One moment that sticks out for me is in the episode where Alex is graduating and is feeling like dropping out of her graduation and Haley pulls up a theory out of thin air and makes Alex feel better - something her entire family tried to do and failed. I think it's S10 E21
My dad's rule was "Don't friend me until you're 18 and then when you go to college you can friend me so that I can keep up with what you're doing." I think that was a good strategy.

I love how Phil just got to know his kids just by doing something for them and talking to them. Lots of parents try to use secret ways to get to know thier kids cause starting conversations with them out of the blue is awkward but if you are doing something together then talking with them is easier
