Hi, thanks for asking. n-1 as the divisor is intended for samples. In my example, I did not treat it as a sample so I did not use n-1. Notice that I also used the Excel formula STDEV.P which is the standard deviation for the population. My goal in this example is to compare the measure of variability of the three groups. So using the same formula for all will keep the comparison valid and reliable. I can also use the formula STDEV.S, which is intended for samples, in Sections B and C. If I used this, then I should use n-1 in Section A.
Sir, good afternoon po. Thank you in advance Sir kung sakaling masasagot niyo :)
A population is the entire group that you want to draw conclusions about. A sample is the specific group that you will collect data from. The sample size is always less than the total size of the population. In research, a population doesn’t always refer to people. It can mean a group containing elements of anything you want to study, such as objects, events, organizations, countries, species, organisms, etc. www.scribbr.com/methodology/population-vs-sample/
Clear ng explation. Thank you po.
You're welcome,
Thank you very much! :)
Your welcome!
Thanks a lot
But in my case I have likert scale questions, how to calculate the sd for each
I'm ergely awaiting you reply
Thank you so much sir🙌, very helpful po
Thanks!
what is the formula po, Why still use total of data set if divisor should be N-1?

Mean is 16.67, rounding off in 17?
I did not round the means to whole numbers. Notice that all the means are in two decimal places.
