- Hello everyone,
In this video, I have talked about all the type of questions that can be asked in the DGCA CPL/ATPL navigation exam on finding the distance between 2 points, both, the shortest (Great Circle distance) and the Departure.
Make sure you have watched the previous videos on how to find the Chlat and Chlong before watching this one.
Questions covered in this video:-
1. What is the shortest (great circle) distance between (A) London (5137N 00012W) and (B) Accra (0648N 00012W) ?
2. What is the shortest distance between (D) Durban (2930S 03030E) and (E) Leningrad (5947N 03030) ?
3. What is the shortest distance between (F) Rome (4155N 01110E) and (G) Honolulu (2117N 16850W) ?
4. What is the shortest distance between (J) Tokyo (3557N 13535E) and (K) Rio de Janeiro (2210S 04425W) ?
5. What is the shortest distance between (L) Dakar (0000N 01635W) and (M) Singapore (0000N 10355E) ?
6. What is the shortest distance between (N) Greenwich (5130N 00000E) and (P) Antipodes Island (5130S 18000E) ?
7. A flight is to be made along the parallel of latitude from A at 48°00'N 04°00 W to B at 48°00'N 02°27'E. Calculate the distance.
8. An aircraft flies for 1000nm along a rhumb line track of 090° (T) from C at 36°00'N 174°45'E to D. What is the longitude of D?
9. The following rhumb line tracks and distances flown; starting from E in latitude 50°N.
E to F 000°(T) 300nm
F to G 090° (T) 300nm
G to H 180°(T) 300nm
What is the rhumb line bearing and distance of H from E?

Hi sir, can you upload numerical videos on CP/PNR, Time calculation , 1/60 rule, Chart question and Plotting. Thank you for all the effort you put into making these amazing videos.
Greetings from Brazil, I am studying for EASA ATPL and the explanations here are the best of all.
Hello, your videos are crisp and clear, please make a video on convergency,
I can’t explain in words how much you help me . Love you sir
You are the best ! Great explanation. I understood everything. You should providing ATPL course or something like that. You know how to teach each other mate. Greetings from Poland :)
It too the longest of time to understand the chlong.
I have seen different "estimation calculations" but nothing this clear and precise. Thank you for the content!
Very helpful...keep up the good work 👏
Thank you captain,Your videos are very helpful please make videos on instruments
Even though i am complete with the topic i watch the video made by sakar bhaiya on that topic. Because i know there must be a thing which will be new to know and very helpful as well.
Haha, that's so sweet of you buddy! I'll try and keep posting stuff you can watch just to be current with your knowledge!
hi sir love watching ur videos n amazing explaining...
cant thank u enough sir, please keep uploading
Thanks Sir Really Helpful
It's very help full for me
cteaye more video like this to more helpfulfo pilots student
Very helpful!!
nicely explained
Hello and thank you again for these great videos. With respect to last question, I do not understand why the Ch Long (mins) for F to G (55N) and E to H (50N) are both is the same (523'), but are not the same distance (300NM)? Hope I'm explaining myself well enough.
Update: I think I figured it out by reviewing your presentation. The 523' refers to the angular change in degrees which remains constant between meridians, while distance does not.
good, did you attempt last attempt?
Please make some more videos regarding navigation chapters, systems ,technical
Sir plz make more video on general navigation
nice video
Plz make videos on convergency chapter
thankkkk youuu soooo muchh
I found it fantastic
So glad to tell u i passed nav, thank u sir
Congratulations buddy! So happy for you🤩
sir please can you make video on human performance chapter from air regulation
please make a video on convergency
Hi, can you go through the last question again please?
Sir can u please explain in another video the last question of departure
Heyy could you make for met too please for exams in jan
Thanks bhaiya👌👌❤️
Thanks a lot Nikhilesh!
Sir plz make a short video on Q.13 in exercise (An aircraft departs a point 0400N 17000W and flies 600 NM South, followed by 600 NM East, then 600 NM North, then 600 NM West. What is its final position?)
Captain Question 6 please
HELLO PLS CAN YOU SHARE A CHAPTER ON CALCULATIONS OF MERCATOR AND LAMBERT SCALE AND CHART PROBLEMS
Please explain the last question in a particular video
how did you plot the initial 0 degree east longitude and 180 degree east longitude ?? was not able to understand this
minute 11.50 ~ if the sum of the longitudes are not 180, then what do I do?
@blueskiesandtailwinds6004 Could I ask: What if you are planning a trip but not a great circle route, e.g. let's say way above the equator and would be a small circle?
Using Google earth, let's say from Helsinki (Finland) to Oslo (Norway).
As I assume that cannot be a great circle track and would be a small circle line, correct?
BUT the latitude and longitudes would anyhow be different. What would be the formula or how to calculate that distance please?
how did you calculate 51 degree 37' N minus 06 degree 48' N equals to 44 degree 49'??
One doubt here sir, for finding change in latitude, you divided 300 upon 60, but wht does the 60 signify and what does it have to do with the great circle
Please upload video on instrumentation nav asap
Trying my best!
In 6 th sum why we took angular distance directly 180 degree
Start radio plzz .
Sir can you please also explain how to find value for cos (48) as well ?
Just use a scientific calculator, you can use it in the exam as well.
@@blueskiesandtailwinds6004 what about in us exam
@@omiixz31 I’m not aware of the US. Sorry!
Sir, can you explain how you got 164° 39' W .... 35:35
Hi, sir in these questions u didn't tell about this question
1) You are you are at (A) 54°20'N 002°30'W chlat is 16°20'N, chlong 020°30'W to B what is the position of B
Pls help in this one .
Hie, I have a doubt regarding the last some of the this video.
Why did you write 300 = ChLat x 60° to calculate ChLat? I didn't understand why you took 60° there to calculate ChLat.
Hey, refer to the first part of the video.
We are finding the chlat in this using the gc distance.
And the formula to find gc distance is nothing but to multiply the chlat by 60.
It is not actually 60 degrees, it is used to convert angular distance to nms.
Hope its clear now.
didn't get the last one .
At 35:12 min this is wrong clockwise is East and Anticlockwise is west . Answer should be in east
SIR IN QUESTION NUMBER 2 } what to do with 030deg 30` E [MEREDIAN] ?????
EQUATOR IS NOT A GRT CIRCLE ?????
