    It’s really remarkable that it took a person who did not want to eat animals to show Dr B how to help himself and his patients better…But huge credit to Dr B. for being open to learning from his future wife that there was more to learn about his medical practice! It took a remarkable woman and an insightful science driven doctor open to learning to lead to Fiber fueled! Thanks Dr B for caring about the whole person and sharing the wisdom your wife brought and inspired in you! I will buy your book. Please thank your wife for inspiring you, who are now inspiring us to eat and live better! I will share this with my 2 Georgetown alumni sons! Love your academic rigor and Renaissance Man approach!     I’d like to hear more about the study that was done on microbe extinction: how long after not eating a certain kind of food does it take for that microbe to never come back.

    People who have been on the carnivore diet say pretty much the same, never felt better etc etc. Also shocking how all trained gastroenterologists don't know that what you put into your gut will alter your microbiome, I'm not trained and I knew that, I thought it was common knowledge. No wonder obesity, diabetes and inflammation amongst other diseases are more common now than ever. Trained doctors are being brainwashed by the sounds of things. Glad this guy figured it out for himself and is now teaching others.

    I have fibromyalgia and I'm researching a cure to this monstrosity for an illness. Thanks so much... Love always... I think that maybe I have this illness because I was born premature and not breastfed.

      If the plant based diet does not work, you could also try the other extreme elimination "Carnivore Diet"

    So I loved this! I do wonder about certain issues when you say get off diets that are restricted. I have lpr and yes understand it is diet related, however if iI eat and vinegary or citric my throat burns my mouth ans throat get red raw and feels,like I have strep throat. So how do I eat these? And yes I don’t drink alcohol or caffine. I eat better but not fully plant based and have gotten so better since had breast ca,however my husband has severe depression anxiety and ibs and wish wish he would get off SAD.

      @C. Lord thanks, my husband was seeing a counsellor and psychiatrist and psychologist for 17 yrs. Has done tons therapy, group and alone. I as well went to help myself and we went to couples counselling. He is on meds which make him blah. He has severe IBS or son has Crohn’s disease. So to the chicken or the egg scenario, does the anxiety start from IBS or other way. He will NOT try much different in way of food cos he has such severe reactions, to the point the pain is so bad he has passed out sitting on the toilet. So if I suggest hey take a bite or try a spoonful, no thanks. I will support you but not having that type of pain again… so hopefully he will see i do better but right now says yea well we aren’t the same you have LPR and I have IBS. Since time of writing the above comment his best friend just died of massive heart attack friends for 60 yrs. Friend was active hiked Appalachian trail, involved in helping others, his grandkids etc so am hoping my hubby will rethink some things

      @C. Lord oh forgot me. I seem to be having issues with motility of food at base of my esophagus as well. I need a scope and see what these lesions i can see 3 of in my mouth so heaven knows what shape my throat is in. I am nervous they could be cancerous as having ca once always makes you think… so waiting on anENT visit but here in Canada it can be a yr plus wait.

      Have you read his book? I did his diet in 28 days and my mom noticed a definite change in my face. She noticed how unhealthy I looked last year and then I tried his diet in 28 days. My face looked much better.

    What do you replace meat with? I tried to replace beans and nuts instead of meat and I wake up with cramps in the middle of the night. Help!

      Tofu, tempeh, seitan, and TVP (textured vegetable protein). You can also use "nut meat" which is literally blended walnuts and spices!

      Dr. B. recommends starting with small amounts of beans and lentils and gradually adding more each week. Have you tried tofu or tempeh?

    I agree with you 100% and having a healthy microbiom it’s the key of good health BUT, please, you HAVE to stop saying that calories in calories out is not true ! Losing fat and being healthy it’s two different things ! You can lose fat by eating one Big Mac a day but you will feel like crap and have health issues … I lost 16 pounds by counting calories and eating what ever I wanted .. did I felt the best ? Of course not ! But I lost fat ! you can not break the law of thermodynamics! And if you have a healthy gut but eat to much calories even from plants, YOU WILL GAIN FAT ! Nuts, avocado, coconut milk are really calorie dense food ! So please, from a doctor perspective, you should know that!
