lemonade5645 ah, i do so love being misinterpeted. i was commenting on how malkin's style is plain, far less fancy tricks or hand wizardry than other players use - it's a style that you can get very good at even without being gifted, a style that doesn't rely on flash, just muscle memory and practice. getting extremely good at that is achievable for any player if they put in the work, even those who start as adults(though it's easier for kids). and sure, yeah, he'd wreck me(i possess no illusions about that), even at my hockey playing peak. in large part because where is IS gifted is in his playmaking and his ability to read the game and find the right thing to do at a given time. i don't have that skill at anywhere near the same level, so i'd get caught out.
