget in my mind would be an inexpensive, yet reliable / effective DC-DC / MPPT charger combo (e.g. WRND 20A) vs. expensive / premium REDARC, Deep-cycle vs Lithium, Fibreglass vs. Aluminium, maybe Bilstein / Gabriel / Monroe shocks vs. Terrain Tamer etc. etc. Again, love the content, but I don't think this is a budget build - rather just a "not over the top Isuzu overland build" gone wrong.
Budget doesn’t always mean cheap. Sometimes it also means something that’s serviceable, lasts a lifetime and only needs to be bought once, or is actually cheaper in the long run. Hopefully I’ll explain it right in the videos.
Can I please just recommend selling the vehicle and rather getting a newer Isuzu this bakkie is beyond viable to repair again going forward. At this rate what's next and you can't put a price on confidence with a vehicle. The owner deserves peace of mind. Please help him. You should get R150000 for the bakkie a newer Isuzu should go for around R250000
I hear you and we have been to that point a few times this. year already. But this bakkie is driving beautifully at the moment and most of the problems seems sorted after its last visit to new mechanics who are isuzu specialists, so hopefully we are good from here out!
As somone who's been thinking of getting an older Isuzu lile this one. I'm glad I found your channel and taking notes from the problems you faced.

It's going to be an awesome vehicle once all is done...the lemonade has all been squeezed out 😉
Dealing with mechanics is never easy. Most of them don’t know what they are doing. Hope you guys find the right guy to sort out everything. Wish you all the best!
this is going to be a best of a vehicle. i cant wait to see the convoy of two Hiluxs, a Cruiser and a bloody Isuzu😼
Good to see the D-Max coming along nicely. Not good hearing what's happenting though. Finger's crossed you guys are on the right path with good companies helping out.
Hopefully we are rocking and rolling now 😎
Terrain Tamer rules...love their products

If the engine was done by Giovanni, you should be sorted. He's quite the go-to guy in the Isuzu fraternity. Can't wait to see the rest of the build!

Awesome to have Andy’s build back on track. Interesting from Roelfies top speck build to Andy’s budget build.
I like the contrast between the two; those both have their value!
Yeah we need comparison
Great content Adrian!! Andy your Isuzu is back on track after a long sabbatical… can only look forward!
Keep making us happy!

Well I wish you luck!! It’s a great vehicle once it’s all working!

Nothing quite like checking off a bunch of things on your list 👌🏻👌🏻
Amazing how much of a difference new tyres make to the aesthetics
Hope the Isuzu is 💯 now pity the previous owners and garage stuffed up a good bakkie, keep strong and enjoy the bakkie
Can we buy Andy a new Dmax? We would be happy to donate one to him.
Hahha 😂 who wouldn’t want a new dmax 🤭
Alot of bad luck for poor Andy. Hopefully that sour lemon will turn out sweet in the end🤞🤞
Amen!
That Isuzu is starting to look sexy! love the new shoes..... And Andy looks happy....
Name and shame. Some mechanics don't care and they don't take responsibility. Once you pay you're done.
Lovely to see another video upload. Keep it up. Those Isuzu's are a bit of a hit and miss. But once all the quirks are attended to, they will last.
For sure; I’m so surprised how smooth and effortlessly the engine operates even after all the abuse
Wow guys ,shame it is terrible what you had to go through . Those vehicles are bullet proof though and it is time to reap the fruits of your labour. Hope you get a good trip under the belt.
I hope so too!!
Nice its coming together

You look very stoked😅 You should sell the Toy and buy yourself an Isuzu... more mechanic and repair videos.
Hahaha 🤣
🤙
Eish😢
Are you not able to buy a complete long block from isuzu?

How dod they ruin this modern Day bullet prof engine
A careless Mechanic can do amazing things 😂

If you cant do it yourself dont do it… Take a weekend watch a load of “how to videos” on youtube and get a few beers and just fix it self…
