@@AxieExplained I dont remember if its Coin Bureau or some other youtubers said, Axie Infinity has yet to fail their proposed road map in the 2018-2021 period. The land gameplay was already demo'ed as early as Dec. 2020, so with this info, we can prolly assume that some other future updates are already ready but they were just sidetracked because of the big influx of players.

There is no sink for axies. Thus they will inflate forever where the playerbase has a fixed ceiling (7B players?). If axies aged.... and died then things would be more balanced. As it stands, the future value of axies will eventually decline due to hyperinflation. Axie "infinity" is an apt name. It's hard to tell what the supply / demand will look like with SLP in the longer term.
🔥 You missed the whole point about future game mechanics that Chief of Growth laid out - there will be a burn mechanic (decrease Axie supply) to craft items / armor / etc.

Sky Mavis don't just make 4.25 percent of the sales. They make more than 90 percent. The AXS you need to breed are given to Sky Mavis, which in turn sells it to others who need to breed more... so, if you look at how much you need to pay for the AXS and add that 4.25 percent, the vast majority of the money an axie is sold for end up at Sky Mavis...
That's why invest only what you can afford to lose. Axie Infinity is really a Great investment now but before buying or investing, u should DYOR (DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH) first. I don't think you really struck the point that most people are thinking about. You are saying that since there are only about 350k axie players and about an expected potential of 35mil players then it's "safe" to invest. But with that logic, then the economy will inevitably crash and burn since there is an obvious roof to crash unto, aka the 35mil potential players. If that is so, then it would be more and more risky to invest in the game as the player count approaches 35 mi, will it not?

Thanks for the informative video. I have a few questions, though: I understand that Axie needs continual growth for it to be as profitable as it is now. But, specifically, what kind of growth? The way I see it is that it needs exponential growth (much like what it's experiencing now) in order to maintain the same level of profitability. Plain and simple growth isn't going to cut it. Once the number of existing players becomes significantly greater than new players coming in, the game's economy would take a plunge. I guess the million dollar question is, will the devs be able to maintain such growth and for how long? I'd love to hear your thoughts on this.

I still want to make a seperate video on htis since it is a whole topic on its own but the simple answer is: Continuous development of new game modes that expands the "products" you can earn, buy and sell. It still makes no sence to me tbh. The only explanation you give is that SLP is worth money because people buy or burn slp in breeding. But breeders very, very rarely buy slp, they use the slp that they farmed or that their scholars farmed. So it still makes no sence to me, their is a big majority of people gaining slp and a big minority that actually do buy or burn slp.

Almost everyone has the ability in that game to eventually have a meta stomping deck without paying a cent. Yes it is difficult to find a comparison but I still feel like axie is a long way off from being playable by a casual crypto gatherer (think banano or some other very easy way to acquire coins). It's mostly targeting the whales as it is.
Only 1 of the 3 points you mentioned actually address the argument that Axie Infinity is similar to a Ponzi, the first. It's true that Sky Mavis does not directly receive the money, but as you yourself mentioned, they profit from the marketplace, and the marketplace prices are hugely affected by new money coming in, just like in a Ponzi. It's not exactly the same, but these two facts are: 1. The amount the devs are making, and the current players are able to make are more influenced by the money coming in than the axie's actual value. 2. The whole system of making money is dependent on "investors" buying axies and nothing else. The reason is simple, the reason the game is being played right now is to make money. And you can only make (significant) money with the game as long as new players are buying axies. There is no way to keep the playerbase spending money except for the AXS rewards in the Arena, and that is not enough.
that suggests a potential bubble, not a ponzi scheme. Keep in mind that they have been working for years on this and its just starting to take off. On a side note, partners like ubisoft and samsung are not easy to get, and they certainly dont want to be associated with ponzi schemes. The prices are also heavily affected by people from the sidelines (people that dont even play the game) who invests in the axs tokens. Whales have their eyes on anything that makes noise, and currently the biggest nft project is something that makes a lot of noise. All in all i say they have more than enough for the time beign. There is a lot of things planned on the road map that can expand this universe, including axie burning which will make a huge impact as well.

There is simply no denying the fact that as it stands the payout is significant because new money is coming in and that it needs to keep that money coming in to be sustainable.

Sky Mavis take 5% of each transaction, so that's the same as making money on a pyramid scheme, just being a bit less greedy. The current roi is one month, $1000 to make $250 a week. That means a doubling of the player base each month. That means a player base of 350 million users by May. There's no way they could generate enough revenue to sustain a player base that large once new players aren't coming into the game.

Game itself not decentralised. SLP and AXS is. If you got banned from the game, you just stop making SLP and can’t sell the Axie.

The prices are also heavily affected by people from the sidelines (people that dont even play the game) who invests in the axs tokens. Whales have their eyes on anything that makes noise, and currently the biggest nft project is something that makes a lot of noise. All in all i say they have more than enough for the time beign. There is a lot of things planned on the road map that can expand this universe, including axie burning which will make a huge impact as well.
@@Mm-dn5gc the "working for years" is IMO a negative but that's not a huge factor anyway. There were kickstarter scams that took years to make too.
Prices being affected by traders/whales is also irrelevant, Bitconnect had traders too. It is a fact that Axie took off because you can make money with it, and the amount depends on the value of SLP. It's a cycle as the video mentioned.
There is simply no denying the fact that as it stands the payout is significant because new money is coming in and that it needs to keep that money coming in to be sustainable.
@@Mm-dn5gc also I'd just like to add, I am not saying it is a scam. But that the economy is similar to a Ponzi. Changes have to be made so that the axies' and coins' price match their inherent value so that payout becomes sustainable without relying on new money coming in.

Sky Mavis take 5% of each transaction, so that's the same as making money on a pyramid scheme, just being a bit less greedy.
The current roi is one month, $1000 to make $250 a week. That means a doubling of the player base each month. That means a player base of 350 million users by May. There's no way they could generate enough revenue to sustain a player base that large once new players aren't coming into the game.
Its worse cause there are cheaters in PVP that will fight you
