Funny how this is pretty much exactly how Pikmin was supposed to be played. Many games that get the TAS treatment get broken or made trivial. With Pikmin, you're playing the game exactly as intended, just, really really well.
He does glitch himself up walls and use his body being carries to push heavier objects. It definitely cheeses the physics engine, but in a brilliant way.
this is unlike the usual speedrun, instead of the goal being to beat every level as fast as possible, the goal is to beat every level as efficiently as possible.

Funny, when I was struggling to find a way to push the ionium jet out of the water I was thinking to myself how I really should just ask Hazel even though she's probably never even played the game before.
I was amazed at pushing out all submerged parts in the Forest Navel. I congratulate you on your achievement that you pulled up the #1 Ionium jet from water the same as the Anti-Dioxin Filter.
Watching you do the whole Forest Naval in one go was really satisfying, but then you hit me with Distant Spring out of bounds and now I’m really IMPRESSED!
Beautiful run. I watched an older run last year and searched up Pikmin TAS earlier to show a friend, and found that this newer run existed! Some of these tricks absolutely blew my mind. When you left the blue onion with only 5 Pikmin, I was extremely curious to see how you'd get the fully submerged parts, and boy did you deliver. Bravo!
The craziest part of this to me is somehow all the monster interactions are planned for and knowing exactly what they will do when if thats how this was done

They only ones we haven't seen are orange and cyan Pikmin.

Although they could probably get around this by changing the shape or texture. After all, a black pikmin would look too close to a purple pikmin. My own theory for orange pikmin is that they would be the construction expert pikmin, Like carpenter ants, they can to building jobs at 10x the speed of other pikmin Would be useful if enemies were capable of destroying the environment and some hazards required shelters to avoid

6 days, we see here that it's possible. 12 days is more likely, if you know what you're doing, since precision will not be that easy and you'll probably lose some pikmin along the way. 20 days makes sense if you don't know anything since you'll get lost, and might as well add on the extra 2 days from 18 bc they'll probably spend some time losing and regaining Pikmin 25 days if they're going for 100% and have been getting optional parts along the way Which still leaves 5 days for all the mess-ups
Im confused as to how enemies are not killing your pikmin as you have them carry items. Like how did the armored beetle not completely flatten them, or the shearwigs eat them.

It is impressive, but it’s not like it takes that much skill, it’s just tedious. Its tas, they can just keep trying frame by frame until it’s perfect.
TAS skill is in planning, not execution.
Planning can take years, and one mistake can invalidate a whole run.

On the wii version, when you whistle the yellows who have bombs, they don't drop them anymore they just respond to you like normal.
The Wii and Switch version inverted the behaviours I believe. On GCN, whistle drops them, not touching.

I may be a year late but: they are taking advantage of the fact enemies aren't loaded in when your not facing them, this only works in Pikmin 1 and 2.
