    Love you Video Rob. I’m a compulsive gambler that has lost over 600+k and it just hurts me. It just feels like when I was gambling last time I was like a possessed zombie that just can’t stop depositing and depositing when I lose and even when I’m up I just can’t stop. Have been depressed on many important occasions like Mother’s Day, Girlfriend’s birthday, Family Birthday’s and also Christmas and New Years. What you said about how our mood is being determined from gambling is just so so true and I really want to break free from this addiction. For me it was usually playing to win an amount enough to maybe take a vacation or sometimes even playing to eat a meal sounds ridiculous I know…. Am ready to do it now! ODAAT!

    Yes, kicking off around other addicts is vital, but like many I found 12 step groups didn't work for me. Instead, I did a residential CBT course for 28 days. Downside to CBT is it's bloody hard, you have to practice it *_religiously._*
    Anyway, a full 5yrs later [yep] I had my 'aha!' moment. As a very lapsed Anglican I thought "time to leverage my agnosticism into TBCBT". 'Theistically Based CBT'. I ask the J-man for help in my decision making [a lot, I'm an idiot] & don't expect immediate answers. It's a bit more complicated, but it works for me. If 12 steps isn't your thing, maybe try it out. I dunno.
    Thanks from Chevron Island, Qld Rob. I'm sure your work is helping people like us have better lives.

    thank you Rob for making this. today is my day 1. Ive gambled for 9 months now, lost about 10k usd. I know now is not too late to quit. I know my lost money is not recoverable. Im too sick of staying up late gambling, im sick of the bad beats, im sick of the sweats and stress.

    I like your vids but please stop putting triggering videos in of casino game stuff🙏

    • @Odaat_Recovery
      @Odaat_Recovery  5 месяцев назад +2

      Everything in the video is designed to capture the emotion of what i’m saying. I mean this from a genuine place: if seeing casino images is triggering you should not be watching any videos online at all on the topic, positive or negative, you aren’t ready

    • @mattyox1
      @mattyox1 5 месяцев назад +1

      @rob_odaat I very much disagree, you can put out the same level of content just without including the 1 or 2 second clips that can trigger people. Not even trigger but just put that seed back in the mind. Small thing that nobody would care if you removed, but could make a difference to one person in the right way

      @mattyox1 Bruh, if a snapshot of a slot machine is too much for you, best buy a helmet. Because the rest of your life is going to be rough as hell.
