Steveo: A Question: Why could you not fly southeast over the Gulf to get to Florida?? Instead West to the storms over Louisiana? Wouldn't that save fuel and time, as well as avoiding the weather over Louisiana?
The storms extended over the Gulf of Mexico but there is no NEXRAD coverage that far out.
I truly miss the old days where you were flying charter in 851. It was kinda like… just a guy and his plane island hoping in the Bahamas. Very cool… Now, a jet? I know… the bills got to be paid.
