really enjoying the old school starcraft gameplay, for us older (grandpa gamers) this is golden, I also enjoy telling all the younger kids where esports started and where GG comes from.
I will give it to Artosis, even though he gets pissy and butt hurt about losing. He genuinely gets excited about playing against someone he knows is gona beat him. And ge still tries.
Good game. I always thought one of the best parts of SK terran style was the ability to do drops since you are already going double port add-on. But it's a lot of extra multitask to handle drops, and it's very intensive to control as it is. I've noticed a very similar pattern when Arty plays really good Zergs: he pushes out initially, the great muta micro wittles him down. He retreats and builds up, and by then it feels like it's already too late. Good Zergs are really terrifying.
Drops are a good strategy if you dominated the early MM vs muta exchange, which in this case was the opposite. It's because it was 2 hatch play from zerg, which artosis responded with 2 rax academy (which is correct). However, he macros as if it were 3 hatch vs +1 5 rax: he tries to trade 2 rax army with mutas instead of responding with equally fast tech into fast vessels, which can only result in losing his MM and also late vessels, thus late push.
@@gatewayman118 Ahh, good analysis thank you. That makes sense. Thinking about his past few games versus good Zergs (Wico most recently besides ArtUser) I do notice his vessel tech is quite slow.
I remember trying to really learn scbw in the summer of 2017. Not killing Zerg with my 5 rax push basically meant it was autolose. Felt impossible to win vs Zerg ones ultras and defilers were out.
The awkward moment when the progamer is destroying your entire army with mutas while teching to hive and lurkers and taking extra bases. He could have just ran in lings and ended the games way earlier but he does not need this kind of shortcutting.
the mutas that force you to build a dozen turrets (~1k minerals?) that then gives him the leeway to expand 1-2x is what is killing you. Also you're queuing up your unit production sometimes 3-4-5x, locking up minerals when you could be building another CC or production buildings.
After watching like 100 artosis games. I feel like he's best when he rushes or pushes because his macro is meh. He should master bunker rushing or not fast expoing and just rax pushing instead. He'll do better. Granted he does beat lower level zergs with his fast expo build. But he's not outmicroing and outmacroing this guy. An all in build might counter him though.
I miss the sound effects for tanks, and when lings hit things. Sounds so good. Sc2 lings barely make a sound when they hit something, and the tanks dont have enough bass. The boom just doesnt punch quite like in sc1.
I wish SCVs had a lisp when they said yes sir, like “ yes thir? “ Then on the next command they’d say Yes Thir! On another note, you seemed on your a game here.
12:50 our boy Arty really needs to work on his vessel control. 15 years ago slayers boxer had better vessel control than artosis does today. ruclips.net/video/66fD4SVdaIA/видео.html
Yes, there's two. First is the Goliath Build where you go right into a mass of Goliaths. Second is the mech build where you go Medic-marine then transition into mech. Both are very dangerous and scary for the Z to deal with.
@@gatewayman118 In the opening minute, he over-clicked, dozens of times, just hoping he would get the SCV to start mining in the split-second it spawned from the CC. Comprehending the 'why' behind something doesn't detract from what it is.
@@AaronCMounts That's normal behavior, you try to optimize any small thing and by starting out fast you are getting used to the speed you will need later on in the game. Starcraft is a very demanding game, you can not be good at it unless you are very very fast with your mouse and keyboard.
@@AaronCMounts You say that like it's a bad thing? Besides that, it has never been any different. Did you ever even play this game at any competitive level?

you can tell, he was pushing himself to the limit in that game.

Playing against a progamer feels like trying to stop a flooding with a bucket... It's just incredibly difficult to keep up.
That's exactly what the game felt like. Artosis kept winning every battle until he lost the game.

this guy is like on another level of control holy shit
The way he hides zerglings at untaken base locations is so old school and satisfying to see.
I've never seen a skilled western player like this. Thumbs up☝ (anybody play starcraft anymore except korean. So sad)

Yeah, once he had *_SIX_* bases to Artosis' ONE (active) base, It was basically just a "desperate alliance" style holdout mission.

That's why pros go tech switch after muta...
can you float sth like e-bay up to gain cliff vision and save 23543262352 minerals from muta harass?

Nice game Artosis!
Holy fuck what a frantic game, I honestly can't even imagine going head to head against someone playing like that, let alone beating them.
In StarCraft 2 these mutalisks would insta-die when targeted by marines Group.

"Nobody beat's me 9 times in a row" - So its safe to say he beat u 8 other time and now he's clowning with mutas

Why didn't artosis go into bcs/tanks?
BCs are useless when there's that many scourge and defiler plagues.
and Tanks aren't that great against Zerg when they mass lings.
