    Thank you for the video. People are quick to jump on you about comparing two different price point tools, but I appreciate hearing the differences and knowing what I'm paying extra for and whether that is worth it to me. Please ignore the keyboard warriors, anyone with half a brain knows that these are gonna be in different leagues. Some of us are still interested in how far apart the leagues are.

      Thank you very much for your kind words. Yes it’s reasonable to compare those too because they’re both very popular. Admittedly, there a different price point and different feature packed with the comparison is reason but I really appreciate your comment. Consider subscribing. Thanks Joe.

      Exactly right. It’s easy to find a comparison of which cheap tool to buy. Or which expensive tool to get. But it’s nice to see someone comparing cheap and expensive using the same methodology.

    I'm a couple of years late to the party, but thank you sir for a fantastic comparison. I recently got a Ryobi to fix some minor things at home, and stumbled upon this video. Learned a thing or two about the Ryobi from your comparison! As others have already mentioned, ignore the negative comments, this comparison has a purpose and it was well made! Cheers

    Love the video, whatsoever Ryobi is in this case a powertool for diy projects. Dewalt is for professional and experimented woodworkers, For high volume framemers too. : )

    • @JosephHunstad
      @JosephHunstad  Год назад

      Hey buddy, you are so correct. The Ryobi is a DYII device not a professional tool but it’s still pretty darn robust. The Dewalt can work day and day out and I love that so much. Consider subscribing. Thanks, Joe.

    I appreciate this video. Your comparison is valuable in deciding if double the expense is worth it on this particular tool for my expected use. It also shows features to look for in any jigsaw. Don't worry about the couple of nay sayers, this video is extremely helpful.

    • @JosephHunstad
      @JosephHunstad  Год назад

      Thank you Jennifer for your nice comment. Both of these jigsaws work well. For the home use the Ryobi is just fine but the quality durability and power of the Dewalt is superior.

    I’m so sorry to hear you’re desperate doesn’t work on your Dewalt I would return it. The Ryobi does work for a long cut but overall the sturdiness and durability of the Dewalt I think is quite superior

  • @vadvoz
    @vadvoz 3 года назад

    Bought a couple of days ago Dewalt and the dust blower doesn't work, it's impossible to follow the line I draw. I will faint blowing the dust if I need to make a long cut .... what is your experience? Also, is Ryobi good for long straight cuts?

    The DeWalt is double the price of the Ryobi, of course it's going to be smoother and more refined. Good overall comparison though.

    Balance is a non-issue. The saw is being supported by the wood you're cutting. DeWalt fanboy.

    • @JosephHunstad
      @JosephHunstad  5 месяцев назад

      Hello Harry. Thank you for your comment. Yes you’re right. The Saw is definitely supported, but I just felt more comfortable with the balance, moving it around changing positions, etc.
      By the way, I also have Milwaukee, which I like a lot too. I do like DeWalt, but I’m not married to them. Consider subscribing. Thanks. Joe.

  • @pemtax557
    @pemtax557 2 года назад +1

    I'm sorry Dr. Joe, this was a miss from the word go. Comparing a saw that cost double that of the other just doesn't prove anything. The first comparison you made was that the DeWalt had a dust blower and the Ryobi didn't ... not true, the Ryobi does feature a dust blower. That's when the comparison ended for me.

    • @JosephHunstad
      @JosephHunstad  2 года назад +2

      Thank you for your comment. I’m sorry it’s taking me so long to respond. You are correct that the Ryobi does have a dust blower but it is incredibly weak. I think most of the dust movement occurs because of the oscillation of the blade. The blower is fair at best and again I apologize for this error on my part. Thank you take care Joe

  • @richardvacanti9428
    @richardvacanti9428 Год назад

    Why are you comparing the 2 one cost half of the other. Compare the DeWalt to a Milwaukee, or a Makita . Not a Ryobi that is for do it yourself people

    • @JosephHunstad
      @JosephHunstad  Год назад

      I can’t argue with you. Yes good comment they’re not comparing apples to apples at all for sure. I did describe the various differences, however, between the two and stated how the Ryobi is really for light use, and the Dewalt much more professional. Good, good point thank you consider subscribing. Thanks Joe.

      I can answer “why”, for me: I don’t know whether I need a fancy jigsaw or not. So seeing a feature by feature comparison is nice.

  • @A_Manc_in_Yorkshire

    Sorry but this is silly, the DeWalt is twice the price of the Ryobi of course its going to be better, like comparing a used Ford with a new Mercedes.

    • @JosephHunstad
      @JosephHunstad  2 года назад +1

      Thank you for your comment and you are totally right. It is an unfair comparison but it’s good to review two different price points of a similar tool. The Ryobi is actually very usable but obviously the Dewalt would be my preference if I had to choose from. However I need a cordless jigsaw in two locations one in which I rarely use one of the Ryobi suits the bill for that. Thanks again take care joe

      It is possible to find tools at half the price that are just as good as the expensive model. Marketing of bigger brands often takes up a lot of the cost. Overall, this comparison was a good idea and very valid. Many people do consider whether they should opt for the cheaper tool or spend more on a bigger brand.
      Why be unkind and judgemental? This guy took the time to make this video to help people decide before committing to one or the other.
      I found this evaluation completely valid and useful.
