    I'm not sure if anyone is "too good" to play 2nd. It may be an underrated chair, but it requires a special skill set either way. Some people actually prefer 2nd over Principal, depending on many factors.

    Everyone is entitled to their opinion my friend. In the last movement, I personally like a shorter, more bouncy style, but every musician has their own interpretation.

    While composed for Alto Trombone, is it possible to play this work well on Tenor Trombone?

      Sure it is, if u have a shallow mouthpiece. It is very high register. I prefer alto tone in this piece.

    Hope he'll get Jay's job when he retires, or CSO should promote him without audition ... this man is too good for a 2nd trombone player IMO. ^^

    Evrything i heard in this peace was awesome, but in my opinion in the solos in the second part he should play with a bit more accents/saccatos.
