I always found it odd that he was using a communicator to talk to someone who was on Earth when Kirk is supposed to be on the outskirts of Klingon space. Their range isn't that far.
re the movie itself: as bad as the "plot" was, the ONE aspect of this movie that irks me the absolute MOST: when Scotty opens the airlock to let kirk & Khan fly in through the airlock, before depressurizing, Scotty takes a deep breath as if he's about to go under water. Going into the vacuum of space, even for the few seconds, a deep breath is something you never EVER do!!!! The air in your lungs in a vacuum will kill you faster than lack of oxygen, the radiation,, blood boiling, burns, et al combined. You'd think an intelligent, veteran officer who works in SPACE would know this. Science 101. (I guess the filmmakers would have ignored EVERY note any "science adviser" gave them on this flick for the purpose of brain-dead entertainment if they would have even hired an IRL science advisor).
I don't think that is actually true in the way you describe it. Issue are closer to Decompression sickness, and that is not really effected by having air inside the lungs or not. Decompression sickness is caused because under pressure gasses (Helium, nitrogen) become more soluable in the blood, and the rate of ascend is faster than the bodies capability to process the those gasses forming back in the blood. From Wiki: Biggest risk is rapid de-oxygination of blood, because oxygen will just boil off. If this hypoxiated blood reaches the brain you will loose consciousness. Also ebulism where gasses being to form due to the lowered pressure, causing bubbles to form in fluid, and causing expansion in and off the body. This is something where the body tissues are elastic and porreous enough to avoid rapture. I would even be inclined to say that breathing (somewhat) would help to avoid the lungs collapsing.
@@Tuning3434 Sorry. I am correct... y'know SCIENCE & all... if you hold your breath before getting decompressed & going into a vacuum, your lungs will RUPTURE. Period. That's just how it works. You kind of need your lungs to survive, regardless if you are saved a few minutes later. If lungs rupture, you are as good as dead. Also, the rest of the oxygen in your blood will expand making you balloon up (but not explode). Glad I could educate you with truth/facts.
@@Tuning3434 Nope, having a lungs full of air will likely obliterate your lungs when the air rushes out at the speed of sound. I believe this was mentioned to some degree in TNG, I think it was Riker or La Forge telling someone to breathe out before the cargo bay decompresses as to not rupture the lungs, it's been over 10 years since my last rewatch of TNG so i dont recall it exactly.
JJ Abrams doesn't understand Scotty wouldn't ruin good scotch with a giant ice-sphere. Great edit though. Approved! Thumbs-up once again!
But of course Scotty would be down for a quickie wedding on Risa..
It's a shitty, loud, nightclub. Best scotch they have probably comes in a red label version.
Oh, Scotty's got the perfect thrusters for those docking procedures as he handles your ample nacelles.
“I'm giving her all I’ve got, Captain!”
She cannae take any more!
Damnit that's an exhaust port, not a docking bay, slow down! Feels like you're doing warp 9.
So this is where the uncomfortable circle and the laughter circle meet in the Star Trek venn diagram. 😂
Despite getting drunk married in Vegas by an Elvis impersonator, those two are still happily married.
Well of course it was an Elvis impersonator. Elvis is far too expensive.
@@elzoof They thawed Elvis but he was upset "Y'all should've let me sleep!!!"
Scotty's workin his way through the whole crew.
Another seamless intake, but when you look closely you can see when the same guy walks past Kirk twice in two different shots
I love the movie ones! Thanks for all of your hard work on these, Ryan.
"Why didn't ye just text me the numbers, ya ponce?"
Rifftrax made that joke as well. 😂😂😂
It was a beautiful wedding.
I would imagine if they did put that in the film, it would get Banns
Brilliant!

He's using it like a cell phone
As a Result U.S.S. Enterprise was hopelessly destroyed by U.S.S. Vengeance, who blamed it on the Klingon Empire at Kronos (Actually spelled Qo'nos).

@@brefasdra It was Dr. Crusher and Geordi in the cargo bay. They had to put out a plasma fire.
