That is exactly what I have done: Ignore the new stuff... and, to me, everything from "Jihad" forward is "new stuff".

The problem is that these SJWs (Yeah, going back in time for that term, but it still fits) have already done this to every other major franchise and hobby. I was a HUGE Star Wars fan before I ever even knew what Battletech was. They ruined Star Wars and about a dozen other various hobbies I've had. This is it. As a new fan of Battletech coming from Warhammer 40k and Star Wars it´s sad to see modern politics in universe and comunity
Years ago Arpanet the military network became a civilian open network. What you see is politicians reclaiming it back as a military network.
Humanity never needed Internet. In 1984 we did not need it either.
So the solution is that if they want their network back, let us give it to them.
We can always do things the old fashion way we had when we were kids.
I can guarantee you that without Internet you will not have drama. Try it for a week and you will see.

Don't get me wrong, it is wonderful that there is a great library of lore about a fictional universe called Warhammer 40k, or Battletech, and many years of various things added and removed from various rule systems and so on, good stuff. (That I can pick and choose from as I damn well please)
But come on, they're a toy model company with a fictional universe franchise, lets not any of us pretend that this qualifies them for anything but that. Certainly not to moralize at me nor require anything of me besides a regular purchase. After that I'm not terribly interested I must say.

I stopped buying new Battletech Books and products. Thankfully there are plenty of older products available online and they aren’t too expensive. Ditto for older novels. But I won’t keep supporting Catalyst.
I finally dropped Btech like a hot potato last year. I was reading Decembers Shrapnel, when the author broke out bitchy "current year" racist black woman protagonist. The intro of the main character was saying how hard it was to be a black woman in the Lyran Alliance, and having to interact with the "lily white" jade Falcons. I dropped the book then and there. Battletech has it's own cultural break downs, and national identities in it's world. I do not need entitled racist whining from activists today putting their words in the mouths of characters in the battletech universe.

There's literally a 9-year-long thread that was originally about the speculative fate of Clan Wolverine, but got mutated by disingenuous commenting to be about Blaine Lee Pardoe allegedly being a bad writer, and somehow _Betrayal of Ideals_ is a Mary Sue story.
That means someone thinks that Pardoe 'identifies' with either Sarah McEvedy (which defies the notion of a Mary Sue story),

So the implication is that Pardoe, who has otherwise kept politics and personal views out of his work on Battletech for over two decades, has 'evil villan hero domination' fantasies.

If you're talking over all, I mean it's not on par with Battletech (though Battletech is less a story and more probably what IRL politics are gonna be 600+ years from now) but it's not horrible. It's ok. Though I do think it's biggest issue is it tried to "balance" things to much buy making both sides almost identical sans one likes angular mecha and the other likes roundy mecha.
@@TheRyujinLP I’ve only seen the original computer game from the early 2000s. Played it like crazy, really enjoyed the gameplay, but I remember the story being somewhat dumb, even by my adolescent standards.
@@PitPwny Ah, too poor for a PC when I was kid so I never played that or MechWarrior back in the day.
Not a Battletech guy but the solution is the same in most hobbies. GFS
The legend razorfist Just in time for my lunch break and talking about a subject I definitely wanted to know more about keep up the great content sir respect.
A play D&D almost weekly, with more or less the same group since 1988, yet we don't use a single official product made by them since the brand was owned by TSR.
Tabletop gaming companies going woke, abandoning their core, lifelong customers, is nothing but cooperate harakiri. Eventually they'll go bankrupt and be forced to sell the IP they've butchered, and then someone who loves the brand can just scoop it up for a bargain, excise all the garbage, and continue on.
They wont go bankrupt, because they are propped up by Blackrock.
Something else that works to our advantage is the that practically everything past 3067 sucks. All the good stuff FASA already made.
You like a new sculpt? Buy it secondhand. Sail the high seas for rule books, or buy the older ones. Make that 3D printer spin to life, buy 3d printed stuff from people in the community, or from Iron Wind Metals. Form your own communities and groups online and off and gatekeep them fervently. I guarantee you nothing is going to piss off these narcissists more than knowing they can’t make you leave and there are spaces they have no access to. Write your own stories, I myself am cooking one up about the Minnesota tribe for my local group.
Lastly, CGL doesn’t have the staying power of GW or any other tabletop company out there. As it is they already survive kickstarter to kickstarter. We’ll be here long after they’re gone and the tourists get bored and move to other franchises to try and ruin.
3D print all your minis
Remember: Battletech predates Catalyst.
We were here before them. We will be here after them.
You do not need them, not for books, not for models.
Play Battletech. Don't pay Catalyst
Reactors of Timberwolf/Madcat with trans livery have a 41% chance of going critical each turn.
It's over 60% now.
If Catalyst wants to go the way of Clan Soy Viper, be my guest. it won't end any better for them.
So abunch of actual fascist got in charge and. Started purging ranks

4:32 let’s not use their “automatic weapons” lines man. My ar has the little switch for it, but it can’t go to it because it isn’t fully automatic.
That’s some Don Lemon shit there man, though I do agree with you about the Troon shooters problem. Must be injecting that toxic masculinity lol.
Your _AR_ cycles automatically and is an automatic carbine in this sense. Were it capable of automatic fire, then it would be a machine carbine
For a while my favorite local game store was slowly building a large display at the end of an isle for Battletech. Right up towards the front counter. First there was what, 4 boxes? Taking up a little corner of the board? Then slowly rose to covering the whole board. Now it’s in a back corner with a couple boxes available. The owner does not believe in promoting a game where the owners do these things, he promotes his games to families and kids he will not have his store promote a game with people focused on sexuality instead of plastic. It’s sad, truly. Such high hopes for this game, the models and lore are truly great yet we gottta end this immediately.
Ah, it's the old "our game is for everyone, so these people must leave" again. Very inclusive.
I just saw Disney+ is getting Robotech. I hope that doesn't mean they are getting the I.P.
Nope. That's just for Disney+ inside Japan. And that's for all of solely Macross, not Mospeada.
All of the original Robotech is still offered on Microsoft's store and Fandango at Home as a transaction.
I'm almost certain it's only the japanese Macross franchise.
Yeah it's Macross not Robotech, and it's just streaming rights.
They're getting just about everything BUT Robotech. They've got rights for streaming Macross II, Flashback 2012, Plus, 7, Zero, Frontier and Delta (other licensers, such as Anime Ltd and AnimEigo, had recently acquired the home video rights). The part of Macross cut up for Robotech, the original SDF Macross, as well as the movie, Do You Remember Love? are the only titles they don't have, likely due to Harmony Gold holding tight to that zombie of a franchise. Genesis Climber Mospeada and Superdimensional Cavalry Southern Cross, the other two titles caught up in the mess, as well as Megazone 23 Part 1, which was used for Robotech: The Movie, are also not on Disney.
I doubt Disney is interested in the Robotech IP, it has limited boomer appeal while most anime fans shun it for the bastardization of the original shows it was; the many failed projects at continuing the franchise speak volumes to its commercial appeal. Plus, working with Harmony Gold must be a nightmare. It took even the Japanese rights holders 20 years to reach an agreement in 2021 over being able to license the unrelated Macross shows to other companies.
Mech designs belong to the Japanese company Studio Nue. Harmony Gold bought rights from Tatsunoko productions who ONLY had distribution rights for the audiovisual product Macross owned by Big West, another Japanese company
So if Harmony Gold sold rights they just sold rights of distribution of Big West product but they do not own the rights of mechs by Studio Nue.
Steve Shives, I haven't heard that name in an eternity.
Neither has the man himself.
He does videos on YT

Always gatekeep your hobbies!
Razor, I think this was actually brought about by alpha strike. The game systems where this woke shit is most prevalent are the more barebones game systems. Look at warhammer 40ks woke shit and then look at The Old World. Both are games workshop games, but the more complicated game has fewer normies that get manipulated by the woke twitterati. They also have fewer activists because the less popular a game is, the less these cultural marxists care about a thing.
Ordinary battletech was complex enough that the normies didn’t want to play.
I don't know much about this hobby but I've resorted to emulating older games from IPs that were ruined by these freaks.
Battletech as a game has been thrown into the ether so many times and survived they can scream they can try to destroy it they will fail as all have in the past because the Battletech community doesn't need CGL it doesn't need Topps they need us we hold the power
Do not confuse SUPPLY side KPI with DEMAND side KPI. Sales, audiences and subscriptions are supply side KPI.
Fan work and passion is not defined by these KPI.
We have long past the point of having an attitude of live and let live with these invaders. To quote Capt. Picard: “I will not sacrifice the Enterprise. We’ve made too many compromises already; too many retreats. They invade our space and we fall back. They assimilate entire worlds and we fall back. Not again. The line must be drawn here! This far, no further! And (we) will make them pay for what they've done.”
You do realize that Picard walked back on that statement in the very next scene after a lecture from some chick? 😁😋
@@milankostic2571 Extremely accurate to the real world, then. So many modern-day problems were caused by women whining and lecturing, and men deciding to give them the benefit of the doubt and try their solution.
The scene in "Independence Day" when POTUS mind-links with the alien.
Outro is magnificent!
@@milankostic2571 And yet his actions stopped the borg and even saved the Enterprise. So you do realize that Picard stuck to the conviction of his words despite being lectured by the diverse independent woman?
What a surprise. It gets handed to Capellans and goes to shit.

I have enough lances for all my friends, a gaming table and enough terrain for the next years. I don't need catalyst or a toxic community
Us the Razorforce must unite and fight for Battletech! I call for Warhammer and Mechwarrior fans as well.
I'm in.
Honestly, most warhammer fans coming over to Battletech has been a disaster for BT. They need to go back to the game they still love and take it back because I'm sick of hearing about how they're only now playing BT because it's their backup female-dog.
@@rishnix with all due respect, we ain't all like that.
We both like big Stampy robots.
@@rishnix lol
@@rishnix I'm a 40k fanatic and flatly refuse to be pushed out. I'm glad BT players are fighting back but my war is over here.
I played the game when it was all but dead after fasa died... i played the game when mechwarripr players were asking me in surprised tones "there is a dice game for that?", i played the game through the short community resurgance after battletech relesed... what makes these assholes think i need their manifestos to engage in the game now?
They fire one of the last remaining OG creators of the whole IP over political BS, while claiming to be non-political. They hire a community manager that's only even known about Battletech for about 3 years, and has only played it twice. And their chief artist thinks the old mech designs are dumb and ugly, so allows stupid changes to them that actually make them generic, dumb and ugly. But somehow Catalyst can't figure out why so many people are pissed at them...
The corprat mind is truly a baffling thing.
There is tons of old content that is still awesome to revisit or for new players to play and experience. We have 3D Printers for making our own Minis in amazing poses and a better price point.
There are areas of space and planets that haven't had a story told, so make something new, yourself, for you and your friends to enjoy. The beauty of Tabletop Games is that at the end of the day, the books aren't the rules. They're suggestions. Many, bad ones.
So true.
At the end of the day we can make our own stuff.
Hell I still remember some really old fanfic that manged to introduce aliens and keep it in line with BT.
Another was a simple story that used the Terminator premise of a Skynet style AI being found and automated mechs, fighters and such.
Another was a down to earth more drama based one following one woman's journey from simple farmers daughter to mechwarrior up to leading her own unit (and thank god it was well written and not modern mary sue trash, Julia went through some real shit, had to overcome it and came out stronger for it.)
What's the name of the last one?
You ever read "Centurion?" That one's a classic, even if it was sadly never finished.
This is why I stick to Original D&D and AD&D. "Bill, don't support WotC, leave D&D behind!" No. I won't. I'll quit supporting WotC but I'll be damned if I'll surrender the field for Original D&D and Advanced D&D.
Catalyst hasn’t gotten a dime from me since they canceled Blaine Lee Pardoe.
It's a good day when the homie Razör drops a new video.
