There have been a lot of great opening scenes in film, Lost Raiders, classic 007 films, but this is probably the best opening scene ever.
I noticed Scott shifted his coffee cup from one hand to the other. Obviously he knew they were the men and was preparing to shoot.
This is one of the very best westerns ever made, but almost unknown today.
Its never shown on tv due to Waynes estate.
This is Gail Russell's successful "come back" film,"Seven Men From Now",the 1956 Western starring Randolph Scott and Lee Marvin. It was also due to Gail's friendship with John Wayne,who loved and admired Gail since their co-starring roles in "Angel and the Badman" in 1947,and "Wake of the Red Witch" in 1948. It was also Wayne's promise to pay her back for Gail's testimony in court which cleared him of adultery charges during his divorce trial in October of 1953. During the first day of filming the "mud hole" scene in "Seven Men From Now", director Budd Boetticher was dissatisfied with the make-up job on Gail that made her look like she had fallen into the slush. Gail unexpectedly asked the filming crew to wait,then,on her own,fell face first into the mud. After several takes, Boetticher was satisfied with the result. From then on,Gail had the admiration and respect of the entire cast and film crew. I read that when the film was done , Wayne reedited the film without Boetticher"s approval with John Ford and the film sucked but since Botticher was hired back to put the film back his way and this was his results.

Pellicola molto bella, nulla di eccezionale ma comunque si lascia seguire, ci sono degli errori come il fatto che il vestito di Russell ha un'evidente cerniera sul retro, molto prima che venissero inventate, quindi molto bella e molto bella per me come valutazione è 7,5.
