Someone mockingly called me a Jesus freak today and I just chuckled at them. To me that's not an insult but an honor to know that people can see Him in me. Glory to God! This song has been on my heart all day and that comment made towards me today just makes me want to strive to become more like Him. I love my Jesus and if anyone doesn't know Him that reads my comment I encourage you to pick up a Bible and read the gospel of John.

I LOVE THIS SONG! I was going through this when I was going to public school and was being picked on for being a Jesus Freak the whole year. Now I am free from that place and am living my life as a Jesus Freak! So to those out there that are being picked on for the little things in school and you feel like there isnt hope listen to this song! I am now homeschooled and am richer in my faith! I AM A JESUS FREAK AND AM PROUD TO SAY SO!

when i hear this song it always reminds me of when my sister saw all the jewlary with crosses on them that i had on and she called me a jesus freak and laughed a bit in front of half of our family as a joke or insult and i wouldnt let her win so i said "awww you really think so? thats so sweet. thanks. I hope you become one too" and i walked out of the room praying for my family to love Jesus.

I'm a school bus driver,with tattoos. When I see the guys at the schools handing out free bibles, I run out and get me at least 2. My middle school kids seem to walk away with new bibles. Praise God for His brave people who will go out to do it. I pray for kids waiting for their buses,and walking home for Jesus to keep them safe.

Listened to the real version then listened to your version for the LYRICS and you guys killed it!!! DC Talk is the original artist of this song...1997 on the album of the same name.
well...that's why they did this song. this was really the first album without the original lead singer because his health dictated he couldn't do it anymore. the singer you hear here was a part of DC Talk. so it was done to kinda bridge that gap.

Idk if you're talking about newsboys or DC talk. But I know he was never in newsboys. I can't remember the lead guys name off the top of my head anymore but he was amazing. He had some serious health problems though which is whybhe stepped down and allowed someone else to take over so the group could continue to go on.

I never heard about health problems being a reason - several others for each of them, and now John James seems recovered and to be doing well, and Peter Furler's issues seem to have improved, and he's back touring with Newsboys!

I'm sorry, I'm a sinner and I need to be told this. I also need to hear the consequences of my sin, along with how to act behave. Hearing the message that is going to save my soul isn't always going to leave me filled with warm fuzzies. I need someone to love me enough to tell me the tough stuff.

Our family once took in a homeless man, trying to lead him to God, and he went and told his family about us, how seriously we take it, how our entire home is covered in scripture (literally, written on almost every spot of our walls) and how it was changing his life. From the description he gave of how seriously we take our faith, his family panicked, told him we were a CULT and offered to finally let him come home. which he denied, to stay here. My husband and I agree that was the highest compliment and praise we could have received. We're John the Baptist types. So if we're categorized as the same type of "insane" as him and the apostles, we are doing WAY better than we imagined. I am so thankful He gives us the opportunity to be freaks for Him. His servants. His beloved. Praise God!!

Valerie jay That is so true. People seem to think more poorly of Jesus and Christians than they do other people. The reason for that is that Christisnity is right and true. If it wasn't, then why would people care so much? The Bible is a history book, not a religious book. It states the facts. God doesn't give all of His opinions and words and that kind of thing to try to persuade us into believing in Him and loving Him. God states the facts and that is what sin hates SO much. Sin HATES knowing that all God has to do is call someone and within seconds they are giving their life over to Him. So, Christians are persecuted and looked down upon. If people thought that being a Christian was hard, they probably wouldn't go near it in the first place.
The fact that people only hate Jesus reminds me that Jesus is the real deal :)

Sadly, many seeker sensitive churches do care that they are labeled JESUS freaks. Thus, they tone down the message and the truth about God's Word is never fully preached. Instead the emphasis is on numbers, programs, and that everyone feels good when they leave so they keep coming back to keep those numbers steady and ever increasing.
