If anyone remembers, this is Rear Sekai that was released in Japan I think last year or earlier this year. It was developed by the producer of the Rune Factory games, so that's why it seems familiar, but it is not one of the new Rune Factory games. This was on my list. I am so getting this!

Damn okay I'm buying and playing this today lmao this looks amazing. It looks specifically like Rune Factory 4 mixed with Fantasy Life (at least visually). It's interesting that they want to keep that visual style but advance the rune factory IP seperately with its own artstyle. Big lovely surprise seeing this game though

@@magicmungis8822 Silent Hope is also a "bad" game, but I'm so glad I bought it! The story was really cute, and while this genre isn't exactly my favorite, I think it's good to invest in the RF team's tech demo experiments every now and again when they're on sale!

Worst title for a video game I've seen in a while. I thought Square Enix was behind this for a second.
Kinda wish we would move away from purposefully chibi 3D models. It made sense back then for SNES where we had limitations with the Pixel art. Now that we have less limitations, we can have more fully realized 3D characters. Having samey Chibi sprites just looks cheap, and I find most games that do this look the same.
It's just an art style. 3D chibi models in the modern day aren't a bad thing. This comment reads like you're overreacting. If you don't like it, that's fine. Other people like the like the game.

That's a fair criticism of the "nitpick". I think it comes from wanting a distinct style, and these sort of chibi-models look rather samey across other games that have done this style in the past.
There are other things that overall seem to diminish it, like the UI design, or animations seeming choppy.

Y'know I would love a game with all the adventuring like this but more nuanced gameplay and without any of the farming nonsense.... essentially a game like YS but perhaps less for a story experience and just more for a fun grind.
Wonder if we'll ever see a game like that that isn't an MMO.

@@ChrisEIBbasically too expensive. It's fun grindy game and you can overlook the flaws (bad localisation, barebones story, super repeated dungeons, recolor enemies, etc) if it was 10-15 bucks game
