I wanted to say that since I was a kid I dreamed of being able to sweep pick. I had learned most other techniques but could never sweep, no matter how hard I practiced. At the start of lockdown I came across this video and decided to just practice the shapes once a day. A few months on and one of my biggest goals on guitar has been unlocked and I don't think I could have done it without this video. I can not express how happy this has made me, thank you so much.

Man, Im amazed by this strange high quality content and your quite low audience ratio... All those other big guitar channels give exercises that are either too complicated to figure out, or too boring/easy to be worth doing for someone who is trying to become more advanced player. This video is something that works perfectly for me. Right in the middle. Been doing theese exercises for a couple of weeks, they helped me to visualize the scale better and to improve my sweep picking. Your videos are so satisfying to watch. Put some work to promotion!!!! Hey Clinton, just wanted to say that I'm really grateful for your content. It has what a lot of other videos lack: It's succinct while still having all the necessary information. The fact that tempos and tabs are provided is really helpful. In short, it ticks all the boxes (even features a cat). Thanks man.
diving deep into learning the world of sweep picking because of this coronavirus quarantine. wish me luck fellas, I won't ever call it good until I can at least do all 5 exercises at 75 bpm.

What surprised me was how quickly I was able to follow along with these patterns. No where near the speed or skill of this guy, but who cares? I'm getting better and better and I have self less guys like this to thank for sharing their knowledge. Great vid!
Thanks for playing that last 12th fret again (on the A string) at the end of the 75bpm first sweep. It helped me figure out where to loop the sweep during the pattern. The tab displayed, is played twice. I could not figure out how to loop the whole thing. That is, until I saw you hit the 12th fret twice in a row in the middle section and at the very end of the riff. Took me a few re watches but you made quite simple and I got it now! Awesome video, great playing, Thank you for showing us these juicy sweeps
Hey, of course man. Yea, i basically just did that for looping purposes like you said. Practicing sweeps slow to a metronome or a beat is super helpful to me and I need to go back and brush up on it all the time

super glad i found this. bought a new guitar after not owning one for 5 years and told myself i would learn to do more than the 3 string sweep i know. really appreciate the vid man!
I made it to 95 bpm on exercise 2 at decent accuracy. First time creating something that sounds marginally good while sweep picking. I've been playing for 14 years and just dismissed it a long time ago as something I couldn't/didn't need to do. Thanks for these exercises man.
Don’t know how relevant this is but bro learn your major scale and your minor scale and boom now you can play in any key just move it! Once you have it memorized come back and learn how to sweep, you’ll understand how the sweep patterns fit into the scale and outline chords. Also learn your triads and how to tap! These are all modern day essentials. Good luck on your journey friend, and never give up!!
Because you’re being drawn into the quicksand of the non-soulful shred. I was a victim of this demon as well for a long time so I can recognize it. People that play like the guy in this video seem to be truly amazing because they play skills and sequence is literally perfect. But unlike the original Eddie Van Halen, there is no personality. However, with all that said, I do come here to learn skills and techniques to add to my Eugene trick box.
