Live2D Tutorial - Physics 101

- Опубликовано: 4 ноя 2024
- Here's a basic introduction to setting up physics groups in Live2D! Aimed at the beginners out there who just have no idea what everything does in that menu. This specifically goes over what buttons/numbers do on the settings menu - if you'd like to see a parameters for physics setup video, I have that planned! I also go over how to use the scene blending settings near the end of the video, a lesser used feature for beginners in Live2D!

We're a couple of furry / kemono vtubers that make videos for fun!
I became very confused because the tutorial I have been following never explained it! They jumped into the physics settings without telling me anything, and I became very frustrated. Thank you for making this easy to follow!! I feel like all the other tutorials keep on jumping ahead with the “just repeat what I just did” instructions (which I cannot usually do, haha).
Thank you!! :D
Omg, I've been looking everywhere how to get the Y angle to work and i only found this video that showed how it works, thank you amazing person!
Glad it was helpful!! I actually just figured out that Y angle thing recently too haha, it's tricky to find this stuff sometimes!
This was such an incredible and straight-forward confidently delivered tutorial. Thank you for keeping it clean and I am so excited to keep rigging with the knowledge you shared! 🖤
omg thank god i ran across this cause you explained everything so well AND you did the simplest steps you can do at first for beginners, and then dove deeper for more details, THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!
i think this is the best tutorial on physics on youtube that i've watched so far, thank you so much! it's very clear!
I'm so glad it was helpful for you too!
Your tutorials always have the answers that are missing in other videos. Love your channel
Thank you very much! I couldn't understand how to import the scene blending!
I must admit the scene blending isn't the most well explained aspect of the program, super glad you could find this helpful!
Yaaaay thank you!! I've been looking forward to you releasing the physics tutorial!!
hope it's helpful for ya!
Thank you. It really helped me a lot. This is World Best Tutorial.
I'm so glad it was helpful for you!! ^^
Thank you so much!
OMG FINALLY I FOUND A TUTORIAL!! TYSM
thank you very much ~! Very clear !
Ty for the tutorial, gonna try this later :D
hope it's helpful for ya! hope it goes well later ^u^
Wonderful tutorial! Thank you!
Thank you so much! You are a great teacher!😭
great job cutie!!!! thank you for taking the time to explain all of this!
thank you for the tutorials, you're really a savior!!
sorry for bothering, but may i ask you a question, in case you can advice something, i were looking everywhere up but didn't find anything that could've helped.
i made glitter on the eyes and applied physics to it, so it would move/wobble when the model blinks.
and then i wanted to have a parameter that turn the glitter off (lowering the opacity) (for some expressions).
but when the physics is applied, the glitter still 'ghostly' appears while blinking even when the parameter i made ('no glitter) is on, is there any way to fix it? i dont wont to turn glitter physics off :(
Okay im a dumb dumb,
Just in case someone will stumble across this issue too,
i needed to change the opacity of the deformer, not the object, to make it work damn
Sorry for bothering xDD
No worries!! I'm just so glad you managed to get it all working!
Hello! Is there a way to set up multiple different physics settings for different parts? Like if I wanted the tail to move differently then the hair could I set up to individual physics for the two separate parts? I am completely lost!
Hello! Yes absolutely! You setup different 'physics groups' by clicking add (what I showed near the start of the video). You can actually see the different physics groups I have at 11:17 in the group editing window ^u^
@@CutieDragon Oh my gosh I can't believe I missed this! Thank you so much! This helps out tremendously.
@@SpiderRen No worries! It's easy to miss things honestly aha! Wishing you the best with your live2d!!
I have a problem with the physics. When I export my character in .cmo3 and then I download it on Vtube Studio the physics aren't working. How to fix it please ?
Are the physics showing up properly in the live2d physics window? Also make sure you have 'export physics' toggled on when exporting your model!
hello! thankyou for your videoo it's very helpful 💗
I'm sorry but may I ask you for a question, I've set jiggle physics to my eye and I think I've already set the input and output settings correctly too....the pendulum is moving but it doesn't apear on the screen, do you know how to fix this? :(
what's your output value at? often times it's too low so it doesn't look like it's moving!
@@CutieDragon owhh I put it on 1.0 hahahh, thankyouuu sm!!! 😭
Hello! I animate gacha on live2d here, and I’m not a vtuber.
But I’m currently having an issue baking the physics to the animation in the animation tile.
When I simply try the bake the physics, all the keyframes disappear? I’m not sure if this is a regular issue.
With my last animation the physics imported perfectly, but now it deletes the keyframes.
Is there anyway to solve this issue? If you’re not sure that’s fine!
Do I need to add physics on my model’s body? I tried adding it and the model looks stiff when I tested it out on the right canvas. Please help. Thank you.
Adding physics to the body is an optional step, but it is something I do personally - it keeps the body a bit more fluid motion/bounce! You may want to tweak your pendulum settings if it's looking stiff though, or it may possibly be the parameter setup.
Hello, thanks so much for your tutorial, its really helpful. i just wanna ask st when I rig my head, I use angelXY to be left, right, top and bottom, Z is for both sides, the body axis is the same, but when I import it into livePRP or live2D studio app, the model only move eyes, mouth, and hair with accessories on my head. She can't rotate up down, lean left right. in the physics section I rotate the mouse to move all the parts of the model, the model's head can't even rotate. Expecting your respond. Thanks so much
It sounds like there may be an issue with your head parameters! The physics window shows how your parameters will be outputting for x/y - you'll want to double check your head deformers for x and y in Live2D to check that they are moving properly
@@CutieDragon Thank you so much. I figured it out ❤️
I followed your example to set up an idle animation and added it to the scene blending but my model doesn't seem to animate. Do you know what the issue is? :(
did u click and drag?
@@Seiko746 Do you mean the model inside the scene blending? I did but still nothing is happening. Sorry I'm very new to this :(
@@toobs2895 double check the idle animation was added to an active playlist in the scene blending menu, and make sure that you've hit the play button at the top of the physics menu!
For some reason when i open physics/blending settings it always starts with the eye in the corner not in the middle and it wont allow me to change it?
oo that's a new one, hmm when you're in the physics window are your eyeball X/Y parameters in default (center) position or is the dot on one side of the parameters?
@@CutieDragon Its on the left side of the parameter
it isn't even doing anything to my model? When I fully rigged it and did all I could, please help..
Have you exported your physics for the model once you've set them up? There's a checkbox on export runtime along the lines of 'export physics settings' which may default to unchecked
and what app(?) is this..
Live2D Cubism!
where can i get idle file ?
Where ever you save it! If you're looking to create an idle animation, you'll need to set it up first then save it to your model folder!

I can't Add and idk why, elp
Which part are you trying to add? A new physics group?
@@CutieDragon yes.. the add button just grey and i can't click on it.. ;^;
@@CutieDragon I got em work now! Thankkii so much! :D
Are you a margay?
I am yes!
Please put an Arabic translation.
Unfortunately I don't have the capacity to cover several languages!
@@CutieDragon 🥺💔
Why is my pendulum moving only halfway across the parameter!!!!!! Someone help🥹 it’s only blinking halfway!
bruh how do you change the output maximum it wont moveeeeeeeeeeee
In the 'output settings' window you should see a button that says 'increase maximum output' which will automatically adjust the numbers for you! you may need to move the cursor around the physics window first though
