The problem is all these people that do out of pocket crap are going to be the ones that are tied to the creators forever, possibly by name, rather than the people who politely and unobtrusively enjoy the thing. Most fandoms are defined by their worst "incident." Even my fairly small fandom for an actor has 'an incident' that people will cite and typically be wrong about but they want to paint people with a broad nasty brush and even fellow fans will bring it up as a way of saying "we're not like that."
I don’t know how this video found me But what I do know is that this video is actually amazing. I’m in no way a part of band RPF fandom, but all you said can still be applied to me or other people. I think everyone should sometimes remind themselves about this:)

3:10 I would avoid "fandom is a place for women" (or you mean, trans identified afabs) because its queer people. fandom is a place Of and for queer people. this is including transmasculine and transfeminine people and nonbinary people of both sex origins. let's be real, if you go into fandom as a woman you usually do not come out of fandom as strictly a woman, if at all
I remember getting involved more with Fandom spaces around my Gaga phase. Man, the Gaga fandom can be toxic sometimes. One website I was on Gagadaily has so much shit about some mods and the owner being pretty awful people (I remember the owner being pretty xenophobic towards Brazilians (I think in Twitter), and people where spamming their Twitter and Instagram saying to apologize.) Another website I used was called Brick Hill (DO NOT GO ON THAT SITE), I remember expressing my love for Gaga alot on the site even making a Fan group for her. Years later the owner (Spacebuilder) would get arrested for trying to meetup with a minor. I wasn't on the site during that time since I have quit wayy before that happened, but man it was really really surpising to find out about. The guy still gets money somehow when you go onto the site, but the game is really dead so it isn't much. The other three phases I have had/currently in were not like that (thank god).
