Good Stuff Jack! Please keep it up. I have always fantasized of telling the committee that I have worked for 30 years and took a day off of work, so you are gonna sit there and listen to me. I actually think it is a good move, if you have the goods, and they already want to cut you, what do you have to lose? If nothing else you are showing confidence and get to play. What are they gonna do? That said, most folks probably shouldn't risk it.
Excellent video as always! I also love that you got a real recording for the channel intro. The midi just never sat great with me, but this sounds great!
Back playing 3 yrs after 16/17 years off lost frnt teeth. I'm getting that sweet spot more often now phew it's been frustrating 💯 % fullfiling 💯 % suprising that i now think teeth ? they just got in the way 😊
Just to be clear -- the Serocki concerto that Prof. Mulcahy played in his audition is not the same piece as the Serocki sonatina. The page of music shown and the audio example are both from the latter.
Know, Hear, Play. That's going to fly over a lot of heads. It isn't always about gear and insane practice regimes (they have their place), but about the mindset of the player. I always focus on tone and strive to reproduce what I hear in my mind. It turns out pretty good sometimes. It would turn out better if I actually practiced instead of commenting on RUclips videos.
@@TheTromboneChannel that's that one debunked then, guess all those students who felt their education was severely impacted by this man were just lying, nice one.
Northwestern’s track record of producing phenomenal trombonists since he’s been there proves this otherwise. Those reviews are likely from his worst students who don’t want to deal with criticism.
I worked really hard to get this video out before the end of this weekend. Hope you all enjoy!
I’d love to hear him on Monette trombone mouthpieces! I recently had a chance to play on one and I’ll
Never be the same!
Jack, these are truly a gift to the trombone world. Thanks for putting these videos out!

I mean wow, nobody makes videos like this! Well made, informative, and unique. You are quickly becoming one of my favorites! 😊
THANK YOU!!!

Nice person trombonist and teatcher Michael Mulcahy. ❤
Very interesting! I've known for decades what a wonderful player and musician Mr. Mulcahy is, but l had never really heard his story before.

this guy's rating on ratemyprof is pretty low, saying that he's hardly ever there and when he is there he's pretty unpleasant
Most ppl who submit reviews publish negative ones.

The fact that he plays with a thayer valve makes me lose all respect for him. His knowledge is null
