Mr. Smooth- I literally can’t express how fortunate I feel to have stumbled upon your tutorials. It seems like you’re aware of videos with too much banter and shop talk and not enough building chops. You’ve trimmed all the fat. Everything about your teaching style is so on point. Thank you for sharing the methodology you’ve worked so hard to find that gave you “your voice”. Love and Respect from Austin, Texas.
I have been on a pateau and on the verge of guitarist depression because as much as my playing was nice I just wasn't feeling it, I have searched and went through countless videos and honestly I am glad I found this. I am going to commit the next days to learning and applying this. Thank you so much.❤🔥❤🔥
Great lesson, Kerry, love the embellishment ideas, on a fairly simple chord progression, and how you bring so much feeling to it! Reminds me of a modern version of the sort of style Curtis Mayfield did so beautifully, back in the 60's & 70's. All the best from down under, cheers
this was definitely advanced for me, but i was able to follow along w a pen and paper in hand. writing out the scale and numbers helps too. thanks again for the video K.
Funny because I know inversions I just fail to use them or being mindful of my bassist or keyboardist. Thanks Kerry I love the way you use that sauce on your chords!!
Hey man I'm always looking for ways to add flavor and emotion to my playing. This gave me some good info. Also as a bassist thanks for teaching people to lay off them bass notes lol
This was more advanced for me as well. Your teaching pace was perfect for me though. And you made it very clear what the ideology was behind everything. Thank you man.
I wish I could play like you ! I write lyrics like you play. But, I really wish I could play like that, too. You are very talented. Thank you so much for sharing your AWESOMENESS !
@@derekhall9892 I have my own publishing company with songs that cover all genres. All songs are written by myself. I license my songs to artists who want to record and perform them. But, I don’t write songs and simply give them away. I am currently working with a hip hop artist right now. What style of music are you seeking ? Do you have a RUclips channel I can view to see your style ?
Hey brother, I'm blown away with your method, thank you for putting out great videos for those of us trying to learn how to pimp the soul out of those strings. Keep putting it out brother.
This lesson and your channel have changed my entire approach to guitar forever. After years of bluesy noodling with no real direction or complete ideas, I’m now combining melody harmony and rhythm into this thing we call music. Thank you thank you and thank you.
A little advanced for me (as far as theory) - but I can thankfully Play-it. I really enjoy Your guitar playing so much. It's colorful and interesting. Loving the lessons.
Traids inversions 7th 9th dim chords just make it all so good then the little licks boom sounding dope with a little more thought than just doing it plane jane 👏👏👏
Absolutely love your videos. Really like your major scale concept, I find it way easier to understand music. Your neo soul guitar lessons are so clear, it is exactly what I need.
Bro you the real MVP, damn good teacher! I am a total newb but once I get my beginner lessons out of the way I am definitely gonna check out Kerry's kamp.
Aye man, I just wanted to say I think you're a great player and teacher. I'm a bass player working on my guitar playing and I've been shedding your stuff the last couple of months. You explain things well and in a very relatable way. Preciate your channel bruh
Was writing a comment and had to stop because you starting playing again and your chords sound so silky. !!!! You teach a fantastic method of adding flavor to what others may sound flat/dull. 3rd of your vids and I'm all over it !! Peace again from Philly.
Would you happen to know how to play in the open F sharp tuning that C Mayfield was famous for playing in, or alternatively could you possibly make a tutorial on capturing Mayfield's style in standard tuning? Thanks for the lessons.
Yes!! Love this Kerry!! This is what I'm looking to dive deeper into! Learning to add that "sauce" to chord progressions and better to understand those "movements!" Not only how and when to apply them, but again to better understand where each chord fragment, triad or movement comes from. To me it's all just as important. That said, thanks so much for all you do! I'll be drilling this all week for sure and even longer if needed! Definitely keep these type of lessons coming here and at (of course extended) at Kerrys Kamp!! Thanks again! - Johnny Rodríguez aka jrvisions
Kerry, greetings from Bellmore N.Y. !!! love your channel and your teaching ability! I'm really getting into the neo-soul/r&b sound and you are extremely helpful. Going to sign up to your course asa this pandemic ends (I run a pizza place and we are extremely busy right now!) Keep it coming, and thanks a million.
