I had a serious problem with not setting the hook so when I started fishing because I was using inline spinners so much. I retrained my muscle memory by jigging single hook soft plastics, preferably barbless so that if you don't set the hook you wont land a single fish. Really forces you to set the hook eventually 😅👍

Theres a mad stream near me ive always wanted to try catch a fish out of theres a big concrete slope that shoots down into deep hole its over 8 foot deep but about 4 foot wide its just really hard to get to
@@SnaggedBro you can probably get them online pretty easily look up mepps aglia or black fury spinners there’s various weights you can get them from Amazon or like fish USA or bass pro shops but idk if you guys have lure restrictions but if not you could get different sizes for different rivers and other species will bite them too
Wouldve thought that for a fish with the dentistry a Pike has the jaws wouldve been tougher to handle the grips. Lifted fish here to 25-30lbs with them and never seen any damage. Granted we dont get Pike here in NZ (dammit). But we get a lot of toothy critters. Any bigger and I lip-gaff them for release.
Yea I guess for certain fish it could be OK. I must admit I don't like to use them, and Pike can be handled safely without them. But each to their own. We all have different preferences and customs to the way we handle the fish we catch 🤷🏼♂️
