Plot armor aside, can we just appreciate that despite being “powerless", Oliver still shows up to fight the Reverse-Flash.
I don't really think he has plot armour tbh cause the only reason he took on reverse flash is cause he took away his speed and in theory in should be impossible to hit him at super speed but barry distracted him reverse flash deffo underestimated oliver in this scene but it could be plot armour it would be weird for oliver to die in another show, this scene right here is the typical "batman can beat superman ".

@@LMan86 The dynamic between Reverse Flash and Oliver was one of the best parts of Season 1 for me. Sure it was a tiny segment of the show but Thawne was clearly extremely concerned that having the Arrow anywhere near his plans could blow everything to hell.
He knew from the history books that the Arrow was relentless when it came to pursuing a lead. And since earlier on Thawne's speed was less reliable, Oliver was actually an extremely dangerous potential enemy if it came to a straight fight. And Oliver was instantly suspicious of Thawne, validating every worry Thawne had.

If he ends up playing his cards wrong then Barry gets distracted from his goal in pursuit of trying to find Oliver’s killer, causing his plans to go all out of whack.
I love how when Oliver disables RF's speed, Oliver beats the crap out of him, but as soon as he gets his speed back, RF completely annihilates Oliver. Speedsters are OP.

Good point, at the point of which Reverse Flash changed Flash's timeline, he changed Oliver's timeline. Its possible that because of the fact the Flash got his powers earlier than he was supposed to because of R-Flash, it might start a chain of events that lead to the eventual death of Oliver.

That's because they hadn't worn him down, while speedsters can heal redicoulously fast, they still need a quite a few hours to heal from a fall that would have killed a normal person hence why the second time around, the nanites took down reverse flash almost immediately.

A lot of villains are like that and people find them the more entertaining ones like Merlyn, Ra's Al Ghul, Thawne but honestly I prefer the ones that are just bad and know they are bad like Slade and Zoom, Damian Darhk is in the middle in my opinion because he has some big plan for the future of a better world or whatever but certain things make it look like he knows he is the bad guy
+Jarrod Watson he needs more development. i think what would helped sell him as a badass is revealing his past relationship with the league and ra's, why ra's al ghul was so desperate to kill him and why constantine was afraid of him, as well as giving more hints about his plans other than the vague ominous stuff he does at the end of every other episode

The nanites only dampened thawne's speed to a high extent. But it didn't completely neutralize his reflexes and pretty fast movements.
He was getting owned in the hand to hand, there was nothing impressive about Reverse Flash in that situation
For all of Well's speed, when that's taken away, he's no match for Ollie with League training.

The dynamic between Reverse Flash and Oliver was one of the best parts of Season 1 for me. Sure it was a tiny segment of the show but Thawne was clearly extremely concerned that having the Arrow anywhere near his plans could blow everything to hell.
He knew from the history books that the Arrow was relentless when it came to pursuing a lead. And since earlier on Thawne's speed was less reliable, Oliver was actually an extremely dangerous potential enemy if it came to a straight fight. And Oliver was instantly suspicious of Thawne, validating every worry Thawne had.

Can’t lie, fist time I saw this episode I squealed like a school girl when arrow showed up and realized there was still five minutes left in the show so I wouldn’t have to wait until next week.

Reverse flash surprisingly never told lies for how evil he is. Even with the case of Nora, he has been helping her fight Godspeed with true facts on how to win, and as for going back in time to meet her dad, RF did tell Nora to inform Barry the truth that RF is helping her but she chose to keep the secret. RF told the truth about how to stop Cicada it’s just that he had his own agenda to go free. He never told a direct lie, just manipulate with truths
RF wasn’t wrong about the history books too, another truth he told. He really never lies

seeing how reverse flash trained barry and was his mentor he also created the very thing that could beat him
Reverse Flash had very good hand to hand combat skill for him to be able to last so long against Arrow
I know I was pretty shocked to see him at least try to take Oliver on without his speed. He knows Oliver is a superior combatant than he is and he still ran at him to try and fight. Barry would have just probably run away until the nanites wore off, or at least got his ass kicked immediately, but Thawne actually held on long enough to rid the nanites from his system. When I first watched this I usually just took the assumption that speedsters were not great combatants outside of their speed, but Thawne at least attempting to hold his own against a man trained by the league of assassins as a normal human made him pretty terrifying to me.

All the people commenting about R.F saying that the history books state that Oliver dies at 86 and that he died in crisis, you have to remember he dies at 86 in the original timeline, this is another timeline created when R.F killed Barry's mother, and then Barry time travelled after the tsunami.
I am sure that is one of the bog things haunting him, he basically stripped Oliver of a long possibly happy life.

The reason i love this fight scene is because Reverse Flash fought Green Arrow and The Flash in the future (2024). And because of that he was excited to fight them again.
