Enjoyed this video as well on this 1952 Chevy pickup. Your really on point checking out all the details. To get these will they run . Those straight 6 cylinders are almost indestructible. Thanks for sharing your talent and experience. 💯👊👍
Please make more cold starts of this truck and anything else carbureted you have and show us what you do with the gas pedal and controls to get them started. Awesome channel!
Hi, I’m a new subscriber, I enjoyed the video. I had a ‘50 Chevy Pickup back in the 70’s,ran great, never had a problem with the Pickup. Looking forward to seeing another video of the ‘50 Chevy Pickup.Take Care, Your Oregon Friend ☮️
I have owned 6 Chevys in my lifetime i still have 2 in my back yard. One with a V8 Chevy engine- One with a 6 cylinder with 50 thousand original miles on it. I know it has 50 thousand miles because my grand dad bought it new. The other Chevy Has 80 thousand miles on it. All Chevys from 1947 to 1954 -1/2. CAME WITH A 6 CYLINDER ENGINE. last part of 1954 they put out a small V8. 265 cu in. Then The 283. When i was a young man every one wanted a 283 I owned a 265. then i bought a roaster off a used car-lot it had a 283 V8 Chevy engine i drove 10 miles took me 3 hours to drive it 10 miles. i took it back to the dealer and swapped it for a 1953 Chevy convertible. The salesman asked me why i didn't like the roadster. I told him it took me 3 hours to go 10 miles because every mile a cop would pull me over to check out my roadster for brakes and horn, turn signals lights noise (mufflers) I could not drive over to my girl friends house to give her a ride in my car!!! Oh i almost forgot It had 1964 T-bird bucket seats then the young cop said "Those bucket SEATS where did they come from?? My T-Bird Has the same bucket seats. I said they came with the roadster. He said OH YEA They came with the Roadster SURE!!! I said the Car Lot I bought the car is one block back so follow me back there!! I pulled in the lot and the Cops were right on my tail. they got out and i asked the sales man. DID THAT CAR HAVE THOSE SEATS IN IT WHEN I BOUGHT IT?? THE sales man said yes those seats were in it when you bought it. So i swapped it for a 1953 Chevy.
Pour an eggcup of fuel in the carb when trying to start old vehicles to let the fuel fumes fill the intakes so when it turns it can fire on fumes before it speeds up enough to suck fuel through the carb jets!
Grew up around these grandpa has a 55 I’ve got a 47. 50, 52, and 53 in my yard ranging from running to about as far from road worthy as it gets without considering it just parts. Always have a laugh when one of these engines sits for years then fires up
@@Rustwrangler they’re definitely hard to kill I’ve seen them run for a few years with a hole in the side of the block and the owner just kept topping it off with oil
Sadly soon all gas cars will be banned in EU and USA! In France they have a new banning law for ICE cars called SCHLABOUBVE and in Switzerland the HESCHLAVVO law and in Germany the BABVVO and TEBBVO laws!!!
Hello and now that I've had my inaugural viewing of your channel, I say good on ya there for your stick-to-itive work ethic, as it paid off ultimately. Yeah, this was the first time for me to see one of your videos. I had the video running while I did a few chores nearby, this is of course my way of telling you I can listen to your commentary* and listen to the noise the engine was producing all while not seeing every minute of video and still I found the content compelling enough to stick with this upload to the end. *IOW your commentary is spoken well enough so that even a visually impaired person can follow along. p.s. the numbers after 3 weeks shows you have 31K views, that's impressive with only 1.02K subs. I'm guessing peeps follow you on other medium platforms and many may even be sharing your upload, whatever is the cause, again I say, 'IMPRESSIVE!' Four out of 5 ['s] for content and editing in my humble opinion. I'll be checking out other uploads from you soon. Have a safe, sane and sensible day.
Grandaddy had a 1953 Chevrolet truck with stove bolt six under the hood.216 c.i.
Good job brother. I love seeing these old vehicles being brought back to life by guys like you. That's awesome.
Thank you!
Never would have believed that the points gap was that critical. You live and learn. Well done feller. 🇬🇧👍
I learned quite a bit on this truck as well, thank you for watching!

Not a lot of wires in the hood.
Life was simple in the golden days❤ as I was told by senior citizens.
Loved the video. Loved the Truck :)
Hey, thanks a lot!

Good job...
Thank you!
Those spiders may be trained to grab back of the wheels to stop the truck!
Hold the carb open and check the compression
Great job brother got that old Chevy running, thanks for sharing your video.
Thank you!
You should spray it in the carb
Very good ,,,,,
You could probably take some #0000 steel wool and bring those wheels back to shining again.
Pour an eggcup of fuel in the carb when trying to start old vehicles to let the fuel fumes fill the intakes so when it turns it can fire on fumes before it speeds up enough to suck fuel through the carb jets!
Ok, thanks for the tip.
The way it turns over is vety slow especially for a6 volt on 12 volt power maybe you need a heavyer pair of jumper cables?
Threw a battery in it later in the video, and it turned over like a champ.
I checked the timing on
Where are you located? I'm in Rome Georgia.
I’m on the west coast, so we’re about 2000 miles apart.

Awesome! Yea seems like these things just never die right!?
@@Rustwrangler they’re definitely hard to kill I’ve seen them run for a few years with a hole in the side of the block and the owner just kept topping it off with oil
It wouldn't hurt to double-check that valve adjustments on their why you got smile cover off
Yes, definitely. Thank you!
is the ignition on?
That oil looks like it is water in it.
blown head gasket? there is water getting into the oil.
Yea, not sure why it had milky oil, but it doesn’t appear to be losing any coolant.
Some of those valves looks as if they need adjusted , they look like they're lifting off the valves
Where did you find such a rust free truck up here in the PNW?
Someone else found this truck, I’m guessing it may have been stored under cover.
@@Rustwrangler nice 👍
Pull the starter and check it out
You got to know what you doing.
Is that a 235 or 261 engine?
It’s been awhile since I worked on this truck, but if I remember correctly, i had thought it had a 216.
You need to invest in some good jumper cables.
Yours ain’t much better than speaker wire.
Yes it will
You need a battery or stater
You going burn the starter up before you get running
Sadly soon all gas cars will be banned in EU and USA! In France they have a new banning law for ICE cars called SCHLABOUBVE and in Switzerland the HESCHLAVVO law and in Germany the BABVVO and TEBBVO laws!!!
You need to put a battery in it
The audio sucks
Can’t hear you in thetruck
I am not a Chevy person.
Get a battery! You going to burn the starter up.🙄
Someone tell him to buy a battery!
If you keep watching, I ended up buying a battery, and yes, the starter turned over way better after that.
That is not a 52 engine it is a235 53 or latter
Put some oil in the cylinders to begin with and get a set of 1 gauge booster cables.
