This was absolutely epic to watch. Listening to all the information and call outs whilst taking in the entire picture of what you were dealing with was brilliant. The hornet is a fantastic dogfighter in DCS, one of the few aircraft I can actually use effectively air to air. Great stuff Tim!

@@FastJetPerformance Good show! Next time if you don't want them to be so angry, don't paint your name on the canopy. Once they read "DAVIES" their blood instantly boiled remembering that TOP SECRET Brief of you being that guy who waxed so many of their Comrades over the North Sea.
Awesome to watch - as a very new DCS hornet pilot - watching a real pilot in wild fur balls - calling out all the things that he’s looking for - speed, aspect, fuel calls, vectoring etc. it’s insightful
This was intense and interesting to watch, especially since we can hear your "thoughts" on each separate moment of the fight. The only alteration I'd be fond of is a little PIP somewhere in the lower corner with Tacview overhead rendering of the fight.
That was crazy. I have been watching all the handling stuff in the hawk, and thinking wow there's a lot going on. Forgetting that you are there to use the aircraft to fight. So much greater workload. Throwing the jet around the sky. Loved it.
At slow speed and above 20 units of alpha your rudders have huge authority to roll the jet it works really well if you are coming over the top at really low speed. You can stomp a rudder and the jet just rotates the nose to point anywhere. Great for a 9x shot from above. 380 kts is kind of the sweet spot to get a good rate, and a small turn circle. G-limiter will keep your max G down until you burn off a bunch of fuel. When you select gun the radar goes to wide scan ACM mode. Forward Castle switch slaves the radar bore site to the helmet. You have to hit the switch every time it drops the lock. Aft castle for vertical scan mode. You can pull massive alpha without a departure but you pay with airspeed. It can force an overshoot if the guys is about to gun you. You can drag him into a low speed scissors. Just mind your altitude. The jet is controllable even at 70 kts, but will be descending at high alpha.
That was awesome Tim, even I was sweating just watching. Have a look at a guy called Mover, he and some other ex military pilots have just finished commentating on the DCS Digital Dog fighting Championships 2020,.
