For me these 2 songs are the ones i listen every week, so amazing. :)
So jazzy. They sounded phenomenal. Dirge is a French word, and is mostly used in and around New Orleans in America.
And more specifically, it was a certain type of jazz that was played at funerals. It had a lot of long drawn out notes played strongly that express grief and a slow somber tempo. Like when the trumpet and the sax belt out till distortion here. More about the style of the instrumental though, rather than the vocals.
A dirge (hard "g" no e) is a musical style used in New Orleans "homegoing" (or funeral) parade. The emphasis is definitely on the trumpet. By the way, I am not sure, but I don't think you can buy that queen bee dress off the rack at Target. This is a beautiful arrangement, crafted by a beautiful singer.

No mistakes were made in the filming of this reaction! The only mistake that might have happened is missing your outstanding reaction to a nearly perfect performance.
So if any 🤬 idiot wants to correct you just because you have an accent, not pronouncing the word wrong (which you did by the way with dirge. Dir as in Dirt, the ge as in jet. Dir-ge.) but with an accent.
Darlin it's your channel, pronounce it any way you like. Heck, you can tell me to get lost if you want to.
