Man Who Attacked Judge Wears Spit Hood in Court

- The out-of-control defendant who leaped over the bench to attack a judge appeared back in court. Deobra Redden appeared in court wearing a spit hood and his hands were in shackles with special coverings. Six court officers stood at the ready if he tried anything. Redden also faced the same judge he attacked when he made that flying tackle over the bench. Judge Mary Kay Holthus sentenced Redden to a minimum of 19 months in prison for attempted battery.
He literally proved the judges point on why he should go back to jail.
yup and another judge will sentence him for that assault
Yes he did
Why?
Ripped that poorlady WIG
He just wanted to give her a hug 😂
TO CLEAR THINGS UP - he will go to court for attacking the judge and likely get another sentence added on. They can't just add his recent attack to the ongoing process for many reasons including you can't have the person you attacked be the judge for the case - for obvious reasons
Yeah his other charge is going through the process.
Thank you for the clarification that is helpful
So many commentors don’t seem to get it.
Thanks….I was wondering about the same
Thanks, chief. Nobody would've put 2+2 together without you
Honestly, the judge deserves some credit for returning. I'm sure that attack was traumatic.
that's true
I was just gonna say that too. And it looked like he pulled her by the hair that poor woman
Attac of the blacc
Sarcasm?
Traumatic? Lol. What about what WW2 veterans went through? I guess that'd be classified 'very traumatic' haha
I like how she used "interrupted" - like he was a ringtone going off in the middle of her sentencing
LOL🤣 I was surprised and impressed at her diplomatic use of that word cause I would have found another word to use...🤣🤣
Remember this is just the sentence he was receiving before he attacked the judge. He'll receive a different hearing and a different sentence for that from a different judge for obvious conflict-of-interest reasons.
Totally get the conflict of interest, but it would've been nice for the judge to be able to sentence him for attacking her, he deserves the maximum. I give her credit for being able to face him again
Why would there be a conflict of interest when she already had a prior sentencing for him? She did not change what she was already given him which means she did him a favor because she didn’t add on what he had just did to her. He was already a three time felon, so getting 19 months in jail, she did him a favor. She didn’t add on what he did to her. He assaulted her he should’ve gotten more.
Hahaha now he has to go through the whole process again just for that. I don't think this went the way he was expecting. 😅
@@chrisofstars I don't really think he was expecting to get let off, he was just mad overall and took it out on her, not saying he was right to do so but that's the reason why he did what he did
@@amber_love5It's a conflict of interest of her sentencing him for the attack on her not the case when she was attacked.
She's very professional that she didn't use personal bias to increase his sentence when nobody would have blamed her for doing so. That's actually pretty inspiring integrity.
Thats a different charge now so it will be a different sentence so he will have a different hearing soon
Since that's a separate crime she couldn't allow that to influence her decision here.
He's definitely getting multiple charges added on I think he will serve at least 5 years
And brave considering she can't be looking forward to someone that inclined to battery being back on the streets as it were that's for sure. Also he clearly showed a lot of anger and intent to harm directed at her personally, which I didn't think was justified.
She'll put him back on the streets to scoop some woke dei points
The fact he had a spit hood, shackles on his hands, and 8 officers by him shows how dangerous he is to not be in prison.
I was thinking the same. And the officer to the right who helped lead him out was NOT messing around. That guy was sending serious "don't f around" vibes.
He's dangerous because he's physically strong? Sorry that you can't just "citizen arrest" him and expect that brother not to DEFEND himself. No law against resisting private citizens, sorry. You ain't the police.

He's going to get way more for attacking that judge than he got for that attempted battery he was originally sentenced for.
That’s all he had was attempted battery? Even if they go light on him for that court room attack he’s getting sent away
@@Prochime Yeah, ridiculous. I thought this would be over a life imprisonment / capital punishment crime, where they basically have nothing to lose anyway.

I'm glad a different judge will be in charge of the case of him attacking her not because I'm particularly concerned about him but because a judge being allowed to try you for a crime against them seems like a real big conflict of interest and a bad precedent. On another note I really respect her for sticking with the original sentence and not trying to use her power to take things into her own hands. I know she must have been really angry and scared.
I still can't believe how he was able to jump over that. Very high desk like honestly that's impressive physical strength
he got that crazy over 19 months!? Now being a repeat offender who is currently incarcerated he is facing years with his new assault charges that hasn't hit the system yet.
He was a repeat offender before sentencing. 3 felonies…multiple DVs.
The funny thing he did that before she finished saying what sentence she was going to give.
So he flipped out before he even knew what the punishment was.

He should have gotten life without parole. He’s unpredictable and dangerous.
It is impossible for her to give him that long, killers get less time, and grabbing a judge with no lasting injuries and then quickly being tackled isnt worse than murder
So glad liberals don’t have complete say in courts.
He should get the sentence of a serial killer for bruising a judge? Don't get me wrong, violence is not okay, but surely there is a difference between murder and an ill advised outburst in a courthouse?
@@AdamThygerson-lm1gt I'm always fascinated to hear that first degree murder apparently is not a life sentence. Please can you people provide any examples of this?
1) she had already sentenced him. She can't change the sentence post attack or else that would be a conflict of interest and that would result in a mistrial which doesn't help anyone but the defendant.
2) every judge has to follow sentencing guidelines. There's minimums and maximums. You can't get life without parole for what he was originally charged with. That's reserved for things like murder.

Although I'm sure he'll receive additional and separate charges, I saw another judge say she didn't change her original sentence, because she didn't want to allow the possibility of a mistrial and demands for her recusal, for being biased from the attack. That's what another judge said on a news program. 🤷
