Used the FixD my parents bought for me on my 06 trailblazer. It told me the cam position sensor was to blame. I bought the new part, installed it , and it's working great. For sure worth $20.
SaintPatrick33 that’s fantastic.
Where’d you find it fir $20

I clicked on a roller coaster video and the Fixd ad came up. I was like, I need to check this out 🤔🤔🤔
Interesting. Hopefully the video was helpful.
Great review bro, I was on the fence but you answered my questions and had info I haven’t heard anywhere else. Thanks. 💯💯
Rodney Davis thanks.
Effective and friendly evaluation of the FXID auto diagnostic tool. Good job, thank you.
Ahmed Kamel thanks.
How do you download the fixapp to your phone
Very visually and auditory pleasing and this answered my questions about the fixd sensor. Thank you bro
foxface16s great!
Ordered one yesterday and after watching this I feel like I made a good choice.
Just ordered mine. Thank you for the in-depth reviews.
Enjoy.
Best review so far,I think I'm going to order mine now.
Thanks
Hope you enjoy it!
Thank you so much for this honest review 😅👌
My pleasure 😊
Just got mine for 20 bucks. With this review it was a no brainer!! Thumbs up!
that's fantastic!
Thanks for the review, was very sceptical about ordering one but after watching your video it helped me breath easier on placing my order. Thanks again
Glad I could help!
I just bought one. It works for me. Used it on three cars, caught one issue. Mainly it shuts off the engine light... a rich fuel air mix or something.
That's the answer I was looking for! Thank you.
Thanks for the review! (Nice Tough Mudder top - fellow OCR) :)
Nice!! I love Tough Mudder!! Completed 5 so far.
I was looking for a good review of the app, and this was perfect! Thanks!

@@DiaryofaFamily great job but what came close as it competitor?!?
AwesomeBlackDude there are many options to read the OBD on your vehicle. I’ve only really tested the FIXD device. I know there are cheaper ways to read it. Many require a mechanics understanding to read it, and other do similar to what the FIXD system does. Do a search on amazon for OBD. and read user reviews.
Pretty good video, I have a micro mechanic and am not impressed with it have been thinking about getting the fixd tool. I have a few other things to look into, but overall you did well.
Thanks.
Hello, I've been a Fixd user for 3 years now and I love it! About a week ago, my fixd sensor detected that my purge valve needed to be replaced. I took it in and had the repairs done, but I was informed that my computer would need to be reset/updated as a result of the repair. I noticed that my Fixd no longer communicated properly with my ford fusion since the repairs were done (it shows about 13 random fault codes with no check engine light) It passed state inspection just fine, but it bothers me that my obd no longer works with the on board computer updates. I took it back to my auto mechanic who stated that my computer was programed correctly. he also stated that one of his older obd scanner did not work on my fusion either since it was updated. He took me out and showed me that there were no fault codes using a newer obd scanner and I left satisfied that he wasn't covering up a problem. He recommended I purchase a newer obd scanner and he advised me not to plug in the fixd again since it's no longer compatible with the computer updates. Do you know if there is a way to update the fixd scanner instead? I really like this tool as it tells me exactly what wrong and about how much it would cost to fix. I really don't want to give it up, but it shows all sorts of false codes whenever I try to use it since the purge valve was replaced. Thank you for your time.
Have you reached out to FIXD? An OBD II scanner is an OBD II scanner. I’m not sure why he thinks that the FIXD will no longer read it. My guess is it’s either a software issue with the app, or possibly a component went bad on the dongle.
Thanks for the review
Hi. Thank you for your video as I have been considering buying this item. However, one of your commenters posted a link to the BBB and I thought I would take a look. Well, one of the responses from the company to a customer was that the device "can only read the check engine light." They said that they have indicated this on their website; so I will go there and read what they say. Anyway, the response was to a customer who used the device and saw repeatedly that there was no problem, but there actually were a few and it seems they may have escalated, but he said that the device gave NO indication and kept saying things are fine. But, he had no check engine light on.
The thing is I know I need diagnosis of any issues regardless of the check engine light, especially in light of the costly repairs I have made recently, some of which may not have been necessary, as well as possible overcharge. I didn't have a check engine light on with these particular issues.
I was hoping this would help me to assess real car issues and what they should cost.
One thing that I try to remind people of is. this works in tandem with your vehicle. It doesn't control it or give data input to the computer. So if someone is saying that it's the FIXD apps fault that they aren't getting a check engine light then it seems like their vehicle is to blame not necessarily the app. the FIXD system isn't a one stop, fix all program. There are most likely better systems out there and cheaper systems out there. What I do like about this company is they are actively trying to improve their product.
I'll get it. My car is known for being almost needed no mainatince but I rather be safe than sorry
All cars need maintenance man

robert mac I can imagine.
Great video man
Glad you enjoyed
Youre way underatted dude.... you're awesome. Keep up the great work
What about other Lights does it pick it up?
I like your presentation and your sincerity is refreshing. As someone who is always dealing with car issues for myself or to help friends and family, I'm buying some kind of code reader. But I wanted to ask you since this is the best review I've seen for this device, what makes this idea a better option than just any other cheap OBD II reader? I know a lot about cars but I'm not a professional mechanic. However, I have proven a few of them wrong as my videos have shown. But I just threw away $50 for a read from a guy very lacking in his professionalism as a mechanic! I should have bought my own reader! But I'm reluctant of this because I'm not very crazy about phone apts! lol But I did enjoy your video that gives me something to think about! In all honesty, I don't take every mechanic's word as gold. But I have found many of them are really trying to serve and not swindle! You'd make a good sponsor for this product! Keep it up! The public needs to be armed with good information!
Common Sense Tips And Tricks thank you. I try to be honest and fair with the reviews I do.
Does it diagnose when there is issues that does not have check engine light on??
Happy with my FIXD. Well worth the $20.00. I use the free version, but may pay for the premium in the future.
that is great
Does it give you codes for abs, how do you know if it has right pins for your car
I would go to auto repair places for them to check a check engine light, the first thing they wanted to do is use their diagnostic machine which cost between 40 and 80 dollars ,depending where you go, not anymore, I bought the fixd app scanner.
How is it working so far? Nd does it have live diagnostic readings? I'm looking for a good obd scanner
In Autozone is free the scan service
A reputable shop uses pro level scan tools like Autel which costs around 3 grand
What if I have a light that comes on in my dashboard but the engine check light doesn't come on can I still run a diagnostic with FIXED to find out why or whats wrong?
Ainsley Clarke it’s possible. OBD system talks to the engine and it says if there’s anything wrong. That may include other warnings. I’m mean if a high temp comes on you know it’s getting too hot, if a battery light comes on then it’s probably the battery or alternator.
Welcome to the RAM family brother.
95 Berry thanks. Haven’t regretted it yet. Just pulled our 40ft trailer 2900mi to Louisiana. Our 3500 never skipped a beat.
Diary of a Family : I see you’re using it with your diesel truck, but is it designed to work properly with diesel engines?
Thank you for sharing!
Happy Man this system is designed to read the error codes that your engines system gives you. That way you’ll know when you go into a mechanic it will help diagnose the problem. They type of engine doesn’t matter.
I've been inducted into the RAM family myself, 16GB of DDR3.
DarthVadent haha. Funny.
Thanks!
Sorry for bothering with this question. With this scanner, are you able to read ABS/SRS and calibrate steering angle sensor?
I haven't seen that specific meter. But the live gauges may have that in there.
The video was perfect so take my like and subscribe cause you deserve more. Ima buy one too now
david vargas right on!!
In need work about this..?
Does it see "Wheel Speed Sensors" in motion? Live Data feedback and actuation with live tests? Does it see what my scan tool can see?
There are some live functions. I think a lot depends on what your vehicle monitors. But I’ve used a few of the features.
Will it read abs trouble codes. You know when the check engine light is not on but the abs light is?
Google User I have not had that error on my vehicles. It may be possible.
Do you have to have a check engine light for it to work
I have a ‘99 F-450 diesel. I notice this review is being performed on a newer diesel. Anybody know if the device will perform in a limited capacity, if at all, for my old truck?
Andrew Muraszewski I believe every vehicle after ‘96 has a Onboard diagnostics. The OBD II codes that your vehicle / light truck generates will be read by this.
Hello sir if my van has a A/C problem does it work with the Fix’D Tool?
Chris Playz Games it all comes down to if your vehicle can recognize the issue with an AC.
Can you check o2 sensors? Does it say which sensor should I replace, my truck has 4 sensor idk which one I have to replace. Thanks
I know on our vehicle it could tell us which cylinder was misfiring. It’s possible that the computer on your car can tell you which o2 sensor was malfunctioning. The FIXD system reads the error codes your vehicles puts out.
Thank you sir
You're welcome
Very good video
Phil Chapman thank you.
So would this be better to keep plugged in full time? My car is lighting up EPC ,engine light and drive in limp mode. Regular OBD was giving code not to my car. I have a VW CC which are slim to find. I just received my fixd today going to use tomorrow. I’m sure dealerships will try to charge 3 to 4xs cost just to put on diagnostics.
We leave it plugged in all the time. It won't hurt anything.
Works good but if you agree to the now $5 a month for the premium and use the free week trial as soon as the trial ends they charge $70 for the whole year not the $5 a month you sign up for
Where did you hear that? I have never had to pay a premium fee to use the OBD Reader. I even tested it with a different phone using a different email address and did not come up against a paywall. Would FIXD prefer you pay the premium, yes. Is it required though? No.
Again... not sure why everyone doesn't have one! So worth it.
Our Epic RV Adventure its a fantastic tool.
I have a question, do I leave it in forever? Or do I only put it in when a light comes on?
Either or. We leave ours in. But it doesn’t make any difference.
You said there's a subscription fee? Can I use any of it without doing that?
Does the app have oil pressure on the gauges option my jeep doesn’t have the oil pressure gauge like most cars do but it sure has the idiot light that goes off so I’m just curious if it has it thank you.
I believe it does.
Did not work on my 2000 Chevrolet truck but seemed to on my 2016 Chevrolet truck. The 2000 did have 3 faults but there was nothing wrong with my 2016. I got my refund.
Sooo only shows you what's wrong when a check engine light comes on? My truck isn't running right but no check engine light so how can this help me.
I just got this device. Ran a scan on my ‘16 Explorer Sport 3.5 eco boost. No check engine light but is saying I have an over boost issue. So it will notify you of issues that may not throw a light on the dash. Hope this helps
Hello do you have to pay a monthly plan or just buy the device and download the app?
You have the option of paying for the premium service but you don’t have to
I got a “service due” on dashboard of 2017 Audi Q5 2.0 TDI, can this tool erase it?
Probably not. It’s not a OBD II code. That’s probably a service center reset. I’ve never been able to reset my change oil notification from the FIXD.
Wait, so does the Timeline feature only show what should have been done or what was done too?
Juan Carlos I believe it’s really the recommended maintenance. You can put additional info like how old the better is and when you put your tires on. I believe it calculates those and recommends maintenance or the like.
@@DiaryofaFamily Great! Thanks a lot for the info.
My auto is LT Cobalt 2007 52000 Miles.Just had a mechanic which lied to me about a price. Another mechanic was 433.00 less. Can I use fixd on this model. It sounds so awesome !!!
Beth Lind the Fixd system reads the OBD off your vehicle. It is a universal connection. Works with any vehicle that has it.
Can you reset & turn the light off if you fixed the problem.?
You can reset the check engine light. If you've solved the problem then the computer shouldn't throw the code again
Hello,
I installed a new exhaust manifold, catalytic converter, and downstream o2 sensor on my Pontiac Vibe; I still have a p0420 code.
Will FIXD pinpoint the exact cause of the code, or just give a list of potential causes?
Is this product comparable to a tailpipe exhaust monitor?
jeffj1701a it will list some potential causes. But mainly it reads the code your vehicle reads.
jeffj1701a I’m pretty sure the tail exhaust would be a different tool. unless your vehicle can read the exhaust levels. There are live gauges that give you stats on different systems.
Does this allow you to calibrate blendor actuators when they are replaced.
The app has a few live monitoring features. but it won't calibrate anything.
Would you recommend this device when shopping for a used vehicle ??
Qaseem M man that’s a good idea actually! 💡
Very smart idea indeed
my question: what if i have no lights on, but i feel like something is wrong with my car. Example, the struggle when i accelerate and certain noises i know aren’t good. Will this or anything on the market tell me what the issue is?
Samuel if you’re car can detect an issue then this should be able to read the code. Any car built after 1996 will have this system built in. I’m sure that newer cars will be better at recognizing a problem and letting you know. We recently had to get a cylinder misfire. The check engine came on with a vengeance. If you have a issue that your vehicle doesn’t diagnose then just take it to a mechanic.
Diary of a Family really appreciate your response. thank you
Samuel you are welcome.
Can someone explain if this require monthly/yearly subscription? I read other reviews that the standard pay unit doesn't show really fully work without the subscription.
Jason S all I can say is what I’ve experienced. The functions of the unit are included with the purchase of the device. You can pay for extra features. I’ve not had this not fully read a OBD code and say that you have to pay to find out more.
U can do a monthly or a yearly subscription
Christian Watson absolutely. However it’s not required to use the base features of the FIXD program.
Very informative. Is the Fixd device what your showing a new version? 🇬🇧
Zee zee 6 I have the original hardware. It’s a Bluetooth dongle that plugs into your vehicles diagnostic port. What I showed mainly was the software portion that is attached to your phone.
2007 GL450 Mercedes battery continues to die will fiixd work for me?
It really depends if your vehicle can detect a problem.
Hey will it pickup if the transmission is slipping???
I know I can feel it myself but will the device show that?
streetlegends2007 if your vehicle can detect a slipped disc and register it on the vehicles computer then it will read the code.
@@DiaryofaFamily cool beans man. Thanks
My friend had a scanner, I was having issues with my car and we could not pin point the problem until the problem area died on me, anyways he plugged in his scanner in my suv and it did not come up with any error codes or anything wrong with my vehicle even though I knew something was not right, a long story short, it was my fuel pump that went and his scanner did not pick up on that, do you know if FIXD would pick up that problem before it died on me? Or say any other car part like an alternator, distributor, catalytic converter etc, would FIXD find that problem before the vehicle part would die on you?
It really comes down to what your vehicle can detect. the FIXD is a OBD II reader. Some vehicles are able to detect problems that others can't.
@@DiaryofaFamily thanks, my suv was acting up for a few months and we couldn’t figure it out until it completely died on me, i sure notice the difference with a brand new fuel pump in it compared to how it was before, I can’t recall when but it was pretty gutless, no power at all,
Does this also plug into & work on an Audi? Thanks
marcia greene the type of vehicle doesn’t matter. It’s standard on all vehicles 1996 and newer.
It wont read my air bag light
What does the registration consist of and how much is it? What are the requirements to own a FIXD?
Once you buy the FIXD all they need is a email and password that you create. Then you’ll have access to the OBD reader and other features. Then with the premium subscription that has additional features. But is not required
Thank you very much.
Drone shots was nice. What drone are you using ?
Dji mavic pro platinum. I’ve linked it in the description
The company states it doesn't work on diesels; how are you using it on your Ram 3500?
Maybe there are referring to semi trucks? We’ve been using this for 3+ years with 0 issues on a 1 ton diesel.
Hey. Do you have to deal with a monthly payment ?
No. There is a premium service that is monthly. However that’s optional.
William Esteban - A monthly payment plan on a $59 tool ? And how much is the monthly subscription plan for the unit ? What extras does it provide ?
I use a knockoff brand of this device because I know how cars and computers work. This device actually should be used by people that don't like to get played like a fool at the garage. You can get a check engine light for your gas cap being loose then a garage charges you 60 dollars just to plug in to a 'scanner' to extract the faults. Save yourself the hassle.
AutoZone has a scanner and will scan your car for free.

Would this be good to have when going to buy a used car from someone?
Possibly. But it will only identify a problem the vehicle has noticed.
@@DiaryofaFamily
Can you elaborate on that?
I want to buy a used '02 Qx4 infinite wouldn't this tool identify all non cosmetic issues?
Is it not that you have to subscribe monthly or yearly in order to use it you only have 7 days trial period if not cancelled you will be charge.
Charged for what? We’ve had this device for 2 years and have never been charged. There’s an option for the premium service. But it’s an option.
Diary of a Family hi because every time I used it for a vehicle it’s pop up the subscription.
No lining up Canadian Tire stupid shops , those boys drained my small pockets 🤣🤣 squirrels
Will the gauge mod show turbo psi??
I believe so.
Do you leave it in all the time or just to scan the codes?
Conny Bjaaland you can do both. I use it on multiple vehicles so I usually keep it plugged into one of our vehicles most of the time.
There are some live functions that you can use while driving.
Theres alot of bad reviews on this product on Amazon. Is this really worth it?
We’ve been using it for 2 years. We haven’t had an issue.
Does it work on diesel cars too?
The authors vehicle wasa dodge ram cummins
It should work on any car that has an obd II port which should be any car after 1996 or so
Looks legit but the Ads that I saw for this were super sketchy, using obviously fake actors pretending to be surprised and everything...
Can this fix security issues? My sky redline put itself in theft mode.
No. you can read a error code on your vehicle and clear a code. that's it.
I know this is an old post but my GMC Acadia recently did the same with Theft Mode...Dealership keeps telling me it's this its that...did you ever figure out how to fix your problem?
So this cant check live data on the throttle position sensor etc. Cause it was in the red on the video. That sucks
Sorry to hear that.
Can this detect abs speed sensor? Thx
AznPotna510 if there’s a problem with the abs speed sensor it will most like be read by your vehicles sensors and then by the OBD reader.
Does it show fuel pressure?
Carol A the live gauges do have an option for fuel pressure.
Everyone talks about how easy it makes it to show your mechanic what's wrong, but I want to talk to another car person who's used it, that can say if it clears codes, if it's accurate, how the app interface is and how it compares to standard OBD2 code readers
I’ve used it for almost 4 years now. I’ve been able to clear codes easily. I usually will make a note of the type of code and either screenshot it for future reference. Since it’s only as smart as your vehicle it can’t predict problems. But knowing what the code is for that check engine light will help you and the mechanic. This reads codes just like every other obd reader. Since that is standard across the industry. What I like is the ease of use. They have live gauges that are pretty accurate. They have other features in their optional premium services that would benefit those who travel a lot and also use it for business.
My fixd doesn't do anything. I don't even get the screens you get on your app. I followed all directions. It scans, and I keeps telling me there is nothing wrong, and my air conditioner in my car is not working.
Linda Peets have you tried contacting FIXD? It may be a hardware issue.
you mean the fixd itself, or both of my car's?
Linda Peets the maker of the FIXD app. It could be a defect with the devise that plugs into the car
I guess I should return it for another one then. Thanks for the tip>
If it is a electrical issue that doesn't give a service light then fixd will not read it... Like a blown fuse as such...
How much is the optional monthly subscription and what does it add ?
This link will give you that information. get.fixdapp.com/premium/home?gclid=CjwKCAjw_sn8BRBrEiwAnUGJDvfn5BcLsWzs8Yiob3PxXQJlmNneASoqlynbY_chND4khWBuk184ihoCh4UQAvD_BwE#Buy-Section
Or $69.99 a year or $8.99 a month. There are a few cool features that it includes. Including expanded live vehicle monitoring. You’ll get access to a mechanic hotline, access to FIXD approved mechanics, pre-emissions checks and more.
Do you have a video that shows how to hook it up?
My first review shows you how. However it’s really simple. On most vehicles there’s a port that is under your steering column near your gas and break pedals. It does vary from manufacture. This may help. www.carmd.com/obd-port-location/
does this work on diesel cars ? thanks
Yes. We have a Dodge Ram 3500 that we use it on. All vehicles after 1996 have the OBD II system on them.
@@DiaryofaFamily its just that I've seen on some channels won't work on diesels

@@JediStockTrader I'm sorry that you had that issue. I'm not a mechanic, this tool is mainly designed to read errors that your vehicle is giving out. So if your car doesn't see it then the app probably won't see it.
