Absolutely..all this groundbreaking recent research proves the obvious correlations. Where's the passion for discovery? Its still pushed aside like any other condition not easily diagnosed and therefore taboo, with or without clear cut research, tragically these new found studies will never make it to the headlines. I salute all the medical professionals with the dignity to speak their facts so this "out of the box/critical thinking" knowledge can be available to all who wish 👏
I am an MD and recall using probiotics when I took some antibiotics at the age of 18 in 1976. I spent years as a locum MD baffling the doctors practices prescribing basics such as psyllium, probiotics, magnesium, common herbs, actually curing people of their chronic ailments. Food is medicine and the highly processed foods and vegetable oils are toxins. This was a great talk. Thank you for normalizing low technology curative medicine.
Maybe you should talk to your doctor about watching this. Tell him you will email the link and talk to him about it on the next visit. Depending on his response, consider whether or not to change doctors.

When I watch these American lectures about food, I’m reminded of how lucky I am to live in Europe. It’s not perfect, but most of our cows still graze outside, our hens are salmonella free. My county is full of pigs lazing in the sun and I mean, field after field. We have very high standards of animal welfare, even though I rarely eat meat. (Yes, I know PETA would disagree!) We have a wide range of fruit and vegetables grown across Europe. I must remember to be more grateful. Thank you for an interesting talk.

I tell my doctor I don't want medication I want to try the natural way first , I research and let her know what I intend to do , she's actually given me some good advice... never let a doctor tell you what to do as your there for advice and nothing is stopping you from going to another doctor, they depend on your visits and they can only give you a bandaid not a cure as that is how they are taught... it may take awhile to find a good doctor but it is so worth it
This was a great presentation. I witnessed the devastating impact of poor gut health with my sick husband who ultimately died from sepsis. What I saw validates the Doctor's analysis.
This is my second time listening to this! I am so excited that an MD “gets it”! I went to my allopathic doc and had some labs done, according to him everything was fine. Went to a Functional Medicine practitioner and she found I have a systemic candida and leaky gut which now has manifested into a skin disorder (maybe psoriasis). Everything starts in the gut whether good or bad!
How long did it take them to get results? Ive been battling something and they are doing more blood labs. Can i ask you what your symptoms were? I had pain in low hip back area on right side in 2019 now its both sides and upper back and it effects my back muscles ive pulled muscles on my thoracic spine 3 times in a month. I now have itchy head and neck. My abdominals are sore to the touch and at least 1 a week I get swelling in GI tract and bad pains.I had symptoms of kidney disease and stress but nephrologist said kidneys are 100% GFR.My CRP is 50.5 and she is thinking of an MRI after these labs come back
@@escapingbabylon8730 it sounds like you have several things going on. It’s probably not a bad idea to get an MRI but conventional docs say everything is ok but intuitively you know they are not. I’d look into a Functional med doc. It’s expensive but in my case they found several issues! I broke out w skin issues which one doc said was psoriasis and another one said it could be candida which i was found to have. Still, it may have manifested into psoriasis. I developed red patches all over my arms and other places and my scalp burned and itched at times and then had horrible dandruff. I’ve now been on a strict diet -gluten free - no sugar - no processed food for 1 month and a GI protocol of supplements for two weeks and my scalp is returning to normal and I have more energy! I also have discomfort in lower back in morning but I know it’s arthritis and manageable. Hope you find some answers!
@Taiwo Omotosho thank you. My mystery diagnosis turned out to be 3 bulged lumbar discs and 2 lesions ...causing such neurological and gastric damage. Thanks thou.
I now have skin rashes. I know it's from Candida overgrowth. I take garden of life raw probiotics. I took 400 billion 5 day max powder. Rash was gone in 3 days. Unfortunately I am stuck in stupid. I refuse to quit drinking. I now take 85 billion capsules with my booze. Sweat opens our skin pores which allows toxins to exit our bodies. I even gave myself CDIF whrn i take Epsom salt to eliminate waste. I immediately take probiotics and drink my raw milk. Yogurt is only good if u make it from scratch.
This is the first YT video I’ve run across of an MD Speaking many truths that need to be made public! Bravo 👏!!
I taught nutrition in my yearlong physiology course in high school. I had 6 weeks to do it. The students loved it and the parents too. I have recently attended the 55th reunion of some of my students. They remembered the nutrition and were grateful . I first started teaching in 1958 and am still hearing from grateful former students. Only the nutrition is what they mention. Thanks to you tube teachers can update their lessons.I had to be careful to not criticize commercial food products. I kept the lessons positive and made it interesting. In 6 weeks they became very educated in nutrition and CHANGED THEIR BEHAVIOR !
When the teachers do a multi-class subject ....nutrition and cooking, nutrition and gym, nutrition and chemistry/biology....I think it makes more sense to students and provides 'experience' in various subject areas with a direct relationship. I had chemistry in h.s. but didnt do well. If there was an applied application like biochemistry...I might have liked it more. However dissecting a fetal pig in biology class...wasn't fun either.
"Maybe the gut is the source of multi-organ failure related to unregulated inflammatory response." BINGO. I've found that making small changes in my diet and fluid intake routine helps more than anything. Eat smaller portions. Drink plenty of water all day long. Don't eat after 7 pm supper. Explore the wide variety of fresh produce you've never eaten. Eat more beets and winter squash, fresh greens and broccoli. Stop the sodas and lessen the amount of coffee. Cut the sugar burden completely. Find hobbies and interests and stay out of the kitchen. Good luck.
I did that and got healed. I hit a stress level in my life because of things out of my control: death and widowed, systematic racism against me as a Indigenous person, hurricanes fraud against me, missl diagnosed by doctor causing me to lose my license to drive and took me a yr to get it back, break in & stolen property. all in one year plus covid has caused me to regress. Very numb feeling indeed
Refreshing to hear a doctor explain health issues so honestly. This is what the world needs. We must all educate ourselves and share/teach others how we can prevent or overcome health challenges naturally, the way God intended it to be. Thanks a million for sharing this with us. Change is necessary and it must come now.

Nice...I've been taking acidophilus since I was a teen. I found it in a health food store looking for something to help my lactose intolerance but learned about all the other benefits from a 40 page book by a Dr in Minnesota and have been taking it on and off since. I believe it helped lessen my teen depression along with my gut issues. I took it regularly throughout both my pregnancies along with nursing and I have noticed that my boys rarely get sick. I have been a huge advocate of probiotics ever since I found them for many reasons and even more so now that there is so much more information available and growing. growing. Great talk, thanks!

That is spot on guys.......really the main thing to watch is the water or more importantly the ice served with drinks, which is usually not filtered or the ice maker is not clean enough.....I am also looking forward to spending time in Asia!
@@aussiekiss4673 The reason you can’t handle the water there is because your system is too “clean”. The locals don’t get sick from it, but the tourists do. I lived in Thailand for 2 years. The locals could eat stuff I couldn’t because we’re too sanitary in the west. My microbiome couldn’t handle what theirs could. An example of that would be the raw crabs they put in the papaya salads. The tourists can end up in the hospital if they eat it, the locals thrive on it. The main thing you notice when you get to Thailand from a western country is that Thailand is “dirty”. There’s dirt and grime everywhere. Westerners cringe over a lot of their unsanitary conditions there, but that’s the very thing that keeps them stronger and healthier than us and keeps them out of the hospital. I accidentally drank the water in Cambodia on a visa run and was hospitalized for a week. I almost died from something that’s harmless to them. 😔

Oral hygiene is very important for overall health. The mouth is an entrance to the gut, lungs and immune system. Brushing and flossing daily is key to avoiding upper respiratory infections, blood infections and heart disease.
As soon as you use toothpaste, you destroy the good bacterias in your mouth. And your diet sucks, so you get lesser nutrients, so your teeth get attacked. Together with the toothpaste every day, you create bad conditions like 'plaque' and receiding gums. The brush is to hard and damages the gums and teeth. The food we eat mostly is putting a bad film in your teeth. You should only use a soft brush and brush correct, without this toothpastes with abrasive toxins and fluor and other adds. The correct foods also prevent tooth plaque film and give nutrients to the teeth and gums, roots. Rootcanals surgery/cleaning also create big problems and infections, who spread itself to other tissues and roots... Everything is so complicated. P.S. There are cultures with a healthy diet and they do not brush their teeth. They have strong, healthy good teeth.

A surgeon talking about the importance of nutrition and probiotics. I thought I would not live long enough to see it. There is hope. Nutrition wasn't even taught in medical school back in the day. I don't even know how much is taught now. But, I know young people are easier to reach then those who are already well established in their careers. Not impossible, but difficult to reach that group. I think he is correct in reaching other groups instead of trying to convince his colleagues. Tell them that Cipro isn't a regular antibiotic. It was made as a chemotherapeutic agent, but didn't work well. So, it was noticed that it kills bacteria, so they made it into an antibiotic. It enters every cell in your body and can attack your mitochondria, which is a type of good bacteria, and is responsible for your energy production. They are giving Cipro out left and right for UTIs. I think Cipro is great if there is an anthrax attack. It can save your life. But why give a hydrogen bomb when a cherry bomb will do? I had such a bad reaction to Cipro, I placed it on my allergy list. It wasn't an allergic reaction, but was an systemic reaction of some type. We got off to a good start with the progression of medicine in the US. Two doctors were curing cancer with nutrition, but then Dr. Fishbein, President of the AMA came in and put a stop to that. A law was actually made that cancer can only be treated with chemotherapy, radiation and surgery. Rockefeller was the Bill Gates of yesteryear and who Bill Gates has openly admitted that he fashioned his foundation after. Rockefeller was a nonmedical billionaire just like Gates, Rockefeller who had so much money he bought off his biggest critics through funding grants, giving donations and the like, and with his big money, and he literally determined the medical school curriculum making certain that it didn't include nutrition. And, I think that much of the misery we have experienced over the years began this nonmedical billionaire, Mr. Rockefeller. If not for him, MDs and medical professionals would have had more power to influence the pharmaceutical industry and certainly the medical school curriculum. Do not let this catastrophe happen again with Gates, a non medical billionaire, using his big money, the late Rockefeller and his Foundation as his mentor, to experiment on humans with viruses in a manner that is harmful instead of helpful. Preventing disease with just what this MD is talking about is key. Rushed to market substances containing the ability to change your cells in a manner not well studied can lead to catastrophe. Also, giving viruses a gain of function to force them to infect humans when in nature they would not, in order to study pandemics, and make big money on vaxs as was done with this particular virus, should also not be allowed.
Thank you, Dr. Everything you say is true. Personally, working with Covid patients for a year as a nurse, I have remained Covid negative. I attribute a lot of immune health to my drinking Kefir.
You make your own? I never heard of that. I’m going to look that up. I cleaned up my gut issues, but I’m helping my son who has toxins and is mentally ill from them. I’m making him do what I had to go to clean up my diet, personal products, cleaning products, and outside fertilizers etc. I’m growing my own vegetables and have planted fruit trees and bushes. It’s hard, but I have no inflammation in my body now. I’m surprised because I was so full of toxins, I thought my IQ had dropped 40 points. 🙏
May I ask what else you consider important, that perhaps I haven’t considered? Thank you, and stay healthy. I’m sending a prayer for your continued health. 🙏
Most of the time Inflammation is the beginning of various health issues. Aurvedic always focuses on Gut health before treating any symptoms. We had a inflammatory challenge went to 7 different doctors in USA and couple of doctors oversees. Spent lots of money on diagnostics and other expenses. They all said Auto immunity problem. Using medication lead to lot of side effects and didn't helped at all. Found an alternative by probiotics and change in nutrition for last 2 years no issues. If we can help you anyway reach out to us.
As a healthcare professional in alternative health, this past year has been really hard on me to be forced to adhear to safety guidelines that I knew were doing more damage. I wish there were more doctors like him running the show.
I am experiencing this now in my life. Of coarse I have knowledge about how correct all this is as well. So this is head knowledge combined with experience. So I watch this now to remind myself, and mine for any extra gems I still require for recovery. Mono fruitarian meals are surely a go-to...in addition to prolonged water fasting done right (such as Loren Lockman teaches though Less extreme/lengthy).
Look up Robert Lusteg, he has waged war on the pandemic of obesity run by global food/drink conglomerates. Obesity IS a pandemic, has checked all the boxes of a pandemic, but yet no one will fight the cause because you guessed it....a money trail. Corn syrup (soda) and the 30? names for sugar added in our foods is the cause.
@@lt2339 Regardless of who's getting paid, he's right. Consuming excess sugar thru daily high calorie, zero nutrient rich soft drinks IS a good place to start cutting back, or out completely, when focusing on a weight management program where diet is a contributing factor. Rule 1: Consume less calories than you expend. - Tackling obesity while ignoring ones diet is failure to launch. No blaming that on anyone else. Change begets change.
I read something in a book by dr Atkins it explained his thinking on antibiotics. He believed that antibiotics are terribly damaging and cause a long list of sicknesses. However they also can keep you alive. At one time a large percentage died of pneumonia. Antibiotics shouldn't be given lightly because recovery from them takes far longer than most people realize. However even with the damages they're not dead. And recovery can eventually happen.
If you enjoyed this, you may want to know about some mistakes people may make in trying to fix gut health! They include: adding a probiotic to help with excessive gas and bloating (that's just one piece of the puzzle), eliminating a food for 4 days and expecting it solve the issue (will take at least 2 weeks), and not thinking about root causes!
It would be nice to know which specific bacteria he recommends. There are too many different variants of probiotics on the market. Certain bacteria are useful for a specific type of problem.

@Taiwo Omotosho thank you so much! Ill check em out
I now have skin rashes.

When the teachers do a multi-class subject ....nutrition and cooking, nutrition and gym, nutrition and chemistry/biology....I think it makes more sense to students and provides 'experience' in various subject areas with a direct relationship.
Oral hygiene is very important for overall health. The mouth is an entrance to the gut, lungs and immune system. Brushing and flossing daily is key to avoiding upper respiratory infections, blood infections and heart disease.
Using hydrogen peroxide or iodine to wash the mouth and brush is way better than just brushing and flossing.

Need to try and get of the drugs google [ natural remedies and herbs ]. Also, one of the main reasons of constipation is dehydration [ not drinking enough water ] . Coffee stimulates the bowels , just not too much .

Dr. Martindale has great credibility and an important message, which clinicians should heed.
Glad to come across this video very early in the morning its a God send I have been suffering from inflammatory diseases most of my life and just recently started on taking probiotics in a pill form and have seen great changes thank God and to a woman youtuber God bless her but today I have definitely learned alot watched the whole video thanks to this very talented Dr whom I appreciate his expertise and knowledge to share such an important subject that has been ignored by many doctors to look into which is the root of many illnesses, Thank you Dr.and God bless you and your family , amen.
He is so right about Cipro! I took Cipro in 2015. Since that time I have had my left and right bicep tendons rupture, and repaired. In 2020 I had a complete tear of my left tricep tendon. While still in a cast after the tendon repair, I had emergency surgery for diverticulitis. Four days later another surgery for an abscess and clot. Ten days later back in the hospital for another abscess and inflammation. I had a barrage of antibiotics. Currently I am being tested for temporal arteritis. I am 60 years old. Trying not to get depressed.
Sounds like they trapped you on the endless spinning hamster wheel and there’s no way to get off.
I’m in a similar situation. Was diagnosed with thyroid cancer in 2019. Had thyroid removed and it’s been one health problem after another since.
My only hope is in Jesus and His healing power. That's what keeps me going. This is a time of testing my faith. If I am not healed, I know He gives me grace. The spinning wheel may not stop until I die, but then I know I will be with Jesus. @@aquaseahorselove3939
Daniel I had a similar experience with the surgical aspect. Prescribed Cipro twice in 2015, 2016 had surgery for a bicep tendon and rotator cuff tear, prescribed cipro again in 2017, in 2018 tore both rotator cuffs and while rehabbing got a left SLAP tear, surgery for both. When paired with flexeril specifically... IT CAUSES HAVOC ON TENDONS. Did I mention I was also diagnosed with diverticulitis in 2019? I pray everything gets better for you.
@@danielnicholas8686 Well, God is good so I don’t believe God put this on me to test my faith. God’s smart and knows my heart. I do wish we as humans were more advanced and doctors could help better than cutting things out/up or passing out pills. I continue to just do my best by eating healthy and I should exercise more and stress less.

THANK YOU DOCTOR FOR TAKING THE TIME TO HELP OTHERS.
I had debilitating inflammation for 4 years. After being tested numerous times for everything under the sun and bloodwork returning back fine EVERY TIME, the Rheumatologist diagnosed me with Seronegative RA. (I was not convinced, but no other Dr could tell me what was wrong)Fast forward after a move to a new state and a new Dr, (1 month ago)… I was finally told that I had FOOD ALLERGIES!!… I’m allergic to things that I was eating on a daily or weekly basis. (Eggs, milk, wheat, soy, peanuts, corn, shrimp, etc.)I’ve lost 8lbs in a month (inflammation), If you’re having a lot of inflammation and can’t get answers, please have them test you for food allergies. You can develop them at any age. God Bless!
Finally a dr who isdriving this point home.who did nutrition kinda makes sense if one operates on peoples guts.also endocrine system.
After having allergies to milk since birth, and having acid reflux most of my life, I decided to start taking a good Probiotic with 80 billion CFU’s. Within a week of starting the Probiotics at the age of 60, I am now free of lactose intolerance and acid reflux. At the age of 65, I also have fewer seasonal allergies and almost no colds in the winter. I highly recommend the Garden Of Life brand of Probiotics which are available in the refrigerated section at the Vitamin Shoppe or on Amazon.

Fermented foods is an element for good health.
Yes I agree with you
You know which foods to ferment best? Green leafy like cabbages, beets, cucumbers soya non-gmo.

I attribute my robust health, physical strength, high energy levels and ability to do.my second degree in my 60-ties to the art of fermentation passed to me from my ancestors - just few simple dishes...
@Nibbler800 look into antihistamine diet online and you will find a list of them. essentially, when you have inflammation or allergies, your body would secret lots of histamine to fend of source of inflammation or allergen. but too much of it can cause over-reaction like itchiness and redness. so people with chronic inflammation or allergies should not be touching food with histamines.

I'm constantly saying that this should be taught to kids in elementary school. The problem is that those that make the policies are heavily invested in big pharma, corporate hospitals, and things like tobacco, alcohol, and on and on. If we took away the ability for those that make the policies to invest in public trading then we might see some positive change!

Butyrate also was named after butter, a short chain fatty acid. Theres a connection there. This is why butter is better than margerine.
Yes, especially grass fed butter like kerry gold, that margarine is poison
Margarine contains hydrogenated vegetable oil. That is a source of free radicals which steal electrons from your body. If they steal electrons from your DNA, then you get wrinkles and accelerated aging.
And butter tastes way, way, way better than margarine!
Well, my great grandmother died in a car accident at 92 and she used butter, lard, etc. for everything.

You are 100% correct! And Greed is indeed our greatest tyrant!
I had a similar reaction to Cipro, and included it on my list of allergic reactions. Bad stuff!

My personal thoughts on Obesity is get rid of all the soft drinks that would be a help that would be a start it is a deep subject
@@lt2339 sugar is the most powerful poison... Sweet and deadly

Regardless of who's getting paid, he's right.

Great idea!
Wow, what an excellent video. Thank you doctor.👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻💖
I really enjoyed the lecture. Eye opening!
