Any newly bought Window 10 won't allow you connect to Window XP or old printer devices unless you turn on all the SMB 1.0/CIFS File Sharing Support features. Go to "Control Panel", choose "Programs", choose "Turn Windows features on or off" under Programs and Features, Scroll down until you see "SMB 1.0/CIFS File Sharing Support. Tick all 3. Restart the PC. You folder sharing according to video above should work now.
Correct this is required unfortunately doesn't always help when scanning to smb on meet win 10 oper systems.... Scanning to us and be folder has been an ongoing issue for many people recently
After a few months trying to scan and no .pdf files were shown under the shared folder, this was all I needed to select. Thx a lot. and thx Prestige Office Solutions.

This video should be supplied with the printer!!!! You saved so much time for me! I have a question my wise man! When I scan the PC get the file very late like 5 minutes something weird I noticed is that when I scan one paper then wait it doesn't show the scanned file and as soon as I scan another paper then both appear instantly! Also I had to activate smbv1 in program and futures because it said my laptop Wich is new doesn't support smbv2 and v3 Wich is not true when used PowerShell it clearly show it is supported and enabled! One last thing is firmware update of the copiers is it safe? Can it be bricked? Can I reverse the update? How to backup my current firmware??

not sure what is causing the delay. my first guess will be something to do with your windows registry....next guess will be the firmware on the copier. Yes, firmware update is a must with Ricoh copiers. You should have a ricoh tech do this for you unless you know how to do it online. Not something that is easy to explain in a paragraph if you don't already know.....Good luck!

Updated the firmware of the copier Rico c401rs and it supported smbv2 and v3 Then disabled smbv1 in windows as it shouldn't be used due to security risks! The copier was easy to setup I bought it from third party an authorized reseller of cannon Another question does every machine with c401 take same ink I have c401rs can I use mp c401 ink? And tryed the email steups with your video but didn't work!!!

This works great for scanning from my MP C307 to my desktop computer. I shared this folder so that it can be seen on the network. However, when this computer is asleep or turned off, I can not see this folder. How do I set up a second Scan To Folder that can go to my laptop? Thanks so much!!!
@@PrestigeOfficeSolutions On my laptop, I had gone through the same process as my desktop, but the laptop failed miserably. I finally figured out that I had inadvertently put a blank space at the end of the file path name. Once I deleted this, it starting working great! I can now scan to either my desktop or laptop or both! Thanks again

i have ricoh mp2050 i did what you said but it gives this problem Connettion with the destination has failed. Check the status and connection to check the current status (scanned files status)
at this point there is many reasons that can cause this. Too many to list..... and that's when the fun begins trying to find out what is causing it.....my only advice is to start with updating the firmware on the machine. if you're not a tech you may have to call a Ricoh service center to do this for you. Sorry but this is about all I can help you with at this point. Good luck!
My device is the RICOH Aficio MP 5000. When I login to admin, I see on the left side: "Home," "Printer: Print Jobs," "Job," "Address Book," "Configuration." I assume I should click on address book. In "Address book", I can Change, add user, Add group, delete, maintenance. When I click add user, there is no option for setting up folder destination, or email destination. I have Registration No. Name, Key display, Then bold Title, title 1, title 2, title 3, Add to Freq. which has the option on or off. After that I have Bold "Authentication Information: under that it lists "User code," "LDAP Authentication," for LDAP you can select either "Specify Other Auth. info below: or "Do not Specify." Under that it has Login User Name followed by Password." Both of these are greyed out until you select "Specify other Auth. info below. Then under that it lists "Available Functions." for this you can select the following: "copier," facsimile," "Scanner," "Document Server," "Printer." Under this is another Bold title " Protection." Under "Protection," it lists "Use name as" with the option to select "Destination" and "Sender." Next line down is "Protect Destination." For protect Destination it has "Protection Object:" and you can only select " Sender" if sender was selected under "Use name as." This is followed by "Protection Code" and a button to click to change code. From the videos I have seen, this should be followed by the option for sending destinations. How ever that option is missing and just goes to Bold title "Fax." Under fax you can add all the settings for faxing. Last option after Fax is the Bold title "Add to Group." Under add to group it lists "Detail of Group" and a change button. Some one was saying that this is because of a bad controller board. I can print, I can copy just fine. I can login into the machine from my computer. On the machine there is an option to Scan and add destination manually but when I add it, it can't connect. Also when I click on scanner, there is a message on the device that says "*Destination List Cannot Be Used Now." If you have any advice, I would really appreciate it.
Well, you are working with a very old machine and I'm guessing the machine's firmware is way too old not allowing for smb scanning..... I normally would suggest updating firmware on all machines but they stopped making new firmware updates for your model many years ago so that most likely won't help much......no idea what else to advise you other than it may be a good time to consider upgrading to a newer unit. You don't have to buy brand new. You can find some fairly new slightly used machines on our website if you want to take a look. you currently have a black/white 50 ppm machine. good luck!
Hi. I managed to set up the folder and it appears on my Aficio C3300 but however, I am unable to scan my documents to the folder, the connection test from the Aficio C3300 seems to have failed as well. I'm using a direct LAN cable to the device. Any tips on how I can troubleshoot the issue?
You're working on a very old machine. Firmware most likely is the problem. I know there's no more updated firmware out for that model so i can't promise your the last firmware made will fix your problem. Consider updating your machine....

I have no idea. Could be a million different reasons blocking it. I would need to be there onsite to examine further. I recommend you contact local dealer to come out and further troubleshoot

Hello. If the scan folder is in a sub folder would I just map it to \\COMPUTERNAME\folder\subfolder?
