I couldn’t believe what I was hearing when this record came out. The way on Goodbye Jimmy Reed it’s like he’s shaking hands with the guy from Highway 61 one last time… and MMF one of his greatest songs dropping as it did right in the early midst of Covid-19… I wasn’t expecting to get such a vital Dylan moment in my time, so long after the 60s and 70s, in such a different world..Saw him a few years later, 2023 in.a semi full theatre in Seville. Thanks for letting me know how much you’re enjoying the video! I’ve loved Bob Dylan since the moment I heard the first couple of bars of “If Not For You” from the album “New Morning” in 1971 when I was 14. It’s one of the great pleasures of my life to be able to share these records of Dylan’s performances with other fans who appreciate him like I do. 😊

Yes. I also saw the 3 shows at the Beacon Theatre the weekend before. All were excellent - but Dylan seemed a bit more subdued than in Providence, and also seemed to be less comfortable standing, which may have been a factor as well. He definitely seemed to be having more fun at this Providence show right after Thanksgiving.
man, great Dylan "who cares" energy and delivery. When it shows a front view of him at piano -- the lighting or whatever makes him look like a young man -- almost. only he shuffled to piano -- hey, I'm a shuffler, now. So what. We lived. jmho
Thank you, what great moments..and I read your thoughts behind- interesting..think it too- at most convincing he is on stage..full of energy and always new ideas which surprises us about 60 years
You got a great video. Between how far back he was, how dark it was, and that awful haze, you can see him perfectly. Seriously, I couldn’t see his face at all and I was front row center. Center aisle seat. The man in back of me fell asleep. So people know, not only was he set back, but then the pit wasn’t sold and that was covered so he was doubly set back.

I love the older version of Bob. 💖 Obviously still loves his embroidered/sequined clothing, and he's still got his skinny legs but doesn't look emaciated anymore. I'm probably really weird, but when I watch him in the early 2000's during his 'cowboy phase' or in his mid 20's, all I want to do is feed him some kind of nourishing food so that he puts a little meat on! 😂
Great stuff, he ran back towards to crowd (ok only a few steps) and gave a priceless smile at the end of the Chicago show near the start of the tour...it wasn't captured as far as I know. Would that it twere!
To me it felt like the band surprised itself w/ its boisterous bouncy jam and Bob cracked up over it -- whatever the source, fantastic footage, thank you Artur

@@milkcow Hi - would have replied sooner but it's been busy. I've seen Dylan at this Providence theater a bunch of times, under different names - Ocean State Theater originally I think, then Performing Arts Center, then The Strand. First time was during 1980 gospel tour. Then a few times in the 1990s. Probably later, too. Most memorably at the 1980 gospel show, Dylan stopped at some point during his set and said, "I can tell you one thing for sure. There aren't going to be any altar calls tonight. There's a big pit in front of the stage." So I guess he noticed the same pit back then and didn't much like it either. Still, I thought it was a funny remark for him to make - because even without the pit, I really don't think Bob was going to be inviting people to make "altar calls." I didn't hear about him doing anything like that at earlier shows, starting with the 1979 Warfield Theater shows in San Francisco and on through the previous shows in 1980. He certainly didn't invite anyone to come up at the show the night or 2 before in Worcester. That show in 1980 I think was the only time I sat in the orchestra. Every other time I've been in the mezzanine - partly for obvious reasons after 1989. But I've learned over the years that if you're short, (I'm 5'2") and if people are possibly going to stand for long periods of the show, it's a much better view. Some theaters' upper sections are further back. But a lot of them including Providence, the mezzanine hangs pretty far forward over the orchestra, and it's not that high up, so you can get a better view than from more than half the orchestra seats for sure. The other memorable thing I witnessed at this theater was in April 1996. It was weirdly a general admission show, and I had my camcorder so I tear-assed it up to the mezzanine as soon as I got in. There were a couple rows mostly full already, but still good seats. But the best seats - the front 2-3 rows that were a step down past a little aisleway, I think, and right up against the mezzanine rail -- which is where I was headed (I sat in the front row there in 1994) - they were roped off so no one could sit in them. I wondered why, if they were reserved, who for. Just before the show started, a few minutes before the theater went dark, a whole procession of beefy young guys in suits and ties, and their girlfriends dressed to the nines in fancy cocktail dresses, lots of jewelry, hair done, lots of make-up, etc. - looking like they were halfway going to a fancy prom, a wedding, or a nightclub - all marched in a line to those seats and filled them up. I swear some of the guys were wearing pinky rings. It was pretty clear to me after a minute who they were -- high school and/or college age, and maybe a bit older also, sons and daughters of connected mafia people in Providence. It has been a BIG mafia city for a long time. The way the guys and girls was pretty unmistakable. The special treatment. There were even some tiny cocktail like tables placed between the seats in the front, and they had waitresses coming during the show delivery drinks to them and them only. For most of the show, they watched fairly politely, not too excited, talked a little, whatever. Then near the end of the show, next to last song before the encore, Dylan launched into "Joey." And I could see a few of the guys start pointing and elbowing each other a bit, smiling and winking a bit. Dylan didn't do the song at any other show during that spring tour. It showed up a exactly 2 fall dates that year, but was definitely not a regular selection on that year's setlists. I've always wondered if Dylan chose the song on his own, knowing these mafia princes and princesses were going to be there by some kind of special arrangement, or if someone had asked him to do it! I figure the theater owner and/or local promoter had to be "connected' in some way. Anyway, it was memorable.
@@ArturArtist yeah the state was pretty crooked back then. Could have been political connections too. Who knows. It’s all the same crap. We’ve probably been at a lot of the same shows over the years. I joined the Dylan thing in 2004 at the end of the year. My first show was URI. I’m usually in the front row. I love seeing his face. That’s my thing. That’s why this tour was such a dud for me. 2019 was fun. Lowell mass was great. Did you go?
@@ArturArtist I saw that and thought maybe it was a button. So I didn’t realize you could zoom in now so far on RUclips. 😂 🤦♀️ this makes for a whole new viewing experience. Yes. There is a necklace and a pendant there. Zoom in. What is that? It almost resembles a cross. 😂
Bob kinda has his shirt open A LOT... Has anyone else noticed? I'm thinking he's one of those people who don't like anything tight around their neck. It's an aspie thing... Also it looks sexy and he probably knows it. 😂
I think Bob forgot the lyrics and that’s why he ran back to the piano, probably has lyric sheets back there for the new songs. If I had to guess, that’s what he was laughing about at the end
I don’t think Dylan was having trouble remembering lyrics. He stood less long than this while performing hthis song at the 3 immediately preceding shows, which I also saw. Whether due to back problems as some have suggested, or a remnant of the vertigo Dylan recently mentioned that started in 2019 and continued through the height of the Covid pandemic in 2020, he clearly was having trouble standing or walking for any length of time during most of the shows he performer in 2021; certainly at the 4 I saw in Nov 2021 - those were the 3 at the Beacon Theatre in NY, 11/19-21, preceding this one in Providence a few days later on 11/26. Bob actually stood longer and more frequently during this Providence concert than he did at any of the 3 in NY. But, except for one short number - Melancholy Mood - he never stood up for a whole song. Either he stayed seated at the piano the whole time, or he’d get up to sing a couple of the first lines - not even a whole verse like he does here. Then he’d quickly retreat to the piano where mostly stayed seated for the rest of the number. He never seemed to be having any trouble remembering lyrics to any song he performed at this show or the others I saw. Any problems he’s having seem strictly physical, not any issue with his memory.
Hi Ameer - There are quite a few songs already up on my channel from the November 21, 2021 show at the Beacon Theatre in NY, plus one other from Providence that I uploaded before this one - "I'll Be Your Baby, Tonight." Clicking on the icon at the top right of the video page should take you to the channel home page, where you can find all the videos I've posted so far -- including from older tours. And there will be many more coming. I have about 100 hours of footage I'm going through, editing to upload. @@ArturArtist yes..thats real good... I was thinking how rare its been for anyone to get any decent, complete songs on vid since "21 tour started. Seems they cracked down harder than they used to.
They did. I went to 4 shows last November - the 3 at the Beacon in NYC and the 1 in Providence, RI. Security was tougher getting in than it once was. I had to experiment with new ways just to get stuff in. In 2022 they started taking everyone's cellphones and putting them in pouches to be retrieved after the show, to stop people taking pix with their phones. I'm not sure if that might have made my thing actually easier rather than harder, but didn't get a chance to get to any 2022 shows to see. I'm hoping I'll get to some more in 2023. 2021 was actually the first time I shot a concert in 17 years. I used to get to lots of shows, but during those years of "retirement" only managed to see 6 shows total, and never more than one at a time. So I wasn't going to mess up my few rare opportunities to see Dylan during that period. But with the opportunity to see a few shows in a row again, I couldn't resist giving it another try.

Did you go?
❤️ Super..
Thank you Artur! 💖💖💖💖💖💖💖
You’re very welcome. It’s a great pleasure for me to be able to share these videos with other fans who love Bob Dylan like I do. 😁
@@ArturArtist Thank you, Artur.🙏🙏🌻🌻😘😘

Wow, never seen Dylan with lyrics sheets on stage before.
❤❤❤
Oh his shirt was open. No bolo or tie thing 😂 who knew 😂
It looks like he’s wearing some kind of chain with a small pendant visible where his shirt is open, tho.
@@ArturArtist let me look. 😂
Is there any other footage this complete and steady since Rough Rowdy started?
Hi Ameer - There are quite a few songs already up on my channel from the November 21, 2021 show at the Beacon Theatre in NY, plus one other from Providence that I uploaded before this one - "I'll Be Your Baby, Tonight." Clicking on the icon at the top right of the video page should take you to the channel home page, where you can find all the videos I've posted so far -- including from older tours. And there will be many more coming. I have about 100 hours of footage I'm going through, editing to upload. If you don't see the icon (with Orpheum Theater marquis showing "Bob Dylan") you can also use this link to get there:

@@ArturArtist I got to Shreveport La. in March I think it was...
Great venue.
I can be heard on the recording with a quick proclamation during a quiet in between song moment
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Umm, Weren't all📲 Bannished & locked 🔐 away in Bullet proof, sound proof canteens, how did this video get past Dylan's, prying eyes, it was almost lying on his upright 🎹
It’s not from a cellphone. 😉
The use of the "Yondr" pouches began in 2022.
Great video! I had good seats at the three 2021 NYC concerts plus Wash. DC, and then in 2022: the tour opener in Phoenix, the three Los Angeles concerts, plus the tour closer in Dublin. This video is just as impressive and with a better view.
OH! PLESE KILL ME BOB!!
Is this a positive comment? A little hard to tell 😮
