    Hmmmmmm, with all due respect, 50 feet is not "tiny" in boat terms. But, your boat seems lovely and I wish you both happy and safe travels. Now I must go and wash my "cheap" Ferrari :-)

    If you win lotto, you could build a solid dodger over the companionway, leading aft with canvas top, with drop down clear sides and it creates an outside "room" protected from the weather. Great for al fresco dining at sunset.....She is a nice boat. One of the better European models. The deck saloon is esthetically pleasing to the eye to look at.

    ... thx for the great tour ... must say was pleasantly surprised at the room in the aft cabins .... your comment John about the size of the booze cupboard, yes am always surprised on some boats the amount of area dedicated to booze and glasses that go along with that lifestyle. Yes Christina I'd have to agree that the cubby in the table is ample room.... your master looks quite comfy as does the cockpit, very roomy. ..... the highfield sure makes a great wind-scoop .... thx for sharing a peek into your home, think you will be right comfortable heading to the barrier reef and beyond .... and as always .. never stop dreaming, just dream bigger .. have fun be safe, save our oceans ....

    G'day from Sydney. Wonderful tour guys and a fantastic boat. Super comfortable. Just a quick suggestion, at 10:18 where you show us your grab-bag, I'd get a larger bag that holds everything you need to 'grab' in an emergency. Trust me when I say I've seen so many situations where people literally have seconds to grab it...there's little time to grab other items not stored in the bag. Safe sailing.

    Wow, thanks for the tour Kristina & John. It's a lot roomier than it looks on the outside........it should be called TARDIS! It always amazes me when I see tours of other folks' yachts just how much space there is to fill up. I was surprised that it has t̶h̶r̶e̶e̶ four ̶b̶e̶d̶r̶o̶o̶m̶s̶ births as well. Very well thought out and much bigger than it looks. The amount of storage space really is mindboggling. I love your 'naughty' locker. My wife and I would defo have a lot of sweets, chocolates etc all over the place. You could put some all over the boat in different storage lockers and say you're getting a workout while foraging for them. Yes, that's the way to do it "exercise"! lol.
    Thanks for explaining the water storage tanks also. I know I've seen on some similar-sized yachts where there has been water & fuel tanks. Is it possible to fit/convert a tank for fuel or is it a case of using the jerry cans only?

  • @glenhopkins1521
    @glenhopkins1521 2 года назад +1

    Hey guys great to get another video & tour of your boat & I think I liked the naughty locker best! You both look fit & well & I liked the colours in your hair Kristina. John seems to be more confident in himself & the sailing gig is definitely your right gig as right now we are under another chairman Dan lockdown with really no concrete end in sight. Bet you are glad you left Melbourne when you did. Your boat looks to suit you guys & has plenty of storage which is necessary no doubt when on big trips from land or resupply. Keep on doing what you are doing as always great to see you guys & your happy smiling faces. Kristina you again look brilliant, John is one lucky man. Take care & may God bless you both. Cheers. Oh my goodness. What is Dan doing?! 😬
      We were very lucky to get out when we did. John and I were thinking about it the other day... had we left one week later, we would have been stuck in Melbourne... and if not in Vic, we would have definitely got stuck in Sydney/NSW!! Crazy. Oh, my pink hair?! 😂 I’ve always had a job (since the age of 15) so I figured - stuff it, I’m finally unemployed, I may as well make the most of it!!!! 😆😆😆 Pink hair, don’t care! 💕😂 John initially threatened to kick me off Tucana, but he’s come around. Lucky it’s just a wash out! 😛

    Suggestion on your solar panel, get a steelworks to fabricate an arch. The arch will serve many purpose but primarily for your dingy davits and solar mount. You can probably squeeze in more what 600+ watts equivalent of panels on the arch. More than enough if you want to be self sufficient and off grid most of the time especially if you have a big battery bank. Flexy solar panels are not efficient (depending on how ventilated it is) and a fire hazard.

      Great idea davit's, but if their Bimini canvas is going to cost $7,000 you can bet stainless steel davit's will be double the price. Thank God I don't live on that side of Australia. I live in Perth and have a Villa in Bali. I just get what I need in Indonesia and take it back to Aus duty free. Wow much much cheaper 😁 the stainless steel boys up here do a great job at about a third of the price .

    Just a tip with your forward hatch's fly screen/shade screens, don't sail or anchor in strong winds with them drawn as the wind will destroy their rather fragile rigidity, and eventually sag.

    Hey guys, thanks for the walkthrough. Great boat. Correct me if I’m wrong but your carbon monoxide detectors are too high. It’s a heavy gas. You’ll be unconscious before they go off.

      Hey Jordan! Glad you enjoyed it 😄😄
      Oh, you may be thinking of LPG?
      Carbon monoxide is lighter than air, and should be placed at eye level / 5 ft above the floor 🙌

    Wait till you guys figure out you can store even more in your dry bilges. You will have that aft, sorry back bedroom cleared out in no time.

    That was very interesting. Solar panels ... very cool. Why 2 wheels for steering ?

    • @svechappe6075
      @svechappe6075 2 года назад +1

      With today's modern designs, the beam (width) of the boat is carried farther aft. A single wheel in the center of the cockpit has a harder time providing visibility around the sides of the boat. Twin helms provides better visibility forward on different points of sail. Also, it frees up the cockpit so that you can easily walk thru to the swim platform area instead of having to walk around the center helm station.

    $7,500??? To replace the fabric on the dodger and bimini? Now that's a business folks should get into if they live near a marina.

    I wouldn't call Tucana tiny. I've seen apartments way smaller and far less well thought out or livable.
