@dwards3410 He was at the club when they signed but as we know from our most trusted journos, Steve Nickson manages most of the recruitment process including negotiations and agreements. Labelling any individual players as "Ashworth signings" is just misleading.
Ashworth nowadays by all accounts is more of a COO type figure than a head of recruitment. To say he did bugger all is just sour grapes though, we became harder to read and get info out of, and started to progress very quickly in other non-playing areas of the pitch afterh is arrival. People tend to just not know what a sporting director actually does, even this video is a bit reductive.
