This is a tool-assisted speedrun made by zvsp. He did a testrun of a "100%" run in the past and has finally finished it. He has given me permissions to upload it here.

I didn't realize how cryptic and insane some of the gold cards are to get, explains why as a kid this game took me forever to beat
yea i collected every single gold card and most of the costumes there was a few costumes i never could find or i think there was one i found but couldnt get

Listen man. I 100% completed this game as a pre-teen, without a guide if I recall. Yes it was frustrating, yes I felt like giving up sometimes. But fuck you, I did it. You can do it too.
Also fuck Rainbow Palace so hard.
I did, plenty of people did. It really isn't that hard. An internet faq or magazine could walk you through the game in about 10 hours or less. It's hardly a "no-life" game to finish unlike some real bastard games now, like any blizzard game.

I have never seen this game being mastered like this, very Masterful, i loved playing this all the time and im shocked at the strats, i wanna get good like that.
It's tool assisted (which means what he is doing would be nearly impossible to do so perfectly normally). Still impressive, but it's not like he just sat there and played through in one perfect run.
All this time my idol Sirius was a bad guy. Childhood ruined.

Holy smokes. Never knew those kinds of bomb ladders and bridges were possible. Watched the WIP's, were already impressed with those, but this TAS just really polished the game up nicely.

Bomberman at his most sociopathic. Killing literally everything in sight with the precision and speed of a madman, while attempting and SUCCEEDING AT feats of skill that I didn't even know existed for exploitation. It really makes me wanna play the old game again and try this crazy sh*t xDD
I think the 16 minutes of credits are a great illustration of the massive hubris of the developers that made this game so frustrating and difficult

The credits showed some sequences of Bomberman building bomb staircases to places you thought were inaccessible, such as the warp in Green Gardens 1, encouraging you to actually go hunt for secret areas and 100% gold cards and custom pieces, which is by far the must frustrating and difficult part of the game. So by your description, the credits are a self-fulfilling prophecy. Either that or they were just trying to add replay value.
I miss the days of video games when difficulty was celebrated and desired. A time before video games turned into interactive tech demos and movies that just held your hand all the way to a "YOU WIN" screen.

The thing in the very first stage? You practically NEED to do that in order to get the time gold card. Or at the very least, some really bonkers bomb jumps.

I remember as an 10/12 yr old playing the multiplayer for hours with my friend. This game was amazing.
Man some of those gold card placements (and those question mark things which I'll guess to be multiplayer costume parts based on the second bomberman) have downright devious hiding spots

It is not, it's TAS, but if you practice you can also do it this way.
The level designs were so much better in this game than second attack.
I played this game when it first came out i was about 10 11 It took me a full year to get 120 gold cards (or to even know about level 6) (i still dont have all the customs) its great to see how flashy and all the neat tricks you used on it

the pause at 39:40 where you got stuck on the lip of godzilla's mouth was the most fucked up thing I've ever seen. You should have kicked the bomb earlier and you ruined the run because of it

I have a soft spot for the American version actually. The voices sound so forced, it's funny. XD especially when Regulus yells, "You'll! PAY!" or Altair going, "You wanna fight ME?" It has a charm to it.

best bomberman man game of all time change my mind. i thought MAYBE the switch would have a similar game mode, but switch was classic bomberman which was a huge turn off for me.
I can't help but feel this smacks of super mario 64 format. still awesome multiplayer too.

we understood this game was so Hard for us we would never manage to finish the game.
a little week after we swiped it at the shop with Bango & Kazooie and were super satisfied xD

They demonstrate bomb jumping in the ending, which you just get from beating Black Fortress. It's up to you to experiment from there.

What does getting all of the gold cards do? I remember wanting to do that so bad when I was a kid and I got so close but couldn't get the time limit one on Stage 3 of the final world. I just never could perfect the bomb jumping so it took me forever to get to all 4 switches.
How long would it take to make the same video, but starting with 100% full power?

He suicides so he can get all his lives back so he can death warp in the later part of the level. Backtracking to get back to the entrance of the rooms in the same stage would take forever, but since this is a speed run, death abuse is used to minimize the time spent in the level overall.

Man, if they ported this game with just an upgrade to the graphics so it doesn't look like a potato on today's screens and the hardware (render) so it doesn't lag so harshly (N64 limitations, mate) I would die happy (after maybe never 100%ing this game.)

You made that with TAS. The bombs are directly exploding when you put them. Is that in real game in any way possible?
And: Are the jumps over gips in real game possible too?
everything done is possible in the game, alot of which is not possible by a human (T.A.S meaning Tool Assisted Speedrun, and hes playing the game with hundreds to thousand savestates and frame by frame)

Yeah, I actually got all of them in the first 5 worlds, the one I couldn't get was in Stage 2 of the bonus world, that was by-far the hardest.
I'm convinced that some of these puzzles, especially the ones in Blue Resort, are ONLY possible to solve by using some of this bizarre bounce jumping shit. I could never solve so much of this damn game...
In the sense that both games are on the N64, yes, it's the same format as SM64. :)
It feels so weird hearing Bomberman's Japanese voice after being so adjusted to his English voice.
I mean, he doesn't even sound like a "man" here. Sure, his original English voice is not very much like a "man" either, but at least it was a bit more buyable.
