In order to collect unemployment you have to be fired, you can't quit. Now you can twist your employers arm to be "let go", like not showing up for work ever, for example. It's a loophole lots of people exploit. In Ontario it's like 60% of your wage.

LOLL right..For single person with no kids at her age she is decades behind on finacial growth...shes going be same boat as some of the callers in 60s 70s going into bankruptcy cause they can only get part time work in the golden years...@kimicope_
Shes not braggy, shes having a midlife crisis, shes asking what it was all for.... The hosts are morons and completely missed the mark focussing on a piddly 10k debt when shes questioning her life purpose. The whole point of being financially secure (which she is if they had looked at the big picture) is having thw chance to find ypur oassion and she should absolutely take a year to travel and do volunteer work. There will be an end date on it but she could well find a higher paying career, or a partner, or a cheaper place she wants to live, all of which will change her future. She needs to exhaust those options before she commits to another long term job. And when rachel said "it would be different if you had sold your condo and were spending that cash" wtf? Yes it would be different... it would be a whole lot worse! What an utterly clueless statement... can tell shes silver spoon just repeating her fathers basic rules with no deeper understanding.
@kimicope_ You obviously have no idea what you're talking about 😂 The caller can wake up tomorrow, sell her home, pay off every single one of her debts to be debt free, invest over half a million in index funds, and still have over $150,000 to travel the world and live off of for as long as she can. Given the average return if just the sp500, it would take her less than 7 years to turn that 500k into a million and she would only be 55. Keep hating. You probably don't even own a home at all 😂
There is absolutely no way THIS woman paid off a 700k condo on 50k yearly salary. She must have bought it for 100k and it appreciated or she inherited it.
She has worked for 25 years... Not hard at all if she was smart and bought 20 years ago. Maybe it was $300k when she bought it. Saved for 5 years and paid on it for 20 years.
Hey I'm amazed that we had a call like this. Because my cousin thinks and lives exactly like this lady (even the part where he paid 90% of his high value home already; except that he travels every few months instead of not travelling for many years then just quit everything to travel like this lady). I've always felt that it's strange, could never convince him, and wondered what advice the Ramsey team would give for this situation.
I thought Ramsey wanted people to be different. They said normal sucks. Also she has a net worth of $600k. She can get married to someone similar and she is a millionaire.
@@siva47931 Are you for real? They said different because they're unwilling to say whats actually going on right now. She is stupid and acting in a stupid way
From $37K to $65K that's the minimum range of profit return every month I think it's not a bad one for me, now I have enough to pay bills and take care of my family.
If you have no mortgage it's easily doable. Her main expense will be condo fees, likely between $750 and $1K per month. (assuming a condo tower, not townhouse or stacked townhouse)
@@m.l.2483 Canadians have to renew their mortgage terms like in the UK. If she has no income she can be denied and possibly lose her home. They have to renew every 5, max 10yrs. That $13k, if she has no income, and be denied refinance and she will be screwed
There is ZERO justification for her going to Jamaica when she's got no job and racking up debt to pay her living expenses. Her priorities are completely out of whack
Oh my, randomly quitting a job in TORONTO! She might be trying to pay down her mortgage to avoid interest when she has to refinance. Canadian mortgages are only for in for 3-5 years and then you have to renegotiate. I don't know if I'd be putting that on credit cards though.
First-caller needs a man to support for her. Second-My 2.5% mortgage is $1900/month. Of that, about $725 is taxes and insurance. Interest is $625/month. Even if I paid off the mortgage, I would still have a $725/month payment. It makes NO sense to pay off a 300K mortgage with investments that pay (even at only 10%) $2500 per month to save $625 per month in interest. Where am I wrong?
1. She does not need a man to support her. That's a terrible thing to say. 2. She needs to get herself together and see a therapist to find out what is wrong with her and why is she acting like this, does she have ADHD, depression--this woman is all over the place. 3. She needs to calm down, get a job, stay with the job, to pay off down her debt and figure out whether or not if she wants to keep or sell her condo.
The simultaneous reaction from them both when she said, "I'm not paying to get my nails done." Girl on the left (don't know her name, sorry) raised her eyebrow and Rachel cocked her head 😂
In Canada you typically can’t collect EI after quitting (with few exceptions) so her story isn’t lining up. Suspect it was a mutual separation from her employer that she is presenting as quitting. Or she is fraudulently claiming EI.
I can't imagine not working for a year. I know during Covid, I didn't work for a month or two before I started to work again. I usually work a few part time jobs and babysitting and such so I usually have something.
I know people like this they are in bad financial situation even to the Point of homless and they still only wanna work a job that checks specific boxes for them. It’s amazing to me
In Toronto, even if she pays that off its probably 700 $ a month in condo maintenance fees plus high cost of living. She needs to bring in at least 2k-2500 a month.
Me too! 😂 her being only Dave Ramsey(ish) + being childfree is still MILES ahead of most people! She’ll be fine, I can tell. She’ll end up a millionaire with many, many amazing stories along the way.
She literally could have stuck it out at her job for six more months, paid the condo off, found another job, and had zero debt and a new job within eight months.
@@kimicope_ $55k Canadian is only $39k US, with very high taxes and an astronomical cost of living in Toronto. She's getting free food from somewhere lol. Probably goes on dates with simps every night.
Being that close to paying off a mortgage on a place valued at 700k and risking everything for some time off work is beyond ridiculous. Clearly there is some level of mental illness or there’s much more to this story. This feels like self sabotage on the most extreme level. Any rational person that close to paying off a mortgage at that value would take any random crappy job they could and pay that off. Imagine the peace of mind of owning a home outright. This girl is going to get a massive head bangin wakeup callwhen she hits 70s. Ive helped my families through ordeals, 500k didnt even cut it, but shes satisfied with 55k. Good luck.
If we need 500k to retire then how many people have that, sounds like a broken system
Diana isn't factoring in her age into the employment market. She wants to be picky but at her age employers are even more selective.
She’s only 48. Only 1/2 way through the standard working career.
Don't worry if she doesn't get the job she'll just say she was qualified and wasn't chosen because of age and gender and win millions
she quits her job and is apparently able to collect unemployment in Canada. Unemployment in the US is only a few hundred dollars a week not enough to live on. Then she takes an expensive trip out of the country. I love Rachel and Jades' reaction
In order to collect unemployment you have to be fired, you can't quit. Now you can twist your employers arm to be "let go", like not showing up for work ever, for example. It's a loophole lots of people exploit. In Ontario it's like 60% of your wage.
@@deefed7973 and you only receive it for 9 months
@@deefed7973 not true. I collected unemployment once from a job I quit. You just have a longer approval process and it only works under certain circumstances.
@@deefed7973…My kids mother took some sort of “mental stress leave” last year and was able to tap into EI to cover the gap while she wasn’t working …She then quit a few months after
…The consequences of dealing with her actions I suppose 🤷♂️
There are many reasons she is single. It's definitely not by choice. Her 2nd name is DRAMA 😂.
This gal is from Canada.. shes childless..
I have a suggestion for her.
1) sell the condo
2) travel the world for the next 10-12 years.
3) apply for MAID at 60 because you are depressed and broke.
YOLO!
Everyone look up what MAID is in Canada to get the joke
Sounds like a plan
Honestly, that's her best route.
@@neutralcommenter7800😂😂😭
Omg 😮😮😮😮😂😂😂😂7:15 I’m dying at this whole call
She just called to brag she has many options on what to do
Doesn't sound braggy to me at all, honestly sounds like she humiliated herself. To only have $30k in investment and she is already in her 50s. And then to just use a credit card to live off of is a poor mindset. She is living in a delusion.
They’re jealous.
You probably don't even own a home at all 😂
Mid life crisis glad I had mine 3 years ago at 40.
Can we please please give a round of applause to Jade and her hair style? Absolutely gorgeous.. 😍
yeah shes definately got the looks for this tv stuff
Most important part of the call.
I think her old style was better.
yessss love it! I need her skin care routine as well. Beautiful !
Meh
“Let’s be honest”, she sounds like a boss babe who is always telling others what to do and can’t shut up.
more like a boss babe act like on top of everything by talking when her life is miserable and in disaster in reality...
I wish Dave would've been on this call his reaction would've been amazing
Hey I'm amazed that we had a call like this. Because my cousin thinks and lives exactly like this lady (even the part where he paid 90% of his high value home already; except that he travels every few months instead of not travelling for many years then just quit everything to travel like this lady). I've always felt that it's strange, could never convince him, and wondered what advice the Ramsey team would give for this situation.
People like Canada so much but she said it’s low wages and a $700,000 condo. What is the plan for people under 40?
"Diana you're so different" lol lol
I thought Ramsey wanted people to be different. They said normal sucks. Also she has a net worth of $600k. She can get married to someone similar and she is a millionaire.
@@siva47931 Are you for real? They said different because they're unwilling to say whats actually going on right now. She is stupid and acting in a stupid way
They can't process someone not being a sheep. 😅
Yeah, but this is something that Dave would call stupid.
This is something every pair of brain cells calls stupid.
Jade! I love your braids girl! I need to get mine done for the year 😭
Rachel and jade were the perfect hosts for this caller
From $37K to $65K that's the minimum range of profit return every month I think it's not a bad one for me, now I have enough to pay bills and take care of my family.
How please?
Yeah, since meeting Shellane Maxwell, I now agree that with an expert managing your portfolio, the rate of profit is high, with less risk.
I will advise you stop trading on your own if you keep losing… i don't trade on my own anymore, I always required help and assistance
Sounds familiar, I have heard her names on several occasions.. And both her success stories on wall street journey!
She's my family personal Broker and also a Broker to many families here in the United states, she is a licensed Broker.
It’s so risky. Big no no. It’s a slippery slope.
My favorite duo on the channel; both are really Great!!
55k as a single unemployed adult in Toronto is NOT sustainable. She is in DANGER.
She has $13k left on the mortgage. $55k would be fine in her situation.
John Deloney - “are you safe?”
Why are these condo fees so high? What's included?
These two hosts are so smart and so pretty, and the caller is so the opposite. Full spectrum of humanity.
I love the caller - she is a unique soul
A lot of yall hate this woman. I love her 😂 she’s crackin me up
I still waiting for the reason of this call. By the way;Jade's hair looks amazing.
Why would quit a job, go back to work to quit again, just to go back to work? That’s weird cycle to me
Potential employers don’t ask why she left her last job? Toronto must be very different.
she has no intention of ever working again.
There is ZERO justification for her going to Jamaica when she's got no job and racking up debt to pay her living expenses. Her priorities are completely out of whack
But she hasn't traveled in SEVEN YEARS!!!
How Diana Got Her Groove Back
This call needed Dave to set her straight
She sounds like a real winner.
1:18 Jade’s face😂 I love her
she is funny and amazing, could not stop laughing.
I wish Dave was there for this call. They were wayyy too nice
I will never ever ever understand people who quit a job without having a new job lined up. That's insane.
Oh my, randomly quitting a job in TORONTO! She might be trying to pay down her mortgage to avoid interest when she has to refinance. Canadian mortgages are only for in for 3-5 years and then you have to renegotiate. I don't know if I'd be putting that on credit cards though.
I love this.
The simultaneous reaction from them both when she said, "I'm not paying to get my nails done."
Girl on the left (don't know her name, sorry) raised her eyebrow and Rachel cocked her head 😂
Oh please, you get a black coffee and you go to work.
Love the braids, Jade🎉.
I could not have been as kind as Jade and Rachel were, and I’m pretty sure Dave couldn’t have either!
I know people like this they are in bad financial situation even to the Point of homless and they still only wanna work a job that checks specific boxes for them. It’s amazing to me
You are totally wrong on this one. She has huge assets for a single woman. She spent 1.3% of her net worth on a year long vacation.
Diana is my hero
In Toronto, even if she pays that off its probably 700 $ a month in condo maintenance fees plus high cost of living. She needs to bring in at least 2k-2500 a month.
She’s doing her own thing and it works for her 🤷🏾♂️ I loved the Jamaica part 😂
Me too! 😂 her being only Dave Ramsey(ish) + being childfree is still MILES ahead of most people!
She’ll be fine, I can tell. She’ll end up a millionaire with many, many amazing stories along the way.
@@Angaloth19 More likely old, alone, scraping by, and living on memories.
This is one of the most annoying callers I've ever heard.
Same 😂 it almost comes off sarcastic. I don't even believe her 😂😂
They know she is a tough egg to crack. She is determined…
No wonder she's single at 48.
48 no kids no husband. We are not the only people she annoys. She could never find a partner
😂😂😂😂😂
She thinks her safety net is just selling the 700k condo she doesn't seem like she'll make the 700k last 😂
Also it’s 700k Canadian so $500k us. Likely not even close to enough to retire and buy a home.
AND she still has to live somewhere, and that won't be free!
She has only borrowed 10k 7kUS in the last year. She knows how to stretch a dollar---even the Canadian one.
She literally could have stuck it out at her job for six more months, paid the condo off, found another job, and had zero debt and a new job within eight months.
I actually know ppl who live like this. She in Jamaica now celebrating her birthday 😅
Okay, why did Diana call in?
Exactly🤷♀️
To troll them
She's trolling 😂 there's no way and she's like "it's only 55k a year" as if that's poverty 😂
@@kimicope_ $55k Canadian is only $39k US, with very high taxes and an astronomical cost of living in Toronto. She's getting free food from somewhere lol. Probably goes on dates with simps every night.
to hear herself talk
Being that close to paying off a mortgage on a place valued at 700k and risking everything for some time off work is beyond ridiculous. Clearly there is some level of mental illness or there’s much more to this story. This feels like self sabotage on the most extreme level.
Any rational person that close to paying off a mortgage at that value would take any random crappy job they could and pay that off. Imagine the peace of mind of owning a home outright. Then you can get some random part-time job just to make enough to pay off your taxes every year and do whatever the heck you want thereafter. This caller hurts my soul. 😢
Wow. Just wow.
"You know what I mean?" No, I don't, LOL!
I swear some people who call in have never listened to the show
