When you've refined the Distant Spring so much that having to collect a bunch of corpses first still lets you finish barely before first sundown warning.
To think at one time in this game's history, people thought you couldn't complete an area in a day. Now we've beaten all 3 main areas in 1 day each, without using Onions. Crazy.
I've never seen that Water Dumple glitch before! If I had to guess how it works, because the Smoky Progg ignores all things to head straight for the onion, when the Water Dumple is done chasing you and wants to go back to its default area, somehow it thinks its default area is the same as the Progg's i.e. the Onion.
It’s just a glitch in their programming, they are normally suppose to go back to their area they hang out at but you can manipulate it so they are forced to continue into one direction.
I think my mind may have been blown about 10 separate times during this video. The absolute brilliant plan of raising a bunch of pikmin using the dumple & prog combo? Unreal. Just flawless. I mean, damn, you even used bombs to BOTH blow up the wall and kill that bulbear! I know multiple people have already asked this, but I also would love to understand the water dumple trick, which is the only mechanic I hadn’t seen before. My guess is it’s only possible in TAS, right?
That was... incredible. Launching all the Dumples toward base (Except one, to use to ledgeclip later), abusing the Smoky Progg to uproot all the Pikimin while they were still burgeoning, teaching a Yellow how to swim to move the Gluon Drive, and still taking the time to return the blue count to 0.
When I saw the title of this vldeo, I couldn't understand what it's meanig. But after watching, I finaly got it. No way, you used "Pull out megaphone". Finaly, l'm sorry for my unskilled English. I'm rooting for you.
@@Nic_2751 It an argo range issue. I don't understand it in technical terms but in simple terms its being on the edge of it's agro range for whatever reason it bugs out and just slide infinity while trying to return to it's home position.
@@stephenweigel it's a nice little reward for getting to distant spring ASAP, which they also did for pikmin 2 (three eggs fall from the sky near the base, potentially letting you get more flowers/flower up your new yellow pikmin)
I think he took the meaning of onionless very seriously, if all the Pikmin are buried they don't die at sunset and Olimar doesn't put them in the onion during the end of day cutscene. That way is as onionless as possible and 0 deaths
Normally if Pikmin are left out on the field after sunset, they die instantly. However, buried Pikmin will not be affected by sunset, meaning if you use Candypop Buds at the end of a day the sprouts will remain when you return.

you know, if you think about it, the smoky progg is actually being used for what it evolved to do!
Jesus, I had no idea it was even possible to move all of the Water Dumples like that! Amazing TAS!
I’ve never seen this behaviour in waterdumples before; never knew they’d follow the smokeyprogg to base

4:00 Water Dumple dance party! 🎉🎉
My third eye has opened after watching this.
8:29 WOW
this takes the cake, most amazing move ive seen in these TAS

Olimar really developed a serious twitch muscle in his throwing arm.
Wow a true pikmin master, I know it’s a TAS but you still had to think about the strategy and route, amazing!
What the hell kind of mind control did you enact here

Most excuisite
Amazing TAS, incredible routing! The mass kills at the base was so cool!
That mass water dumple collection was satisfying. Im still wondering how or why they were magnetized to the camp.
I’m sure it was just a pathing glitch that forced them into that state. Just line em up and shoot them towards the base like a slingshot 😉

Pluckaphone wasn't used, progg has the ability to uproot pikmin
Sorry,It meaned you used smoky frog as megaphone.
The dumples slowly moving to the main area is legit kinda creepy and ominous.
I don’t even know how it works

As someone who has played the first game, this has triggered my anxiety to the max, yet it reverts back down lol
すごい、God pikmin player
Incredible dandori!!!
Smokey Progg%
oh yeah we like this shit
okay that somehow exceeded all expectations
Kinda feels like the snitchbugs were erased from existance.
They appear in the distant spring on day five, so if you arrive there on day four you don’t have to deal with them
He just has a really good gaming chair

Is there a significance to throwing them all into the candypop flower at the end?

what does onionless mean? and could I get an explanation of the category?
It's when you cannot call Pikmin from the onion, so you have to do extinctions on purpose
I wonder what it's like to do a run where it's just the normal game but with the unused pluckaphone enabled?
probably a little quicker, since you won't need to delegate time to pulling sprouts one by one but instead just passing through the base holding B
What on earth is up with the water dumple manipulation?
im pretty sure it involves the smoky progg going to the onion
what
