I'm in the middle of organizing the craft room: first room in the house and it's all because of you! It all started with the gutter video, which I'm using for my paint and ribbon. BUT GUESS WHAT!??!? I FINALLY FOUND AN ANSWER TO MY FLOWER PROBLEM! GUTTERS! Upside down gutters - we're drilling holes in them - it's cheaper than anything else and the flowers finally find a home where they DO NOT GET SQUISHED!🤪💯💕😘 I'm so very happy 😊 you are here!
"A ton of fun" has many definitions. YIKES~ It's all in the 'can-do' attitude, like a game challenge. I've learned so much and changing my attitude from being overwhelmed to 'I can do this'
For the first time in my life I have an extra room that is my craft room - yippee. And I picked the spare room that faces the back yard where I’ve planted a flowering garden and added a bird bath. While I don’t have my most used items on a wall in front of me, the joy I get from looking out at my garden while I craft is worth it.
I love the before and after organization videos. They seem like magic to me. I just can't seem to visualize things like you do. I look at my piles and feel like I'm being asked to spin straw into gold!
I appreciate your organizing examples I can identify with!! We are moving and my craft room will be shared with the computer! My husband is LESS than happy but you have challenged me to make a lot of good decisions!
How exciting! I love new spaces - sit in a chair and literally think about what you will be doing. Imagine reaching for things and what you will be doing at that table/desk. This really helps to plan and realize what storage systems you may need. Keep me posted!!!
I got up right after watching this video organizing my craft area. It wasn’t messy. I reorganized my supplies and fabric. Now it works even better than before.
I’m downsizing, more accurately I’m simplifying. When my parents passed, I ended up as the keeper of memories of our parents, grandparents, and, in some cases, even great grandparents. As much as I love these things, I just can’t keep them all. So for my new home I’m only taking what works and it’s working out great. I’m also using so many of your organization ideas. So thank you for the ideas, inspiration and for the day I found you on RUclips. Keep up the wonderful work you do. You certainly have a calling and are helping people.
I can so relate! My dad was so sentimental and was really into family genealogy, so I have boxes and boxes of photos from the past 100+ years. Oh, and he loved taking pictures, so that added to it, too!
Have watched the video twice and will revisit with a pen and paper, lots of hints and tips to take forward with me, I have a whole house to declutter, and the gardens! Only found you a little while back but already binged on your videos to get so much inspiration, thank you so much Norinne.
I have used the tile game analogy for years!! It's so much fun to me to see someone else make that comparison. It's also a lot of fun to see chaos become calm in these before and after examples. They provide hope and encouragement that my own challenges can go beyond just being met. ~ Elizabeth
The sewing room shows me just how truly talented you are. Please show more like this...especially the bulls eye area because that's my weakness, always having to get up to get something because I just don't have the items near me and can't figure out how to do that so i's functional yet attractive. You are the best Norine!!!
Rolling carts! I made an ironing board on the top of one. And, yes, it is wonderful to relax and sit a spell and just sew fabric together, while listening to an audio book or something.
Norrine, you area very patient saint. My anxiety level would be through the roof. When I get that overwhelmed, my mind just shuts down and I can’t focus, or basically my body shuts down too. I can’t even cry to get it out. Im just paralyzed. Luckily my husband understands and protects me. Things were so calm and regimented when I was a kid. My mom was a Sargent in the Korean War. I just wasn’t used to chaos, even though there were four of us kids. We didn’t scream at each other. We spoke calmly to each other. As wonderful as all that was, it just makes it hard to live in the chaos that comes with this world we live in. So, I’m so impressed that you can dive right into it and fix it. Love you, Norrine.
I am always inspired to do more crafting and organizing when I watch your videos! I get discouraged sometimes when my health issues flare up but then you come along with a new video and your beautiful, smiling face and I am totally encouraged again!
Thank you Noreen for this encouragement. It really helped me to actually see other messy then happy organized spaces! I'm a visual person, and this spoke volumes :) love to see your smiling encouraging face. Here's to 100,000!!!!
Love this! Inspirational and yes, a few A-Ha moments. Time to consider the bullseye in my craft room and move out some things from desk area. Will set the timer tomorrow and try one area. 😊 Thank you!
This was so helpful. I love your slide puzzle analogy! I have 2 rooms in the lower level of a split entry ranch to sort/purge/organize and not a lot of room to spread out to sort. I have stations in my craft studio so maybe I'll try to organize by station instead of staying overwhelmed looking at the whole room.
It is overwhelming. Keep it to short, focused sessions. Either keep it to a set time, or a set amount of items.... But try and sort what you can ahead of time and have an idea of where things will go either temporarily, or long term. This way you're not holding something and asking yourself, 'where do I put this'. :) Trust me.... I've done that! LOL
I love the before and afters. Although, I have to say, as a quilter, I do not get up to iron. I have an ironing board that I constructed on top of a rolling cart. I cut holes in the plywood for it to sit on the top shelf, and covered it with batting, 'insulbright' (the stuff inside potholders), and flannel on top. The other two shelves hold the iron and spray starch, etc. I roll this over to my machine and happily sit there listening to audio books with my fabric on my left, the sewing machine in front of me, and I have rolled the ironing board cart to my right. TIP: Don't twist your back to turn and iron! Roll the entire chair....or you get an owie. Now, for ironing yardage, yes, I have a standard size ironing board. Thanks for another great video!! I see that lots of people have a thick wool mat....and I'm wondering if I could shrink up a bunch of wool (which I have) and make one of those. They are pricey! Idea for another video???

Murphy's Law of sewing: no matter how much fabric, and how many spools of thread you have, each next new project means you will not have the exact right color of thread! :-D Corollary: the bobbin will always run out of thread 1/2" before the end of a seam, or right in the middle of a long seam! (Someone needs to invent a bobbin case that holds an entire spool of thread, so the upper and lower threads are equal and this can't happen!) ;-)
I tried to engineer a sewing machine that holds a full spool of thread. It doesn't seem like it would be hard. Commercial machine builder has profit, time savings motivation to get the job done
This is content I enjoy, definitely! I'm working on my place and find it inspiring, even if I am not creating a sewing room, or organizing a garage. I live in a 1-bedroom apartment, and so I take the concepts and scale them down to fit my space. I especially enjoy 'small space' organization before and afters, as you can imagine. Thanks for all your great work!
Apartments are hard, those storage 'aha' spots are hard to find... So you have to create them. You can share pictures to my Crafty Organizer page on Facebook: facebook.com/groups/730125317461615/ My group is amazing and we can help with suggestions!
What a perfect time to see this video, I'm in the midst of organizing my sewing and craft room combo. You have so many incredible ideas to make life so much easier. Thank you for all you do
You are soooo right about having to touch things more than once when planning organization. My entire house has crappy storage from small closets to just non existent storage. I have come up with idea after idea, after idea...but I am getting there. I am still working on my craft room and can't wait to send you pictures. You are truly an inspiration to me and your videos have helped me tremendously!
These are amazing transformations. I love how you did an office in the closet! I'm going to have a sewing nook in my craft room now!! Thank you so much for the great idea!!!
Thank you so much for all of your tips!! I look forward to watching your videos...reason being is I have a very small craft room...it is actually a loft above my living room. I struggle with trying to organize it. I really don't have vertical space and not much floor space either. Sometimes my craft room is so discouraging that I don't even want to craft...anyway enough of my ranting...lol...thank you for all you do!!
I LOVE LOVE LOVE YOU!!!!!! I have about 8 wire shelving units-I have extra shelves left over I wasn't sure what to do with. I needed more units but your idea has saved me money I don't have. YOUR NUMBER FAVORITE FAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My room went from over 2 1/2 car garage to 8x 11 sweet studio off of the kitchen with French doors. The walls and closet ( including door) I’m in with sending 11 boxes sent to people who were starting out. I was a 22 year scrapbooking crafter and home business as a home interior designer. Creating primarily window treatments and bedding. We had a home built (2022 sq feet under roof. ) my walls were used by putting up inexpensive but very sturdy shelves. Nothing on floors
I really was interested in this video! Great ideas! I have reorganized my sewing/craft room a couple times, as my main interests have changed. Probably will use some of your ideas next! Love all your videos!
I am organizationally challenged. But these videos give me ideas for cleaning up the office and my closet. I am really having trouble with my bathroom. I did throw away a lot of makeup and things I haven’t used. I guess I have to go through my tubes, bottles of body moisturizing lotions.
Brilliant ideas. My favourite is the one where you made an office from a closet. Brill ideas. When I first started watching US organising videos it took me a while to work out what closets are, because in the UK most houses are a lot smaller & have wardrobes.
I am almost finished my craft room set up. I now have to decide on a desk design. I am waiting to see how I use the room. Using your tips I have been able to relocate and organize a 21 by 13 ft area from a woodworking shop to a sewing and craft space. I am already using the space although the carpeting does not arrive until, next week.
I think I will replace the notice board above my craft desk with a peg board and containers for things I reach to the side for. I have utilised shelving on the wall above my desk so I can just reach up or stand to pull down a container to retrieve something. It works well and I seldom have to move far from my desk. Your ideas are great, I'd love to turn the wardrobe in this room into work space but it holds my husband's clothes!
Excellent video... I have three full wall closets in my apartment and thought about using one to sweet up my craft stuff. I was going to set it up in closet in dining room/ kitchen but it was too crowded between table and closet.... I love how you did those wire racks. Thank you for everything you do
Oh, I would have TOTALLY done that! LOL I think it's a part of my brain that never 'matured'. I'm locked in the adolescents brain that still imagines things as they are not! LOL If my first thought is a 'kid space', then I know it's good for a grown-up craft/play space! LOL
Hi!! Please make sure when organizing a sewing room to make sure the sewing has to get up and move to get to the ironing station. I am a quilter who has learned this lesson the hard way. It took once for me to have to walk ten steps to stand up straight to learn this little trick and I’ve never had a problem since. Safety over convenience every time!
Yes, I get good ideas by looking how you reorganize other people's space. Thanks for sharing!

YAY!!!!!! I am ALWAYS so happy to save someone money!!!! Let me know how it goes!
OH MY! I'll bet those people got some amazing supplies!!!!! Good for you!
These videos are very helpful. Thank you for sharing them.
I really was interested in this video! Great ideas! I have reorganized my sewing/craft room a couple times, as my main interests have changed. Probably will use some of your ideas next! Love all your videos!
I'm always re-doing my room! Keeps me on top of what I have. :)
Yes, these videos give me ideas
Yes! Very helpful! Thanks for sharing.
Freakin' love that puzzle analogy! Thank you, only touch it once doesn't work in less than 500 square feet 🤪
Right?! I used to think I was a horrible organizer. Then I realized I was just honest with myself. LOL
I love your videos. You never fail to inspire me and teach me new and valuable tricks.
❤️ Shirley
I'm so glad! Thanks for watching on a regular basis 💜
I am organizationally challenged. But these videos give me ideas for cleaning up the office and my closet. I am really having trouble with my bathroom. I did throw away a lot of makeup and things I haven’t used. I guess I have to go through my tubes, bottles of body moisturizing lotions.
You can do it!
Love love this type of video. Please keep them coming.
You got it!
Brilliant ideas.
My favourite is the one where you made an office from a closet. Brill ideas.
When I first started watching US organising videos it took me a while to work out what closets are, because in the UK most houses are a lot smaller & have wardrobes.
I never knew that! Thanks for that insight! :) Thanks for watching, Julie!
Wonderful!! I'm so excited for you and the new space!!!! I'd love to see photos, if you have some. :)
Love these videos -before & afters...I love your enthusiasm....
😊 thank you
I think I will replace the notice board above my craft desk with a peg board and containers for things I reach to the side for. I have utilised shelving on the wall above my desk so I can just reach up or stand to pull down a container to retrieve something. It works well and I seldom have to move far from my desk. Your ideas are great, I'd love to turn the wardrobe in this room into work space but it holds my husband's clothes!
You’re videos are encouraging and helpul🥰
I'm so glad! Thanks for watching, Kathy!
Thank you another great video.
I love the garage makeover.
Thank you!!!! oxoxox
I LOVE all your content no matter what it is and get excited to watch your videos. Thanks for being such an awesome creator! 💙
You're the best, Anne! I so appreciate all of your support. xoxoox
Thank you I love to see before and after it does give me ideas
I'm so glad!
