  • This week we officially had our first snowfall!!! All week it was very chilly and then on Friday it snowed and all weekend there has been snow everywhere! So crazy to me- since I’m from the desert! My AFS friend, Iben, from Denmark came to visit me for the weekend so you’ll see a lot of her in this video:) Hope you enjoy!

If you did not know this, when you recycle a bottle in such a machine, you have already paid that number extra in price ("Pant" on the bottle). It is encouragement for recycling the bottles

Vegetables and fruit is a lot more healthy to eat in Scandinavia as we have strict laws about which chemicals are allowed. That is why they are less good looking. :)

Huntyyy.. The produce doesn’t look the same here as in America because we have far strickter rules for when it comes to alternating it and using chemicals.

You've misunderstood the produce situation, but it's not really interesting. The organization that gets the money from the bottles (the reverse vending machine) is Norsk Folkehjelp - they're not helping people in Norway, our government does that; the NGO provides post-conflict reconstruction assistance and humanitarian relief during conflicts. They're involved in places like Syria.

another reason why the produve isn´t "great" is because we have more strict regulations on what preservatives and chemicals that can be used :)
